There's not really gross details. It's not exactly sex, it's more like.. intertwining your magic with someone else's. You get to sense what the other person's magic feels like, and then your cores align to be more in tune with each other. It's like walking over a bridge to meet each other on it, hence "bridging", and depending on who initiates it, that determines what magical stuff you can become attuned to.

Like, basically, if someone were to bridge with an illusory, and the illusory initiated, then the person who bridged with them will be more capable of illusion magic for like, a week or so?

Pretty sure there's a way people can meet in the middle and both become more capable of the other's magic? Maybe? I would assume, at least. You might be able to find some kind of scientific-type article online about it, just be careful about what you look up to find it.

But yeah. That's basically what it is. So be careful of anyone that wants to help you like.. practice a form of magic by intertwining your magic with theirs, just as an example. Once you're older, you can bridge with whoever you want, but it really is a pretty significant thing given how much it affects your magic. More significant than sex. So like, most people only do it with someone special. No matter what, though, you need to be able to trust whoever you're doing it with. At the very least.

Yeah, yeah, it's awkward, it's gross, but you really do need to know at least vaguely about the concept and what the process is. There are people out there who take advantage of humanborn's lack of knowledge of the empowered world, and getting a humanborn to bridge with them without being informed enough to truly give consent is unfortunately something that happens.

I only found out about bridging when I was 19. Went through all that stuff with DUMP only for them to never explain such a vital thing. Allan had to give me "the talk". So while it might be awkward for me to tell you, at least you aren't finding out way later when you're already completely integrated into the empowered world.
