Kevin Mac Live in the Burg!

@theKevinMac is Playing Live at Hard Times Cafe - 4 Mile Fork Tonight!
By Christopher P. Keyser - @CPKeyser
I hope you still have time to call a babysitter, call a ride and get your hair done. Kevin Mac is playing live at the Hard Times, 4 mile fork, TONIGHT! If you have heard of Kevin, it’s because he has been playing music in VA for many years. I met him in his teens, hustling, doing everything he could do to play music.. He did the weekend overnight shift at 93.3 WFLS. He has come a long way.
Always practicing and singing, even in the old days when he played at Old Mill Park on a rainy 4th of July, and when he would bring his guitar to play music during his overnight shift on the radio. Kevin has worked really hard for a long time because he has known what he wanted to be since he was a child. A Country Music Star and he is closer than ever.
Kevin has won State Fair competitions, toured with Kenny Chesney, worked with Teddy Reilly on a dope version of No Diggity, and opened up for Kansas this past October at the WFLS Chili Fest. He is a local star in Virginia Beach and it is spreading quickly. See him live and you will know why!
Kevin isn’t your average country singer, in my opinion; he is a lot more fun. Kevin is a good Christian boy who is in love with life and chasing a dream. It helps that he has wonderful parents, a good voice, great at playing the guitar and one of the best I have ever seen live on stage. Any stage. Kevin is energy, positivity and talent wrapped up in one big show. It can’t help but be contagious.
If you get a chance to go to the show, you should really check it out. You will be able to say that you saw Kevin Mac in a bar in Fredericksburg, one day when you are watching the Country Music Awards in a couple of years.

The Spotsylvania Towne Centre's Concert in Lights
The Spotsylvania Towne Centre’s Concert in Lights
By Christopher P. Keyser - @CPKeyser for @FXBGENT
At 7:30 the Village area of the Towne Centre was jammed with people on the kick off to the new Concert in Lights Celebration. Hundreds of people with their attention focused on Lisa Ann Walter, who I remember from the Parent Trap and Bruce Almighty, as she began the countdown with a man who looked like he owned the mall. I didn’t catch his name. (It’s a blog, not a news report!) The actual Concert in Lights was fun to watch and my 2 year old enjoyed dancing to the music. He enjoyed the five or so minute light show and so did the people around me. I was expecting a little more, but my expectations are sometimes exaggerated because of my creativity… Sorry. I am sure my family will see the lights at least 5 or 6 times this year, if not more.
On a side note, I want to thank the people at the Spotsylvania Towne Centre. I know for a fact, the system was very expensive. They own the rights to the software and exclusivity in this area of Virginia. They spent a lot of money. They invested in music, lights, trees, and they also invested in this community by giving people a place to come together and celebrate the holidays. They started what will be a new tradition for families that will bring a lot of people to the mall this holiday season. I know my family bought a $50 coat for my son that we would have bought somewhere else if we were not there for the lights. They also extended this Christmas shopping season.
The benefit to extending the Christmas shopping is a way of spacing out the costs of gifts and allowing people to buy over a longer period of time. People have become smart shoppers with the economy. With the ongoing light display this should drive a lot of people to the mall, and to the stores. It’s a great business move, it’s good for the community, bad for traffic, but I always respect a company that re-invests in their product. Enjoy the lights.
