pro tip you can just grab a bunch of random parts from dumpsters and hardware stores and computer stores and just attach them together haphazardly and then put it in your suitcase and take it to the airport and get arrested pretty much 100% of the time

can we at least start by recognizing that there's an element of coercion to monogamy? like on paper yes both partners are entering this relationship agreeing towards exclusivity but like... we're all gay here right? we know that there's a societal pressure to get Paired Up and married and have kids?

I'm talking specifically about the culture around using spelling and grammar errors as acceptable bludgeons against whoever it is you're criticizing. there are dyslexics and many more language processing related disabilities who have great and dogshit takes independently of their ability to spell and/or express themselves with standard grammar. And it's just baffling that someone will double down on using these errors as sufficient arguments to make their points. Would someone who is going around parroting US State department drivel about the Uyghur genocide carry more merit if they spelt "Uyghur" correctly rather than incorrectly? It's just plain ableist, harmful to people on your side who will see it, and intellectually lazy. And this all interacts with that tendency of big follower count blogs acting in very disrespectful ways who can get away with it because of the extremely cliquey culture around the big urls. it's so easy to do better too
there's a lot of talk here about how on tumblr follower count and "popularity" don't matter but as soon as a big (relative) blogger on here does something non-ideal and someone corrects them (1) their followers immediately take the side of their parasocial mutual and (2) the big blogger refuses to admit a mistake. I feel insane. you let the tumblr follower number get to your head. you cross 2000 and what? because you made decently worded posts summing up Lenin or Mao you are above considering any criticism? it's not that hard to distinguish bait from someone who is a part of the same circles as you expressing a concern, and frankly if you don't wanna make the effort just don't say anything. god forbid a moment of straight thinking gets in the way of the dunk. tumblr is a very cliquey and hostile place

a lot of these bloggers can be very unduely disrespectful and insulting to other people and there are no repercussions whatsoever, because it's the "big poster" doing it. you can call them out on downright and clear ableist behavior that doesn't take a big effort to correct and they'll ignore it, take it flippantly or double down. this happened to a friend of mine who tried their hand at writing something seriously and the two biggest communist blogs on here vagued the 200 note post because they used a word with a slightly different meaning used in their field. nothing happened except this friend now has been treated like shit by people who seem to think 5 digit follower count means they gotta be on the perpetual dunk hunt and double down on ableism (a separate occurrence). I don't know what else to tell you. "the online is real" also applies to all people you interact with not just your mutuals.

spelling issues do not automatically destroy someone’s arguments this is like ableism 101. you can disagree with someone without making fun of their spelling skills
