I have some headcanon on how Soundwave looks during the war :0, with him being a gladiator in the past and that one panel of him in idw having his faceplate blow off, i like to think what is left of his faceplate through out the war isn't worth keeping at least to Soundwave himself, we do know that Soundwave go through alot of frame and system modifications so it isn't off that he would have removed his faceplate completely when there were nothing to save :/
Mainly like this idea because it shows how much Soundwave lacks understanding of himself to the point he doesn't believe his own faceplate matters when he have "the cause", he have no individuality beyond the most basic and it got worst as time go on :0, Soundwave having little individuality and Starscream having strong personality would make their interactions so interesting with how opposite their they are to each others :0

some of you think ‘nuanced’ only means ‘morally grey’ and I’m here to tell you that actually straight up good characters can still be nuanced and unapologetically evil characters can still be nuanced. the character doesn’t have to be an anti hero or morally dubious to have depth. they don’t even have to feel sorry about their crimes to have depth.

This petition alone might not be enough, but everything we can throw at this counts.

“average person eats 3 spiders a year” factoid actualy just statistical error. average person eats 0 spiders per year. Spiders Georg, who lives in cave & eats over 10,000 each day, is an outlier adn should not have been counted

Thinking about this bit after doing the panel redraw and I'm struck again by how silly Drift is being here. He's partly making light because talking about his overdose likely makes him uncomfortable, and there is of course his usual habit of winding Ratchet up by bringing God into the conversation, but he's being... just... a lot more comical than usual. You don't see this level of goofiness from Drift anywhere else-- except, perhaps, the deleted "haunted hands" scene: another charged, barbed, frankly rough encounter with Ratchet. And in that case, it's Ratchet who initiates the hilarity (half prank, half actual assault), provoking Drift to reciprocate.
Drift is a serious guy who happens to have a sense of humour. Ratchet, on the other hand, is a fun guy whose life took a serious turn. He jokes around; he pulls pranks. He's the party ambulance. Problem is, when you're a weatherbeaten super-medic at the end of a four-million-year war, people take you seriously. Which means that when he walks into Swerve's at the beginning of that scene and greets everyone with a joke, nobody laughs. Drift is doing more than just pulling his chain here; he's throwing him a bone. He's meeting him at his level. He's saying, nobody else will play with you, but I will. The haunted hands scene can be read as a response to this invitation. It's good, guys. Dratchet is good.
#augh. brilliant#i do love dratchet. i love dratchet a lot#drift has objectively one of my favourite designs and ratchet is my fav autobot in general#i always adore a grumpy bastard with a heart of gold#tf posting#really good analysis op
