GAME. …… This was strangely too reminiscent to the way the battles went when he and Takeru played. The exact same scenario, even. He was getting flashbacks. His long fingers had been too jumbled up with pressing random buttons in a panic when his Kirby was launched across the stage, just a blue blur in motion. He didn’t even see it coming. And then it was painfully silent, his button mashing coming to a halt as they both watched his Kirby plummet to its demise into the abyss. Tooru’s cheeks coloured, embarrassment steadily rising.

On top of it all, he was called lame again…! He could just see the metaphorical bubbles above his head with both Takeru and Himari’s faces calling him lame over and over again. Uwaaa !!

“O-Of course I wasn’t going easy on you !! That was just, uhh, a, a warmup! Yeah! You were much better than I expected and it took me by surprise!” Tooru smiled nervously, rubbing the back of his head. His hands settled on the remote again. “How about round two?” Now that he got a glimpse of what could happen, he was ready this time.

He was totally underestimating her! There was no way she could let that stand, especially since he appeared to be lying to save her pride. Oh she would show him, Himari Kobashigawa was not a girl to be messed with (especially when she was playing as kirby).

She’s restarting the match before he can even get the rest of his sentence out, an obvious pout pasted on her features as her eyes hone in and focus on the (slightly small) screen propped up on the desk, the grip on her controller almost enough to crush the plastic if she put her mind to it. The countdown ends and she makes no effort to move.

She was gonna force him to make the first move. It would be much harder for him to throw the game that way, either that or both Kirbys would sit on screen motionless until time ran out. Either way, she refused to win if it wasn’t with her own skill. It just didn’t feel right.
