In the midst of a healthcare system that is commonly thought of as collapsing, I couldn’t agree more with this statement!
There is too many healthcare professionals that allow themselves to be in control of patient health instead of promoting self management.
In physio, instead of massage, acupuncture or other hands on techniques, exercise and other techniques that are within the patients control should be used!
Especially since the evidence now is pointing to the fact that your hands on work is only good for short term pain relief, not long term!
We need to start pushing for this attitude if we ever hope to keep our nhs alive ❤️😢

Just doing a little revision and decided I’d put a face on the anterior side of my Dermatome picture... it looks like a thing of nightmares 😂😂😂

I have just been introduced to the Goldilocks principle on placement. It is a fantastic way or showing and explaining pain and flare ups or patients and demonstrates how they should be managing to find their own exercise intensity. It helps to promote self management and give the patient some control over their own recovery process ❤️

So amongst all this blog stuff, I’m desperately gonna be trying to shift a few kilos, pounds, stone, whichever you know 🙈
Going to uni has not done my diet or figure any favours! So I’m going to be trying to make changes towards a more active and healthy lifestyle again!
Wish me luck! #health #fitness #balance #promotinghealth #happy

I got onto this course thinking it’d be fine and I could just breeze my way though it.... let’s just say I was so wrong! It’s such a rewarding course and I’ve had the opportunities already in 9 months to do some amazing stuff and work with amazing, talented and hard working people. There has been a time or two where dropping out has been a serious consideration, and times where I think I’m the happiest I have ever been!
Point being sometimes in life, the things you want most are the hardest things to attain, but that makes it so much more worth it! ❤️🌈 #physiostudent #future #hardwork #determination
