‘You’re not wrong about that.’, RJ agreed., ‘Oh no, she already spoiled rotten. You should see what I have planned for her Christmas. It’s quite scary how much she looks like me. I’m concerned for my own safety sometimes’, RJ snorted, ‘He wants full custody. It’s growing to be a struggle. I’m trying to settle with us having joint custody because it would be easier for us...but Louis being Louis wants to keep conducting our research in China, and I believe it’s about the time that I settled in one place for Reid to start enjoying her childhood.’

Don’t be so hard on yourself for staying with him for so long”, she told her friend. “Have you sought legal advice? There must be some way to fight it”. She knew how important RJ’s work was to her; she didn’t want her friend to lose that. “He just really wants to see his mom… she hasn’t been replying to his letters and she only calls once every few weeks. We want to make sure that we’ve tried everything to maintain that relationship, even if he deserves a more attentive and caring mother”.

 ‘I think I want a refund ’, RJ lightly teased, ‘You’re telling me. I should have just not gotten involve with him in the first place. But he was charming and I genuinely like him..but I guess I can’t complain too much, I did get Reid out of the marriage. ’, the brunette explained, already feeling headache beginning to form. She silently was glad that she had long gotten over her major anxiety about things and found the comfort of a therapist on the weekly or else she’d be a nervous wreck right now. ‘Yes, I do have a fairly good lawyer. It’s just trying to come up with settlement is horrible. Louis wants full custody of her, and I’m not about to let that happened since he’s always gone. It was just easier for us, and I just want what Reid wants.’, she truthfully explain to her longtime friend, ‘Yeah, that can be difficult when your parent is in jail. I’m hoping things turn around, but at least he has you in the picture, Lo!’

One thing about RJ that hadn’t exactly changed over the years was the fact was she was still highly awkward. ‘’Well, your certainly still as bold as ever..but we grew up, so to avoid the awkward conflict, yes. ‘

'From the stories that Ryder has told me, Noah still hasn't changed much from college..so that doesn't surprise me. ', RJ replied with a playful tone as she shook her head, ‘I mean yes, I got your dream career..but it’s kinda on hold right now since all of my studies are being conducted in China and my husband wants to be an ass and try to take it all from her’, her tone going sour at the thought of it, ‘Sorry, I get annoyed when I think of it. ’

Are the two of you any closer to reaching a settlement or figuring out things with work?” she asked. “I’ve been good, just a little busy. We’re currently in the process of organizing prison visit access for Matthew so that he can see his mom and it’s taking a lot longer than we expected”.

'I can tell you I definitely wouldn’t sign up fro this. ', RJ teased lightly, trying to make the best of her situation, ‘Well, you know Louis..he’s business all the time. Sometimes I wonder how I manage to stay married to him for over 9 1/2  years. And no, he’s wanting to try to control everything..although it’s half of my work too.’, the brunette sighed heavily. ‘Well, I’m certainly glad that you’re doing that for him. The kids deserved a break! ’

'You’re telling me..I tried to beg him to come, there’s no convincing that grump to do anything that he doesn’t want to do.', RJ resisted the urge to roll her eyes, ‘Of course, yeah she’s 8 now..and looks the mini version of me that it’s scary. But she’s excited to see everybody again’, the brunette smiled fondly at the older brunette, happy at the fact they had became such good friends again, ‘Thanks, Lo. I figure things would go so much easier if Louis and I could finally reach a decision about custody of Reid. I just don’t want this to be hard for her. ’

Hadley had been hoping that RJ would attend the reunion so that she could have an opportunity to talk to the other woman without Ezra being present. It was no secret that the two of them had hated each other during university but now that RJ was dating Ezra (again), she felt like it was time to talk and maybe resolve things. She didn’t want to hate her best friend’s partner for the rest of her life. “Hey, I come in peace”, Hadley said with a small reassuring smile as she approached RJ. “I was actually hoping that we could talk”.

RJ had been alittle hesitant with seeing some of the people at the reunion especially once that she didn’t have the best history with, but she had grown past it so why not try it? Especially after her and Ezra rekindling their college romance, it seemed that things were going on the right track in her life. She was happy. Her eyes widened slightly at the appearance of Hadley, already knowing that they had a very complicated past. ‘Oh, this is definitely a surprise’, she responded with a small laugh.,’Of course, what would you like to talk about? ’
