Utopia Drops A Teaser Image For Their Comeback

Conceptual group, Utopia, was last seen as a group back in January, and split into a unit back in May, and have finally reunited as one for a comeback this month. With the hiatus of a few members in between the months, fans were worried about there not being a comeback with all the members, but as the good news of each member returning to their group it seems that there will be a full cast for this comeback.

There was nothing left concept wise but a bright imaged photo with multiple different images in the background and the words “Why So Serious”. According to what this photo says, just image wise, many already believe the comeback to be a high energy comeback. There’s still more information to be filled in, so keep a look out for the next teaser release.

UTOPIA’s Cosmo seen crying after getting called names by brutal fans.

Lately, Utopia’s Cosmo had been under fire when rumors about his sexuality sparked all over the internet. Netizens had been around investigating and can most likely confirm that the it-boy idol is indeed gay. Although there’s no confirmation about this issue, nor 2K had spoken about it, Cosmo remained silent. 

Today, Cosmo attended a music program to watch and support his cousin, Swan and her group  Aconite. During the media/paparazzi shoot, he got called names, harsh ones by the fans that are waiting outside. Some even threw  things towards him. He was seen crying and rushing his way inside and avoided getting interviewed.

Utopia’s Cosmo is the latest idol to be caught up in a dating rumor this week.

Utopia’s visual member Cosmo(Kang Jinkyu) is currently ablaze with dating rumors because he was captured dating with a transgender male from the past.

Recently, various past pictures of Cosmo have been uploaded on many online community boards. Some of them have discovered pictures to support the possibility that they might be involved in a relationship, such as one picture of them wearing the same T-shirt. Cosmo in the picture looks as if he is on a date with a famous ulzzang. 

He is also celibate. As we all know in the past he use to date but now that he’s an idol he is suddenly celibate!? I think this is attributed to the fact that he might be gay and he knows that if the public finds out big consequences will follow. I don’t really think he is celibate but that he’s just saying that so In interviews if he is asked about his sexuality or questions about relationships he can say that he is celibate and not have to answer any more deep questions.

UTOPIA’s visual line: Cosmo and Eden posed for Litmus Clothing 2017

Utopia’s visual line: Cosmo (@cosmojnkyu) and Eden (@edensi) has taken on a comfortable, dandy look for fashion brand ’LITMUS’!

Last year, only Cosmo took part as the new face of the said clothing brand, but this year he is joined by fellow Utopia member and visual line, Eden, who just came back from his short hiatus break. What a comeback!

The boys took part in ‘LITMUS’s new 2017 S/S Collection, the two visuals looking as handsome as ever! In fact, there were so many handsome and lovely photos from the collection, we couldn’t quite include all of them. UTOPIA’s sub-unit SHANGRI LA, held an art exhibit in their debut showcase + 2K artists attended the said double event!

On May 25, 2K Entertaimnent’s Utopia sub unit: Shangri la held a showcase and an art exhibit all at the same time  to promote their debut mini album “Fresco”. 

As with the unit’s first release, the tracks on “Fresco” were produced and composed by Utopia’s Eden, who didn’t participated on being a vocal unit member. It’s been three years since Utopia debuted, yet they just started promoting in units this year. 

The overall theme and concept of the said unit debut is art. Mixing art and music together to create the Unit’s image. With this, Shangri La didn’t just held a normal album showcase, but also opened an art exhibit, which displayed various artworks related to the album by various artists in Seoul. The art exhibit opened around 4:00 pm, while the showcase started around 7:00 pm as soon as the exhibit closed. 

Blush’s Kimiko (@kimoriz) also performed as the opening act for the showcase. The Blush member and soloist gave and electrifying performance of  three of her songs from her solo debut album: Paradise, Superwoman and Find me, in which she received a standing ovation from the audience.

All of this happened in  Bluesquare Samsung Card Hall in Seoul where 2K artists attended to see this revolutionary event unfold, and to celebrate art and music as one.

       SHANGRI LA Is Art Personified In COLOR  MV

The vocal unit of UTOPIA, called SHANGRI LA makes their debut with a gorgeous, artsy music video! On May 23, the unit released their latest title track, “COLOR (Every Afternoon),” from their unit debut  mini album “FRESCO.”

Shedding their darker concept in Utopia, members Hans (@i87cm), Cosmo (@cosmojnkyu), Jihwan  (@94jihwan), Theo ( @95theokim), and J. Seok ( @jseokjin) made their unit debut with a more gentle yet charismatic look. The mellow yet powerful track fits this change and showcases each member’s strong talents. Meanwhile, the accompanying music video is ethereally beautiful as it tells the tale of the members reflecting on a lost love. It is also revealed that Utopia member Eden ( @edensi) helped with the mvs direction.

In other news, the unit’s debut showcase will be held at  Bluesquare Samsung Card Hall in Seoul   in the 25th of May, and many 2K artists are said to attend the Art Exhibit themed showcase.

After three years, Double Kill’s famous boy group Utopia finally debuts a sub unit by the name of Shangri-La. The sub unit is missing their sixth vocalist, but due to a hiatus the member has declined participating and instead has produced the entire album for Shangri-La, this member being no other than Eden.

The experimental/conceptual male idol group Utopia, finally revealed their first sub unit which consists 5 of it’s vocal line. Today they released their highlight medley for “Fresco” that includes 5 songs that sounded softer and slower than Utopia’s sound.

Shangri La have finally released an MV teaser for their upcoming unit debut “Color”!

This teaser shows scenes that is similar and visually pleasing like art films, including a scene on a gas station enveloped by smoke, the pool that is scattered with flower petals, and canvases that allude to the group’s album title.

Utopia’s Cosmo and Flytrap’s Mint: to collab with three new faces?

On May 16, 2017 Utopia’s Cosmo (@cosmojnkyu) uploaded an image on his instagram account with Flytrap’s Mint (@minntti​) and three unfamiliar faces that is rumored to be 2K’s trainees. The following names are revealed to be Liam (@choikiyoungs95​), Lucas (@96liangs​) and Spade (@spadeuu). On it’s description, it says “May 17, 2017 on Soundcloud” which clearly meant that Cosmo will release an original song and update his soundcloud again after a very long time.

On other news, Utopia’s sub unit Shangri La, in which Cosmo is in, recently just uploaded their group teaser images for their unit debut on the 23rd. Check it out here. Are you excited for both projects?

UTOPIA’s Sub Unit: Shangri La released group teasers and unveiling the Mini Album name: Fresco

Utopia fans, you best get excited because it seems that the group’s sub unit Shangri La  is gearing up for their unit debut!

The unit had been dropping individual teaser images on Twitter a week ago. Today they released another set of teaser photos and it’s of all the members including Hans, Cosmo, Jihwwan, Theo, and J.Seok ! Like the individual teaser, the unit seems to stick with their artsy concept. 

Meanwhile, they finally unveiled the mini album’s name: Fresco. Which is a type of painting done in watercolors. Get a look at the teasers images below and check back for the full release on May 23!

Double Kill released the debut schedule for Utopia’s first sub unit: Shangri-La!

Recently, 2K announced the debut of Utopia’s first sub unit: Shangri-La. The unit is said to be composed of fie of Utopia’s vocalists, with the exception of Eden, who recently just came back after a short hiatus. Shangri-La is also announced as the total opposite of Utopia. Shangri-la’s sound is more focused on the vocals. They aim to showcase a more mellow, soft image than their usual dark and Fantasy one in Utopia.

Today, as they gear up for their unit debut, Double Kill finally released the full schedule for the unit. They also announced the opening of an art exhibit  at gallery located in the Itaewon District, to premier it’s art film.

UTOPIA reveals upcoming vocal line sub-unit: Shangri La!

Last year, 2K announced a possible unique promotional strategy for one of 2K’s old groups, Utopia. . With this, 2K decided to promote Utopia further by debuting sub-units. The conceptual group is said to be divided in two units: a vocal unit, and a rap duo. Today, they finally announced the sub unit for the vocal line: SHANGRI LA.

Shangri-La is one of the two Utopia sub units that consists of the entire group’s vocalists. The sub unit’s main focus is to showcase the group’s powerhouse and diverse vocals, while displaying  a soft, mellow yet strikingly elegant and artistic concept that Utopia doesn’t normally visualize. Their expected sound still has the art pop elements that utopia has, but milder.
