“The Good and the Bad: How Social Media Affected Me as a Gen Z Individual”

There is a good effect of Social media to the generation z or what we call it millennials. Some of the millennials like us are using social media to express our feelings and share our ideas and gets encouragements from others and that’s the way we gain our self-confidence and those introverts individuals would also express their ideas without worrying so much. We millennials also found friends on social media where we can communicate with and share our own thoughts. Generation Z interacted with social media and technology and how it influences their online and social relationships. The purpose of social media is to connect with friends and family and also other people to make friends with them to share information and to communicate each other. But  as most of us inhabit a fluid digital and physical world in which the demarcation between them is less clear and teens are not the only ones negotiating their balance.

Generation Z is more interacted with technologies especially in social media where we can communicate, posting pictures, posting our what we feel now, etc. Social Media affected me as Generation Z individual where we easily communicate with our friends, looking for latest updates and learning through technology.  As a generation Z Individual social media affects me in good in various aspects on my daily life. Social media is very beneficial in communicating and interacting with friends. Also there bad effects of social media, it distracts myself from sleeping early cause social media entertains me without having a track about the time. Social media also show unrealistic views of other people's lives and peer pressure.

“Give concrete situations that you have observed digital divide, and as a student, what simple steps can you do to bridge the gap of this digital divide?”

We are living in this what we called " Modernized World", we are living in a community wherein new technologies and methods are being used as a tool for our daily lives. This new generation brought big changes to each of our communities including economic and methods and because this new methods of life in this generation not all individuals are capable of coping up with it specially our elders wherein they are born way back before that has no new technologies to aid the methods of their lives so it is expected that they will have difficulties on using this new technologies, another reason is they are old enough on engaging this kind of trends wherein they don't really know how these works but for us new Generation of human we are obviously tasked to help our elders on coping up with the new world we are building. Digital Divide doesn't generally mean that one can't use certain technology but it means that the there is a difference between the technology they are using.

There are many situation wherein we experienced Digital Divide but the most common reason I observed is when I am using  my mobile phone my grandmother is always confused of how it works so as a new generation of Individual it is a task to help her cope up of how it works. Another situation is whenever my grandmother wanted to listen some music and because our elders was born way earlier than us it is expected that they are using the old technology that was new to them back then so in order for us to close the gap we should introduce them to the new technologies which performs the same task which is way more better than their old technology.

“The Setbacks of Piracy”

The online piracy is one of the common issue that existing in our society nowadays. Copying and owning the ideas and information of others without the real owner's permission can be called as an illegal act. Piracy refers to unauthorized duplication of copyrighted content, the legal act of duplicating, copying, or sharing a digital work without the permission of the copyright holder, a violation of copyright law. It was stealing, if you are caught to copying and distributing illegal copies of information, software, or to the internet, you could be held liable under both civil and criminal law. Copyright owners worry that the bill will leave the online service providers without any responsibility for policing their own networks. 

As an individual mainly speaking my thoughts about setbacks of privacy, sometimes it is important to have a right to be let alone, or freedom from interference or intrusion. It is also significantly to have some control over how your personal information is shared or collected and used. Setbacks of our privacy the progress how our private informations are transfered to other individuals the progressive acquiring of the privacy. Piracy has a negative effects especially in our economy because of the consumers who buy piracy or illegal copyrighted movies that prices are low and easy to watch instead of watching movies in Cinemas that may help the film industry and it can give you the best quality of the movie. Selling of Piracy movies is illegal and against the law. Once you are caught by the authority, you can face the heavy consequences. It is the number one enemy of technology and film industries because piracy can make them down.

“Significance of Print, Broadcast and New media”

Media refers to the groups that communicate information and news to people. Print media, broadcast media, and new media is the most advantage that static nature allows for indefinite exposures also, someone could study or watch advertisements, using digital or internet and more to read through interesting content and format. These media categories from what are commonly referred to as traditional and new generations of media.  Print, broadcast and new media are interrelated to each other because we found and gather good facts information by using this medias. This medias existence are helping each individuals who have this ideas that needs a support to make their own information strong and more reliable. This are the only sources that can make and help us to improve our ideas to be able to share with others what are our thoughts about things with a reliable supports. Print Media, Broadcast and New Media are the types of media that simply refers to a message delivery system to carry a message to a targeted audience. The main task of the types of media is to select the most appropriate media channels that can effectively communicate the advertising message to a targeted audience. Currently, these types of media give information and entertainment to the public. 

Print Media, Broadcast Media, and New Media are the platforms where information is distributed but these three differs in the period they where in. Print Media is somehow the oldest form of media wherein it uses paper, printing press and etc. as the vessel of information. Broadcast Media is the longest running period of media platform wherein it is still in use now, the information is broadcast through television and radio, this was also the most credible source of information, and a lot of people mostly prefer using these type of vessel for information. New Media is the latest platform of media wherein it uses technology and internet to instantly distribute the information to all the individuals that are connected through the internet and also New Media is a combination of old to new form of media because. These three are related to each other because each one of them delivers information, news, updates and these three platforms allow us to know what is happening in our society. These forms of medias allowed us to know what is currently happening around us since the traditional period. As we humans continue to live media will also be there, still be able to deliver what's new about our lives. Media allowed our society evolve in a way that once idea or innovation will be showcased through these platforms and will allow others to know about it, also media will keep our communication flow wherein we will be able to share, argue, or even contribute some opinion and ideas. Print, Broadcast, and New media are very beneficial in the delivering or information in the past civilization. This platforms are interrelated in terms of the sharing of ideas, thoughts, and information. They are also common in paving way for development of humanity this media platforms impacts significantly in our daily lives.

Replacing print and broadcast to the new media is not a great idea because its not all the people existing here on earth knows how to use the new media or knows what new media is. Some of us are just relying on broadcast and print media where they think its more easier to use than the new media. Those people who are born with the traditional media era are probably against about this idea because it may be old but it is still powerful and useful for oldies.  Many people decide to get the information from apps that are on their gadgets that we used for nowadays because it is convenient to read. In past years, we used newspapers, books and radio to read and listen to important information but now they don't use it anymore because it is easy to search and find some information. Witnessed the emergence of new media such as interactive computer based devices like multimedia PC’s, mobile phones, computer, and  internet. All of these are made possible through new advances in information technology that devices are now regularly used at work or at home by a majority of people, and influence has extended deeply to all sectors of society, including work, leisure, education, health care, government and the arts. Social Media has played a major impact on how we receive our daily news. Many people decide to get the news from apps that are on their phone because it is convenient to read. With this increase in the use of digital media as a news source, it is interesting to consider whether print media will become extinct. Print media has been around for a very long time. Both of these institutions are made for us and for the people. Without media, we wouldn’t be able to be updated on daily news, what’s happening in our some parts of our country and the whole world. Without the government, who will help us when it comes to economy, disaster and heath response, justice and the needs of the people? Media and Government are separated to each other. People are stating that some news that are accounted for are one-sided, yet the administration is stating that it's definitely not.  Therefore, people are controlled. As a student, this has became a part of our routinary activity like catching latest news on television checking out current events on the internet, sending and receiving text messages and calls, checking notifications and updates in social media and doing research for subject-related matters. With the help of Information Literacy as an Individual we gain new information which will add up to our knowledge and then we tend to evaluate and elaborate this information or idea and effectively use it for our own good that will also affect others. As we gain new informations and as we innovate these informations we are able to share these to others, we are able to pass to the people whom we are connected with the help of Media. Media is a very big essential in terms of spreading informations, the informations that we gain every day could not be possible without the help of Media and its different forms. As a rational being we should be fed with informations that will help our lives better, make it more easier, be well informed of our surroundings, be knowledgeable enough to cope up with whatever is happening to our nation in terms of government and our safety during a disaster, these informations will never reach every one of us without the help of media.
