Summary: You and Poe get into a argument over a upcoming mission he’s going on

“Why do you have to be so fucking difficult why can't you just listen to me for once in your life” You spat out. You and Poe have been arguing for hours about the mission he was being sent on later that day. “It's a suicide mission do you not realize that?” you said trying to hold back the tears threatening to fall from your eyes. “I'm one of the only people that knows their way around that ship what do you not understand y/n?” He spat out. “The last time you were on that ship you nearly died,” you said “But I didn’t I was fine”  he yelled at you “Why do you even care?” he said lowering his tone. You were taken aback “Why do I care?” You said quietly He looked at you waiting for an answer. “You act like we haven’t been friends for years, Poe,” you said 

 looking at the ground, you could still feel Poe looking at you like he was looking for another 

answer 

silence had filled the room until it was broken by the sound of doors sliding open. “Poe it's time to go” you heard a familiar voice say you looked up slightly and saw it was the general you felt your stomach drop knowing that it was too late to convince him to stay. Leia started to walk out of the room Poe followed, You walked out a couple of minutes later walking to where Poes x wing was parked just to see him already sitting in it prepping to take off.

 He tried to avoid eye contact with you knowing that it would make him feel worse than he already did, You watched as his ship took off and left the atmosphere. You slowly walked to your quarters with tears streaming down your face knowing that the last words spoken to your best friend were so hateful you had never seen that part of yourself come out before what had happened to make you lash out like that…

 Once you had gotten to your quarters you sighed and opened the door you fell on your bed and started thinking about the why you spoke to him like that, you laid on your bed staring at the ceiling for hours trying to figure out the answer to the question Poe had asked all those hours before why did you care so much was it because you and Poe were best friends or was it something else, You thought about the answer a little longer when it came to you... “Do I love Poe?” You said sitting up no no you couldn't love Poe he's your best friend that can't be right you felt your heart beat out of your chest there were all those times when you felt your heart skip a beat whenever he came near you. “I love Poe,” You said as you laid back down on your bed before you could think about it any longer you fell asleep.

 The next morning you woke up to finn knocking on your door telling you to wake up and that Poe should be back soon, you jumped out of bed realizing you never had the chance to change last night, and you ran to the hangar after fixing your hair and changing into new clothes you watched as ships left and entered the atmosphere until you saw one that caught your eye the black and orange one you were always delighted to see you ran over to where Poe had parked 

his x-wing you watched as he climbed out of it smiling you ran to him and tackled him in a hug. “Someones excited to see me,” He said smiling, you too soon separated “I’m sorry,” You said with tears in your eyes You could see that he felt bad. “I’m sorry to you, I shouldn't have yelled at you for being worried,” he said wiping tears off of your cheek, “I have to tell you something,” you said now smiling he looked at you waiting for you to tell him what was on your mind. “I really don't know how to say this but uh I think I love you?” Poe stumbled backward you looked at him for an answer waiting for a response. “I love you too,” he said smiling before you could get any words out he kisses you, You soon realized what was happening and kissed back, A couple of seconds went by before you pulled away “That went better than I thought it would have gone”
