Dozed off after my alarm, but only by 30 minutes. Still waiting for the heat to break here in Toronto. At least I don't have any errands to run today?

Visiting my parents house on the hottest day of the year; their pool (they don't have one IRL) is full of folks swimming, a few of which are wearing drysuits full of cold water to stay cool. I try to take and post a photo of that to social media, but my phone won't let me select the photo after I've taken it

And trying to join the swimmers later doesn't work because they all leave and take the water with them

I'm visiting some kind of theme park focused on movie making. Lots of horror content, not enough of other genres. I tease one of the performers who sounds like Patrick Warburton and see myself out.

I've joined a hoi polloi kind of fellow at a cafe for a bite; everything he's ordering has chocolate in it somewhere

Because I'm up in York Region, I've got a long way to go to get to my softball game so I have to duck out of dinner early and grab a bus back south but oh no it's snowing in June

Trying an earlier wake up time this week to get around the oppressive heat. Also the power outage yesterday got cancelled so I'm out money AND the power still went out for three hours because of a hydro issue.

Japan travel dream! We're around Shinjuku primarily.

We stumble across a Warner Bros restaurant that has an animatronic show with Bugs Bunny on the roof; I take video

Whoops my shorts have disappeared, we need to find new ones

We're taking a bus someplace and my wife strikes up a conversation with a Korean woman who speaks Hungarian as well

Then my wife is driving us someplace at night and skids into a snowbank; we agree not to bother with leaving Tokyo, there's plenty to do in the vicinity

Finally there's some comedy involving a guy who had his wallet "stolen" but really just drank himself into a stupor

Wait, where did our luggage go? Did we remember to bag check out at Shinjuku?

There's going to be a power outage today in the afternoon, on the hottest day of the year. This is not going to be fun. Trying to get a co-working space somewhere.

First dream was about a roller coaster that was already elevated, like multiple inversions and whatnot but the starting platform was already near the lift hill

Next was me trying to find a hotel or something for my group in San Francisco; there was an all inclusive in Alcatraz

Next I'm at the airport/shopping mall to get a ride some to Toronto, but nothing is available. I get lost and find the Polynesian dance troupe. My wife and I hope our luggage is back at the hotel

Finally I'm at Niagara Falls trying to stay out of the way of some steam trains and getting an Uber with four-abreast seating to get home

Much better sleep, a lazy Sunday ahead of me.

The bulk of the dream was focused on a giant robot fighting game, at times a turret shooter, at times a third person perspective, and thankfully plenty of continues for when I inevitably screwed up

I think there were two opposing factions to my protagonist - one truly evil, one former allies who were either corrupted or convinced my character was in the wrong

There was a manga explaining the story, and I was trying to read ahead

Stayed up too late last night and my body woke up at my weekday time instead of my weekend one. Almost opted to be cranky instead of rested.

Reading a brochure about retiring at Disney world

Me pissing off a friend by discussing how I'm an atheist (joke is IRL they are as well)

Making breakfast but leaving it sit for like 45 minutes because I'm distracted

Some clearly Star Trek III inspired scenes of Kirk starting the self destruct on the Enterprise (by throwing something electric into the bathtub?)

And then in my dream I'm sharing this stuff with my wife when a chorus line of singers breaks into the bedroom

All I've got in memory are fragments. Mostly good ones, though! At least no major plotlines to follow.

Parents are joining wife and me on a trip to Disney World in the States then to Glasgow and Disneyland Paris

As we're packing, I'm listening to Meat Loaf and it's a song that doesn't exist IRL, "The Kind of Friend (I Never Was)"

I'm watching a video on future expansions, like buying a shopping mall adjacent to the property for more expansion

Meanwhile, the characters are doing a parade through Epcot because all the rides are down; I catch up with Mary Poppins and Bert having some funny dialogue

What in the fresh hell was that, brain. Is this what you do when you get snacks before bed?

I'm in Amsterdam, I think, and trying to control a tram using a TV remote (like volume buttons for brakes and acceleration)

I'm going to meet up with a friend for a meal, but trying to get through the Reijksmuseum crowds is tough

I think there's a massive auditorium or food hall or something that we walk past

I want Indian food, she wants Indonesian, she wins the argument

As she's ordering, I'm trying to find a toilet, but there's only one washroom nearby and two of the stalls are out of commission

When I get back, friend has ordered and I'm distracted by a fight sequence going on nearby

When the fight sequence ends, friend and I have to book it out of the museum/restaurant before it explodes

Flashback: some stuff involving the Looney Tunes characters in a "hero sacrifices themself but they survive ingeniously unbeknownst to their significant other until the final chapter* which is why the museum is rigged to blow

Another day up before my alarm. After cooking up a storm yesterday, looking forward to not spending as much time in the kitchen today.

I'm trying to shower but the options are either busy, in view of the public, or not waterproof.

I'm doing this because I'm supposed to be heading to Halifax with folks on a grad trip; intentionally leaving the Switch behind despite taking the train to get there

I think there's a fantastical version of Toronto Union station involved too?

Beginning to realize that I need more sleep. Not just for the dream journal, in general. I get cranky otherwise

Dealing with an ant infestation in the bathroom of my parents house

Ugh Monday.

Only thing I remember clearly is having one of my cats get a case of the runs and poop all over the floor of our hotel room while we're watching TV

I think there was some Super Mario Bros movie trailers, like for the sequels?

And I was walking to a school while a World War II bomber flew overhead

Slept in past my alarm. Also realizing how much leaves my head if I don't start writing this as soon as I wake up.

The first dream of the night started with me trying to cook omelettes without my parents interrupting

I end up eating mine in a cathedral, in which I spot an assassin enter the ceremony

I end up as a suspect along with the assassin and three other guys, but I can't tell anyone I saw the dude's face until there's privacy

Somehow things shift to a medieval knights scenario where I'm starting to help them understand better nutrition and recipes (like introducing them to hummus)

They're sad to see me leave, but I was only supposed to be there for a week

I think there was some kind of hotel restaurant involved at the beginning of the last segment

And that's because my wife and I are on vacation at a theme park. Not Disney, possibly Universal.

We're intentionally taking vehicles to not tire ourselves out

But we still end up having to walk through an arcade and up stairs to find the restaurant we wanted for lunch

We don't see a server for a few minutes, but cookies appear anyway

Then we're whisked into a Western part of the restaurant and told to duel another recent sittee in front of others

Golly I needed that snooze. Time to hurkle durkle until my alarm goes off then start my day.

Combination overnight camp, work training, and United States political scenario (like Mad King Donald is there and picking on me).

I'm falling behind on my coursework because of the above, and I keep asking the other students if they have something, ANYTHING, to get Don off my case or take him down a peg

High school friends seem to be there

I'm getting hooked on a Pokemon video game that is a bit more intense than the usual ones, like permadeath if you run out of Pokemon and I end up having to restart at least once (maybe that's why I'm behind in coursework)

And then my manager asks me to pull together a list of everything assigned to me that's running late and I can't even focus on THAT long enough before things distract me (like the rain outside)

A day off with an early wake-up time? Must be off on an escapade.

The bulk of my dreams were replicating today's journey but scrambled;

I'm in a wheelchair at times for some reason

The bus is starting in the suburbs and going downtown instead of the reverse

It's a double decker with a transparent roof

Once I'm downtown, I buy an apple and a banana for breakfast

The apartment is just at the temperature where it's too warm to comfortably sleep under the duvet and too cold to sleep without it.

A second wedding ceremony, this time a religious one at the synagogue. Dad gets huffy about how pro-Palestine the congregation is. I recognize a few dead relatives, but I can't remember the ceremony itself, just the preparations.

Bees in the kitchen? Or wasps rather. Either way, I don't want to sleep in the ground floor, and move back to my own bedroom

Travel dream that takes me from Phoenix to Sydney and home for work, but I start to doubt my own sanity when I can't remember how the flight from Sydney was

Also struggling with bad UI to claim the expenses

I was in Sydney to film a commercial for a zoo; I take too long and almost miss my flight home!

Showering at my parents place, trying not to soak the clothes that are hanging up to dry; in the process I tear off a fingernail

You ever wonder if your pets know when you're down? One of my cats decided to visit me after I woke up, he could tell I was still mopey after how bad yesterday was.

Visiting the hospital but not anyone in it, like I'm leaving right away

Walking through an arcade and movie theatre foyer, clearly got someplace to be

Run into some elementary school friends, one of whose names I forget, and the mom of another friend

For some reason I'm in the washroom trying to decide on a jersey number for my MLB debut; I settle on 95

Today feels a bit overwhelming. Not sure why. And because I took too long to write this post I'm already losing stuff from my dreams.

Going grocery shopping for a few ingredients for dinner but just before the places close. Wife has to make a choice for a meal and I'm scrambling to get the right things

My usual wakeup routine is messed up by having liquid spilled on my sleep shorts and my night guard being twice its usual size

Something to do with work and having to go into the office (my current position is 100% remote tho!)

And I think there was a travel sequence somewhere in there?

Maybe a cat too?
