Why my boyfriend is great

I know a lot of my friends and people who have met my boyfriend dont like him. Little do they know he’s the type of guy to ask me how my friends are doing and if I say they’re not okay he’ll ask me why and try to think of something that we can all do together to make them feel better. He’s the type of guy to put aside the fact that someone doesn’t like them and still pay for their dinner or tell them he wants to buy them a drink. He’s the type of guy who looks at two kiddos and a dad trying to grab their ball out of the lake and says “man, i would go in there to grab their ball for them but i cant right now.” Yeah. He didnt do it but i saw how distracted he was because he was trying to figure out how he could help them. The thing is, he doesnt care what you think of him because he knows how rough this world is and if you have the time to hate on him, that’s fine but he’ll still try to go out of his way to make sure youre okay. If he feels like im uncomfortable or feel scared in an area or thinks there could possibly be someone there that could hurt me he will physically pull me closer and put himself a little bit behind me or in front of me. He watches love movies and even gets emotional over them. He’ll know when im feeling insecure about myself he’ll grab my face and kiss me and tell me im beautiful. We’ll go to the mall and he’ll grab things that look funny and excitedly show them to me. If he buys something he’ll ask me if i want something too. Whenever he goes into a store he asks if i want a drink or snack. If im upset and he feels it, he wont stop bothering me until i start smiling. We cuss at each other and talk to each other like we have no respect for each other, but behind closed doors and when the time is needed, he’s an amazing guy. But I dont need someone perfect. I dont need someone who my friends or family approve of. I need someone like him. And i have it. He’s embarrassing sometimes, he’s a handful a lot of the time, but i lived my whole life under such strict ruling. And with him, it’s all carefree and we can be as embarassing and as stupid as we want. So you can tell me he’s not a good guy, and you can tell me he’s not my type of guy. You can tell me it wont last, and you can tell me hes kind of an asshole. You can also tell me what he believes in is wrong, and that he’s vulgar and innapropriate. I dont care. If youre as forgiving as you are judgmental, maybe we wont have a problem.
