gabby nodded slowly. she wanted to believe the older girl, wanted to believe that it was all just an elaborate ruse because kass and noah were bored. but there was something twisting still in the pit of her stomach that made her question it. “but why?” she couldn’t help but ask, “i mean, say they freaked me out enough for me to go to the police, both of them are more likely to get indicted than i am,” she said, “i mean, i may have been part of covering it up, but it was noah’s idea to do it,” she added, swallowing dryly. “but maybe it was them,” she said, desperately trying to convince herself. “it was julian and me who got the stuff, right? and we’re the outsiders,” she said with word with distaste, “so maybe it does kind of sound like kass and noah, then.”
