Yesterdays was a hectic day because in the morning, our original leaving time, we were told they had kicked us off the plane so they payed for us to stay for a night in a hotel and they get on a plane the next morning. That wasn’t all bad since that allowed us to see a friend that had recently moved to Sydney.

Yesterday, we went to kangaroo island, which is just south of the fleurio peninsula, it was a bit of a drive and it took up most of the day, getting on the ferry at about 3. In the late afternoon, when we got to the air bnb we walked along the beach and then had some nice little pies for dinner.

After Fraser Island we went to another island that was on the barrier reef called heron island. Whilst we were there we went snorkelling and saw sharks and sea cucumbers. Then the next day, we saw baby turtles hatching, this was like our relaxation after the walk.

After our time in Adelaide we went on a 5 day hike on an island in Queensland called Fraser Island. We had to carry all of our food, tents and clothes but it was still a fun trip. Part of this probably came through the sense of accomplishment at the end of every day after walking 12 or 13 km and at most of the campsites there was a nearby lake that was always useful for washing sweat off. We also saw some amazing wildlife like monitor lizards, spiders and snakes.

Yesterday there was a large family gathering, which made things very hectic as we were packing for a 5 day hiking trip. When everyone came the old people said the common things like “do you remember me?” And “you’ve grown so much”. Later me and my cousins retreated to our bedroom to play video games.

On The 14th it was my Birthday! So I opened presents in the morning and then we went to a trampoline park for an hour where there was dodgeball and parkour. Afterwards we had hungry jacks, which is Australian Burger King, which was very nice. In the evening we had some noodles and then a cake made by my dad.

On the 13th me and my cousins went to the pool since it was 28 degrees. It was very fun, we played some Marco Polo and bought some crisps and a drink, we didn’t do much more but eat a really nice meal of prawns and tofu.

Yesterday, was a relaxing day that consisted of building a den and planing some tennis. The den that we built took and hour with parts relying on constant fixing or else they would collapse, yet it was still very enjoyable to be in. Tennis was also really fun and I. The end me and Robert ended up playing a bit of squash!

The day started with me and my cousins creating epic battles with toy soldiers and lying around. Later in the day we were told that we would be going on a guided kayak trip around an island that we were all exited for we saw lots of cool things including a few shipwrecks and a mangrove creek. We learnt that there were 40 shipwrecks there and the mangrove forest we were in fixes 4 times as much carbon as the Amazon! That is because mangroves are more efficient at storing carbon.

After a few days in Melbourne we are traveling with Robert and Cormac to Adelaide. The trip was fun and included taste testing many different flavours of skittles and watching sing 2 . We were picked up by a grandad and went back to our Grandparents house that has a front garden covered in amazing trees and flowers.

After a few days in Sydney we traveled to Melbourne to see my cousins. Robert had a maths test that he needed to revise for so we stayed the night at Diarmuid’s house ( he is a friend of my dad). When we arrived we heard one of Anna’s sons playing the piano( Anna is Diarmuid’s partner ). Then through one more door and we were greeted by two cavoodles, which is a mix a King Charles spaniel and a poodle, who were very nice. The next two days and a half at my cousins (Robert and Cormac) which was really fun, and some of our main activities were going to the pool, playing on the swings and keeping up the balloon. And today we are getting ready to got here Adelaide with them to see our Grandparents!

We landed in Sydney on Monday morning and me and my dad had a nice breakfast at Harry’s. Then we lounged around on the beach for most of the day because of the jet lag.
