Dolby Vision
It's been almost a long time since the send off of the first TVs with Dolby Vision in Quite a while, however the configuration is just now seeing enormous scope use. There are a few key reasons for this. The first is that more brands are selling televisions with Dolby Vision support at much lower prices, and the second is that the list of content that is available is growing. Nowadays, many movies and television shows can be watched in Dolby Vision without spending a lot of money or effort. Despite being a well-known brand, Dolby is typically only associated with audio. So what precisely is Dolby Vision? What effect does it have on what you're watching? And why should you ensure that your subsequent television supports this standard? Find out by reading on. What's Dolby Vision? To duly answer this question, we need to first understand what HDR videotape is. While standard dynamic range videotape at the consumer position generally has 8 bits per sample, high dynamic range( HDR) videotape is anything with 10 bits or further, and a advanced peak luminance. Simply put, HDR videotape makes for better and more accurate colours, has deeper blacks and brighter whites, and is significantly brighter on the whole. There are a many different formats for HDR videotape at the consumer position, including Hybrid Log- Gamma( HLG), HDR10, HDR10, and Dolby Vision. The fourth is the most advanced of the formats, supporting a 12- bit colour depth and a theoretical outside brilliance of 10000cd/ m2 of luminance. This puts it a step above the more wide HDR10 format. Dolby Vision also supports dynamic metadata as compared to HDR10's static metadata, which means that each scene can be independently optimised duringpost-production. Although Dolby Vision is a 12- bit format, it's backward compatible with the HDR10 and HDR10 norms as well. So indeed if you do not have a Dolby Vision-able television, if it does support HDR10, you will be suitable to watch Dolby Vision content, though slightly downscaled when it comes to colours and brilliance. Dolby Vision is developed by Dolby Laboratories, an American company that specialises in developing technology for audio and videotape encoding. The technology is certified by a number of TV manufacturers with a presence in India, including Sony, LG, OnePlus, and Vu, to name a many. While Sony and LG's Dolby Vision TVs are part of their high- end ranges, brands like Vu and Kodak have affordable boxes with the technology. How do I watch Dolby Vision content? There are a couple of ways to do this. The more traditional( and significantly more precious) way is Blu Ray discs. numerous new pictures on Blu Ray also support 4K and Dolby Vision; if you have the right Blu Ray player( similar as the Sony UBP- X700) and a Dolby Vision-able TV, you can watch pictures in the format. The easier way to watch Dolby Vision content is through streaming platforms that support it. Encyclopedically, there are a sprinkle of platforms that support Dolby Vision, including Netflix, Apple TV, Amazon Prime Video, and Disney. In India, only Netflix and Apple TV let you stream pictures and television shows in the format. You do, of course, also need a able streaming device or smart television platform, as well as a television that supports Dolby Vision. While Apple TV offers pictures and television shows either to rent or buy, or through an Apple TV paid subscription, Netflix offers its entire roster in 4K Dolby Vision forRs. 799 per month in India. The ultimate is a better value proposition in our opinion, as Netflix has a massive roster of content in 4K, with important of the UHD content also available in Dolby Vision HDR. What can I watch in Dolby Vision? A quick look online shows a big list of Blu Ray titles that support 4K and Dolby Vision, including popular pictures similar as Casino Royale, It, the Matrix trio, and Pacific Rim Uprising, to name afew. However, that list is indeed larger, If you prefer the ease and cost effectiveness of streaming. Apple TV and Netflix have a huge list of pictures and television shows available in the format. Global workrooms have acclimated to Dolby Vision hastily, and a lot of new pictures and television shows are being mugged with cameras that capture the data demanded to enable Dolby Vision HDR. Studios similar as Netflix are putting the trouble indeed inpost-production, icing that utmost new pictures and television shows look as good as they can on your television screen. still, there is good news on that front, If you are particularly interested in Indian content. Netflix has pushed relinquishment of Dolby Vision in India, and has formerly produced a couple of pictures in India that are available now in the Dolby Vision format; Yeh Ballet was released in February, while Guilty has been streaming since March 6. Dolby Vision does significantly enhance the viewing experience for the bystander, making for a more realistic and clean picture, according to Vijay Venkataraman, Director ofPost-Production at Netflix India. He also developed that relinquishment has been slower in India because of the way effects were done then; with Netflix taking the lead on this, it could mean that further workrooms produce their pictures in the format. Netflix itself will continue to work with Dolby Vision for its forthcoming releases, according to Venkataraman. How does it make pictures and TV shows better? The core benefit of Dolby Vision is, as we mentioned ahead, a wider colour diapason. This makes for pictures and television shows that are more accurate when it comes to colours, brighter, and each- by- each more affable to look at. While a lot depends on the quality of the television itself, Dolby Vision is clearly playing a part in perfecting the signal going to the screen. We have seen Dolby Vision have a significant impact on pictures and television shows that are visually striking; some of our favourite shows in the format are Our Earth, Narcos Mexico, and Stranger effects, while pictures similar as Triple Frontier, Polar, and Bird Box benefit from better colours and brilliance as well. India's kindly late entry to the Dolby Vision party meant that popular shows similar as Sacred Games missed out on the format for its alternate season, as did shows like Jamtara and Delhi Crime. still, 2020 has formerly brought two produced- in- India pictures to the platform in the format- Yeh Ballet and Guilty. “ I was thrilled when I first set up from Netflix that we've the capability to use Dolby Vision for Yeh Ballet, ” says Sooni Taraporevala, pen and director of Yeh Ballet, a movie about two depressed teens who are passionate about ballet dancing. “ To have the option to bring alive a scene on a screen with that position of detail was absolutely awful for me as a director. We had decided on specific aesthetics for all the spaces shown in the film, in terms of colour, discrepancy and wimpiness. Dolby Vision really helped us in retaining these aesthetics in great detail, through to the final affair, ” concludes Taraporevala. Read the full article

Google Pixel 8 Pro Review: New Pixel, Old Problems
The Google Pixel 7 seasoned changed into an awesome cellphone normal. It packed in the whole lot a informal cellphone person could assume from an Android smartphone inclusive of, the now widespread, timely software updates. however it got here up quick in a few regions like battery existence, charging and had its honest share of heating troubles and digicam-related bugs as properly. With the new Pixel eight pro, there is a logo-new layout, lots of AI-enabled features and even a brand new processor. retaining this in thoughts, one might obviously expect Google to have labored on a few if no longer all of the shortcomings of its predecessor. however that's not exactly the case with Google's most modern Pixel flagship. Google Pixel eight pro fee in India not like final 12 months, Google's Pixel eight pro sooner or later offers a higher garage choice in India. After years of complaining approximately imparting a measly 128GB of storage with its base models, Google eventually decided to feature a brand new storage tier in India with the advent of a 256GB version. I obtained the 128GB storage variant for overview that's priced at Rs. 1,06,999 in India, whilst the 256GB variant is to be had at Rs. 1,thirteen,999. As referred to in my first impressions, both the Pixel 8 and the Pixel 8 pro, are Google's maximum steeply-priced Pixel smartphones to launch in India. honestly put, the new top-give up Pixel 8 seasoned has received a fee hike of Rs. 22,000, which instantly places it out of attain of numerous ability consumers. after which you have to keep in mind that even at Rs. 1,06,999, you are nevertheless getting just 128GB of internal garage and no unfastened cloud storage get entry to both. certainly, Google has its fingers full on the subject of convincing its present Pixel users to upgrade to the ultra-modern version this year. And it's possibly one of the motives why you are reading this overview. Google Pixel 8 seasoned overview: layout Google's Pixel 8 pro has seen extra adjustments than the same old Pixel 8 (assessment) this year. basically, Google's engineers got rid of a few pointless stuff and made some refinements to the Pixel 7 seasoned's design. keeping in thoughts its flat display, and normal flatter profile it qualifies as a brand new layout. however it's far an overhaul of sorts as the new Pixel eight pro nonetheless seems enormously Pixel. that is specially down to its sharper, visor-like digicam module on the returned that is as chunky as closing yr's version. The camera module's edges are quite sharp not like final 12 months's model, but i am satisfied Google retained its chunky sticking out look as it makes it less difficult to hold directly to the telephone's as a substitute slippery matte-completed frame by means of resting my index finger underneath it for guide. The matte-completed rear glass panel is a first for Google's Pixel variety and its standard rounded appearance and curves do strike a cord in me of the unique Pixel and Pixel XL smartphones. As slippery as the rear panel is, it's incredible in terms of resisting fingerprints. At 213g the telephone does now not sense too heavy or too mild. This blended with the soft-finished glass returned lends the tool a completely top class and steeply-priced experience. Google also gives an IP68 score which is the same as on closing 12 months's version. build satisfactory is pretty solid and i'm glad Google ultimately bumped off the curved facet show which appeared pointless on a Pixel, for the reason that it by no means had any introduced software program capabilities like on Samsung's smartphones. Google Pixel 8 seasoned review: specifications and software program This yr's Pixel eight pro brings another new chipset referred to as the Tensor G3. it is built the use of the 4nm manufacturing manner, which in addition to its new nona-middle architecture must in idea translate to better overall performance and efficiency. but, Google is more focused on its AI abilities and that is where it's far anticipated to shine. 12GB RAM is general and the cellphone offers as much as 256GB of garage this yr with no expandable garage and no extra SIM card slot. however, you could use the eSIM functionality to use numbers on the same device. In phrases of connectivity, the Pixel 8 pro offers an upgraded WiFi 7 enjoy, Bluetooth five.three, NFC, a USB-C port, ultra-wideband (UWB) aid and aid for several global positioning structures. apart from the same old camera array, there is also a brand new thermometer which may be used to test the floor temperature of diverse materials. Google might be including support for checking frame temperature quickly, which could make it beneficial if it seems to be accurate. The telephone has a five,050mAh battery and helps 30W stressed out charging and 23W wireless charging. but, the field contents don't consist of a supported charging adapter. Going with the AI fashion, Google introduces its new AI wallpaper characteristic which is different to this year's Pixel 8 and 8 pro gadgets. It desires a web connection to paintings but chomps out a few genuinely precise and interesting wallpapers using its AI bits. The rest of Android 14 feels and appears just like what is to be had on a Pixel 7 pro. other new smarts which are available at the Pixel eight seasoned encompass the capability to examine aloud net pages or articles from an internet browser. Google Assistant can even translate an internet web page before analyzing it aloud which is also useful. The operation is nicely palms-unfastened at the Pixel eight pro (I could not get the feature to work efficiently on a Pixel 7 pro), which is useful in case your fingers are busy. The Pixel eight pro's AI modifying equipment, which can be available in its pictures app are jaw-droppingly superb in phrases of functionality. whilst the older Magic Eraser has gotten a lot better over the years, the newly advertised gear nonetheless want a chunk of polish in phrases of output. the new Magic Editor device lets you literally reposition human beings and items in a picture (which has to be uploaded to the cloud). The AI fashions positive are mind-blowing! At times it can get without a doubt difficult to tell if an photo has been edited in any respect. however, pixel-peeping into these photographs typically reveals a few clues. Magic Editor isn't ideal and should get polished with future updates, however it's far a completely effective tool however. The equal can be stated approximately the new quality Take feature which calls for a sequence of pictures of the equal putting so as to paintings. if you happen to have enough pictures of the identical human beings within the same setting, then it is as an alternative hard to inform if an photograph has been edited. Audio Magic Eraser is some other AI-enabled tool, that could impressively understand the sounds in a video. once activated, it listens to the clip and quickly identifies the special sounds after which categorises them (speech, nature, wind, noise and so on.) letting one regulate the stages to bump up the quantity of the sounds they want to listen (speech, nature) over the ones that they want to quieten (noise, wind). at the same time as I did no longer locate the results all that awesome, it's miles interesting to look how the AI model identifies the specific sounds in any given video. As debatable as these photo enhancing features are, i will see a variety of Pixel 8 and 8 seasoned customers assisting many that aren't able to snap 8504ca0e3fb5bfcdbdf1e8263f0c30ef pictures. furthermore, Pixel 8 pro users may look like wizards to elderly folk who usually don't grow to be composing a holiday picture right, and regularly request the unattainable, like shifting the Eiffel Tower a bit to the right. incredibly, all of that and more is now possible the usage of easy drag-and-drop tools. As dazzling because the Pixel eight pro's photographs and enhancing talents are this 12 months, I nonetheless confronted the identical camera worm as on ultimate 12 months's models. The night time Sight worm triggers whilst taking pictures again-to-again snap shots from the digicam app's night mode while transitioning from 1X to 2X. as soon as precipitated, all snap shots captured thereafter do now not get stored within the telephone, leaving one with a digicam on the way to let you click on pictures however no longer store them. The simplest manner to get the camera to begin storing snapped pics again is to restart the telephone or look ahead to the camera app to crash. For long, Pixel smartphones have always been the primary devices to acquire Android software program updates and Google has someway managed to one-up itself on this location with the Pixel eight and Pixel eight pro. Google claims that it's going to offer up to 7 years of software updates which incorporates its quarterly function Drops (that bring new functions) and safety updates. including to this commitment Google additionally defined that it will stock up on spares for those smartphones as nicely, in case your telephone receives broken or stops functioning over the subsequent 7 years. certainly such commitments will enchantment to folks that do not upgrade their gadgets often, however replacing your telephone much less regularly works properly for the surroundings because it additionally reduces e-waste. Google Pixel eight seasoned assessment: performance As for the Pixel eight pro's 6.7-inch QHD+ OLED display, it works properly below vibrant sunlight and shows pretty correct hues whilst set to the herbal shade mode. Its 120Hz dynamic refresh charge, that could drop to 1Hz when not being used, additionally works as anticipated. similar to remaining yr, battery records are not all that exquisite as I frequently found me achieving out for the charger by the give up of a work day with about 20 percentage left round 7:00 PM, after unplugging the phone at round 8:00 AM. in case you grow to be using the digicam and edit numerous images assume the battery stages to drop even quicker. In our video loop battery take a look at, the Pixel eight pro managed to closing for 14 hours and 15 minutes, which is slightly higher than the Pixel 7 seasoned, but not exceptional in comparison to what most smartphones in this section are capable of. Samsung's Galaxy S23 ultra which presently retails an additional Rs. 20,000 managed to last 21 hours and 7 mins in the equal check. at the Pixel 8 pro, most casual and excessive-end video games run just great at default settings. however the phone honestly isn't always as effective whilst compared to its Qualcomm Snapdragon-powered counterparts so don't anticipate faultless frame quotes whilst playing images-intensive titles like Genshin effect or rapid-paced games like call of duty: mobile. The phone does warm up after playing a few call of duty tournaments on ultra settings, however it does not get abnormally warm and that is particularly all the way down to CPU throttling. however, you can actually count on masses of body drops during gameplay as the Tensor G3 isn't truely designed for going for walks demanding titles on the exceptional settings. Ray-tracing, even as being quite new, is likewise now not supported. I additionally found the contact sampling to be a chunk sluggish when playing fast-paced FPS video games. The Tensor G3 in the Google Pixel eight pro controlled barely inferior ratings in comparison to most smartphones in this section and have been far under what Apple's modern-day iPhone 15 seasoned Max is able to. The Pixel eight pro scored 10,38,343 factors in AnTuTu and controlled ratings of one,629 and three,274 in Geekbench's single and multi-core assessments. to present you an idea about where Google's Pixel 8 seasoned stands, the lower-priced OnePlus eleven 5G (QHD+ display) which we reviewed in advance this 12 months scored eleven,89,556 points and Samsung's Galaxy Z flip 5 (FHD+ display) managed a rating of 12,87,359 whilst the iPhone 15 pro Max managed a relaxed lead scoring 16,sixty one,205 points in our evaluation. Google sticking with its own Tensor design for its processor does have its downsides as they have not begun to figure out higher approaches to address all the processing that happens after snapping a photograph. similar to the Pixel 7 seasoned, the Pixel 8 seasoned struggles while shooting Portrait mode snap shots and could forestall shooting photographs (or disable the shutter button) while the picture buffer is complete after clicking around 7-eight portrait mode images in short succession. It does this to finish processing them in the heritage and will let one snap greater pictures most effective as soon as it's carried out processing those that have already been captured. at the same time as this does not appear to be a massive trouble, I did end up lacking several moments at the same time as snapping photos of my youngster. capturing uncooked pictures additionally takes some time to technique, as compared to the iPhone 15 seasoned Max which is almost instant. For a phone it's extra targeted and recognised for its photography features, it is unhappy to see that the latest Tensor G3 SoC isn't always capable of handling the fundamentals. Google in reality has to paintings on the Tensor G3's imaging pipeline or go along with a separate imaging chip completely for dealing with all of its digicam requirements because the modern Tensor G3 processor honestly isn't always up for the process. despite every day utilization, something as easy as scrolling through internet pages and social media apps (even YouTube) can get jittery at instances. Scrolling is jittery while the use of both native and 1/3-celebration apps and this is some thing many users have complained approximately on Reddit as nicely. Google took its own candy time to try to clear up its Pixel 7 pro's scrolling troubles, but these have not begun to be resolved correctly. The telephone nevertheless receives warm whilst using the digital camera app, mainly when capturing extra complex digital camera modes like Portrait and night mode. The telephone also gets quite hot outdoors when related to 5G networks. Google nonetheless does not provide any cooling solution (apart from CPU throttling) with its Pixel phones, which continues them walking heat most of the time when used outside. Many chinese language cellphone manufacturers have adopted vapour chamber cooling to preserve performance ranges at the same time as acting power-in depth duties. This year's Samsung Galaxy S23 additionally utilised the identical, making it run a lot cooler in comparison to its predecessor. So, it's certainly a thriller why Google refuses to include the same in its flagship Pixel smartphones. the brand new and at ease Face release characteristic works as quick as Apple's Face identity authentication, however, it handiest works well (or quick) in excellent lights. Dimly lit settings will see the digital camera struggling to recognize faces, that's when I needed to revert to the best antique fingerprint scanner, which happily labored as predicted. Google Pixel 8 seasoned review: Cameras This year's Pixel 8 pro comes with several enhancements inside the digital camera department as nicely. Key amongst these is the new forty eight-megapixel extremely-huge-attitude digicam which replaces the 12-megapixel digicam on the previous model. there is a new brighter 50-megapixel number one digital camera as properly but I anticipate minor improvements (if any) with this one. the entirety else aside from the brand new Tensor G3 remains the same, which is not a terrible deal because the previous Pixel 7 pro changed into no longer bad at imaging to start with. The digital camera modes had been remodeled at the Pixel eight pro. The Pixel 8 pro mainly this 12 months receives a special seasoned mode called pro Controls, which brings advanced digicam controls for cellphone camera enthusiasts who favor to tweak matters a bit earlier than capturing or even as recording. To be clean, the Pixel 8 seasoned's seasoned Controls mode is not as advanced as the Samsung Galaxy S23 ultra's digicam app which also gives numerous controls for video. The Pixel eight seasoned's seasoned controls appear lots more person-pleasant (designed for the common Joe), and pretty realistic at the same time, easily making it plenty better in phrases of capability and control whilst taking pictures video, even if as compared to an iPhone 15 seasoned Max, I reviewed in advance. not like the Pixel 7 seasoned in which one receives get admission to to brightness, shadow and white balance sliders in the viewfinder when capturing, the Pixel eight pro hides all of its seasoned controls beneath a settings button placed at the pinnacle right nook. Tapping on it offers one access to advanced controls like night time Sight length, brightness, shadow, white balance, awareness, shutter velocity and ISO as properly. I specifically favored the focal point manipulate as it highlights the presently focused region in crimson way to a focus peaking characteristic like on a actual digital camera. Tapping on the standard tools icon at the lowest now opens a complete menu with a special seasoned tab in which you could select the decision (binned or full frame), output kind (uncooked/JPEG) and a completely reachable Lens choice selector, which lets you pick out between car or guide. choosing auto essentially gets you the whole zoom range which additionally includes the digital levels among the local focal lengths (zero.5X, 1X and 5X). The manual receives you access to simply the native focal lengths, which switches off the camera's computerized lens selection. this is useful to keep away from using the wrong camera (which the cellphone mechanically selects depending on the gap of the object/subject from the lens. This regularly leads to digitally cropped and scaled pix. So, in case your problem is just too near for the 5X telephoto digital camera, it just may not attention, letting you already know which you need to hold a more distance to get the suitable shot. Pixel eight pro additionally shall we one shoot in raw the use of all 3 cameras which means you can get high-decision (50 or 48-megapixel) uncooked snap shots which may be tweaked later in the put up. As for the video, pro Controls only lets you tweak white stability and publicity on this mode. The Pixel eight seasoned and Pixel 7 seasoned camera samples were captured in daylight and coffee light the usage of their primary cameras ( Read the full article

Xiaomi Mi TV 5X 55
The budget and mid-range television sectors in India are largely covered by Xiaomi and its Redmi sub-brand, but Xiaomi will always place a premium on value, which also extends to higher-end models. The Mi TV line has been mostly characterised by huge screens, a tonne of features, smart software, and discrete design. The company's most recent television offering, the Mi TV 5X, aims to continue that trend while maintaining the competitive and affordable cost that has drawn customers to the brand. The Xiaomi Mi TV 5X 55-inch Ultra-HD LED Smart TV, which costs Rs. 45,999 in India, looks quite nice on paper and offers capable performance without requiring you to spend a lot of money. Dolby is one of its most important features.Vision, hands-free Google Assistant voice commands, and the union of the company's well-liked PatchWall UI with Android TV 10. Is this the best 55-inch television under 50,000 rupees that is currently available? Learn more from this review. Design and technical details of the 55-inch Xiaomi Mi TV The Mi logo had previously been included on televisions from Xiaomi's Mi brand, but the Mi TV 5X marks a significant change. The Mi TV 5X, although though it's still referred to as a "Mi TV," demonstrates the business's decision to move to "Xiaomi" as its brand name on future products, as was stated by the company. The new Xiaomi logo is prominently shown just below the screen, above the module with the power button and a few indicator lights. It is displayed on a silver strip. The Mi TV 5X distinguishes out from the competitors and other televisions from Xiaomi like the Redmi TV X Series and Mi TV 4X range thanks to the rest of the screen's borders, which are noticeably thinner and a similar shade of silver. Although the Mi TV 5X isn't quite as thin as some of the high-end TVs I've recently evaluated, it is still relatively well-built and not overly thick, especially at the bottom, where it bulges slightly. When mounted on a wall or a stand, it looks nice for a TV in its price range. A second set of inputs and ports are located to the left of the screen, and the lower portion of the TV's back has a texture resembling carbon fibre. The two USB ports, three HDMI 2.1 ports, and 3.5mm audio out socket are on the left, while the Ethernet, optical audio out, composite AV input, and antenna port are on the right. These less-used connections all face downward. The television can be wall-mounted with any aftermarket VESA-compatible kit or put on a stand using the aluminium stands that come with the unit. At the time of installation, Xiaomi can offer a wall-mount kit for an additional fee.  AmazonBasics 55-Inch Fire TV Edition Ultra-HD HDR Smart LED TV Review While I am reviewing the 55-inch Mi TV 5X model, which costs Rs. 45,999, you can also choose the 50-inch and 43-inch models, which are respectively priced at Rs. 41,999 and Rs. 31,999 in India. All three of them are Ultra-HD TVs that can support HDR content up to Dolby Vision. Xiaomi Mi QLED TV 4K 55-inch Ultra-HD Android TV (L55M6)  A 55-inch Ultra-HD (3840x2160-pixel) LED-backlit screen, Dolby Vision and HDR10+ high dynamic range codecs are supported by the Mi TV 5X 55.   This television's two speakers can support Dolby Atmos and DTS-HD, and its 40W sound output is rated. One of the HDMI connections supports HDMI ARC, and connectivity options include dual-band Wi-Fi ac and Bluetooth 5. The TV is equipped with a quad-core processor, 2GB of RAM, and 16GB of app and app data storage. Remote and features of the Xiaomi Mi TV 5X 55 While Xiaomi's televisions have undergone general design and branding changes over the past few months and years, the company's approach to the remote has remained relatively consistent. The Mi TV 5X has Xiaomi's well-known, simplistic remote, but disappointingly—though this was to be expected—the necessary AAA batteries are not provided in the sales package.   Blaupunkt 43-inch Ultra-HD LED CyberSound Android TV (43CSA7070) I'm fairly accustomed to the remote in and of itself, and the company's software enhancements like Quick Mute and Quick Settings access have long since made up for its physical flaws. It's well-equipped to get you anywhere in the TV's software quickly, and you can simply navigate both Xiaomi's PatchWall UI and the Stock Android TV UI.   Other noteworthy features of the Mi TV 5X include hands-free Google Assistant access, an auto-low-latency mode for use with gaming consoles, built-in Google Chromecast with support for Ultra-HD and HDR casting from supported apps and services, and the option to set Alexa as your default voice assistant if you'd rather.   I'm fairly accustomed to the remote in and of itself, and the company's software enhancements like Quick Mute and Quick Settings access have long since made up for its physical flaws. It's well-equipped to get you anywhere in the TV's software quickly, and you can simply navigate both Xiaomi's PatchWall UI and the Stock Android TV UI.   Similar to a smart speaker like the Google Nest Audio, the television contains a microphone that can be programmed to constantly be listening for the wake phrases "OK Google" or "Hey Google." If you wish to avoid using voice commands or have privacy concerns, it's easy to turn off the microphone using a physical sliding switch.   The Best TVs You Can Buy   Software and UI for the 55-inch Xiaomi Mi TV 5X Anyone who has previously used a Xiaomi television will be familiar with the software experience on the Xiaomi Mi TV 5X, much like they are with the remote. The television uses Android TV 10 with Xiaomi's customised PatchWall 4 launcher in addition to the basic Android TV user interface. Users have full access to the Google Play Store for Android TV to download any of the more than 5,000 accessible apps, and all popular apps are supported.   Since there are no actual manufacturer-imposed restrictions in this case, users of other Android TV devices will be familiar with the stock Android TV UI. When material is playing in the interface, you can access the settings by long-pressing the Mi   The majority of titles in PatchWall 4 have IMDB ratings integrated into them. Additionally, the information pages for titles with more information now have a fresh layout. The TV's settings, various source inputs, and any additional apps that you might have installed on the TV are all easily accessible through PatchWall.     Wall Mount or on a Stand? What You Need to Know Before Setting Up Your New TV   Due to its content-centric approach, PatchWall will appeal to users that love a lot of suggestions and content curation. It's also important to note that the Mi TV 5X supports the Mi Home app via the PatchWall launcher. If you have the Mi Home app linked to your Google account, you can use voice commands to control IoT devices in your home through your TV. If you own and utilise gadgets like the Mi Robot Vacuum-Mop P and Mi LED Wi-Fi Smart Bulb, this might be practical for you.   Mi TV 5X 55 from Xiaomi performance Aside from its appealing appearance and appealing features, the Xiaomi Mi TV 5X 55 is also well-suited to give a pleasurable viewing experience thanks to its value-driven design. For a 55-inch television around Rs. 50,000, picture and sound quality are excellent. They give the impression of a big screen TV while also performing well across resolutions and content kinds. However, I did occasionally experience lag and UI performance difficulties, which I'll go into more detail about in this section. Mi TV 5X 55 from Xiaomi performance High dynamic range (HDR) television with support for the HDR10+ and Dolby Vision formats is the Mi TV 5X 55. Given its 55-inch size, this TV is obviously best suited for high-end programming, such the Dolby Vision films and TV shows available on Netflix and Disney+ Hotstar, which looked noticeably better than everything else I viewed.   Dolby Vision: What Is It, and How Does It Make Your Movies and TV Shows Better? The Mi TV 5X made it fun to view the popular Korean TV show Squid Game in Ultra-HD and Dolby Vision on Netflix. The colours were refined and striking but didn't exactly pop as much as on more expensive TVs, giving the image a soft, laid-back feel. The television discreetly but effectively emphasised the vivid pinks and greens of the guards' and contestants' clothing.   The image is clear and detailed without being overly abrupt and rough. Smoothness pervaded Ultra-HD footage, while Dolby Vision content appeared even better thanks to brightness and contrast. On the Mi TV 5X, visually appealing programmes like Our Planet looked impressive.   The largest advantage of Dolby Vision on the Mi TV 5X was in the tone, even though there was a noticeable increase in brightness and the opportunity to have different levels of contrast and impact in the same frame with HDR material. The lighthearted Somebody Feed Phil appeared bright and joyful as Phil Rosenthal explored towns and their distinctive eateries, but this television typically captured the tone and flavour of TV episodes well. It gave a dismal, dark feel to shows like Squid Game and films like Greyhound on Apple TV+.   When it comes to black levels, many LED-backlit TVs, especially those that cost less than Rs. 50,000, have a tendency to stutter. While not nearly as stunning as televisions like the OnePlus TV Q1 Pro (which includes local dimming), the Mi TV 5X manages to handle darker scenes and black tones pretty well. The screen did have a slight grey wash, but it wasn't as strong or annoying as on the Redmi TV X55, which costs approximately Rs. 5,000 less than the Mi TV 5X. As a result, dimly lit rooms produced decent-looking dark movies, but brilliant sequences were still watchable when sunlight directly hit the TV. While normal dynamic range and standard definition video are obviously less appealing to watch than HDR, they were nevertheless watchable on the Mi TV 5X 55. The TV handled the older, upscaled footage of the Bulls' legendary championship runs and Michael Schumacher's F1 dominance in the 1990s particularly well. Other full-HD content on Netflix, including The Good Place, Parks and Recreation, and Schumacher, was enjoyable to watch. Across resolutions and content, this TV provided a viewing experience that was consistently bright, clear, and clean.   In typical viewing conditions, the Mi TV 5X's sound is comfortable and decent; the TV can get pretty loud thanks to its 40W speakers. Without too many abrupt volume changes, the sound is well-balanced and homogeneous. Interestingly, the Mi TV 5X does not enable Dolby Atmos identification by content platforms; Netflix and Disney+ Hotstar all showed capability for 5.1-channel audio at best. Dolby Atmos is supported on the TV and was activated with a slider switch in the sound settings menu.   Instead, it appears that this TV upscales the sound stream at the hardware level when Dolby Atmos is enabled. With the majority of content, this still made a small difference in the sound quality. While watching Squid Game, some virtualized surround effects could be heard, and generally, the audio felt a little more polished and detailed. The sound was good enough even with this off or with content that doesn't really benefit from the format. Having said that, a quality speaker system like the Sony HT-S40R, which I reviewed alongside this TV, could enhance the audio quality.   Despite the Mi TV 5X's typically good picture and sound quality and overall positive software experience, I did occasionally run across performance issues. These included sporadic Wi-Fi connection dropouts, sluggish reactions to button presses from the remote, and intermittent image lag and stuttering when streaming Ultra-HD material.   Additionally, I occasionally noticed subtitle timing issues, where the words would show on screen a second or two late but still clear on schedule. This made it challenging to follow along when watching foreign-language programming. Even while these problems weren't too unpleasant and were frequently resolved by turning the TV on and off again, they did occasionally occur, so they are worth mentioning. Read the full article

Apple TV 4K (3rd Gen)
It's simple to see the Apple TV 4K as a streaming gadget, and for the most part, that is exactly what it is. It costs roughly Rs. 15,000, which is significantly more than the majority of streaming devices, and many people might not see the value in doing so when competing products (or even your television's operating system) can perform many of the same functions for a lot less. The Apple TV 4K is much more than that, making it a special item that belongs in its own specific niche. The recently released Apple TV 4K (3rd Gen) is in many ways stronger, more capable, and more equipped than its predecessor while intriguingly costing a little less than previously, starting at Rs. 14,900. Is Design and specifications for Apple TV 4K (3rd Gen) The Apple TV 4K (3rd Gen) is a little bit lighter and smaller than the one from the previous generation. It is still significantly bigger and heavier than the majority of the other products in this particular product category, though. It still has the table-top shape, but there are some minor visual modifications, like the removal of the Apple TV logo from the top and its replacement with a smaller, more straightforward Apple brand emblem. Notably, admission costs are now cheaper than previously, but the non-4K model is no longer available. Chromecast with Google TV  The Apple TV 4K (3rd Gen) is once again only offered in one colour: black, with a silver remote. The device currently comes in two different versions; the one that costs Rs. 14,900 has 64GB of internal storage and only Wi-Fi for Internet connectivity, while the one that costs Rs. 16,900 (and is the one that was supplied to me for review) has 128GB of storage and an RJ45 Ethernet socket for wired connectivity in addition to Wi-Fi. The Ethernet port, HDMI port, and power socket are all located at the rear of both models, which is also the only design distinction between them. You will need to buy an HDMI cable to connect to your TV and an Ethernet cable (if necessary) separately. The gadget comes with a power cord and a remote control, but nothing else. The Apple TV 4K (3rd Gen) is compatible with HDMI 2.1, Wi-Fi 6, and Bluetooth 5. Apple's A15 Bionic chip, which is notable for also being used in the iPhone 13 series, the entry-level iPhone 14 and iPhone 14 Plus models, among other devices, powers the gadget. Amazon Fire TV Cube (2nd Gen)  The Apple TV 4K (3rd Gen) can broadcast content in Dolby Vision, HDR10+, and HDR10 formats up to Ultra-HD (3840x2160) resolution. The system utilises Apple's tvOS operating system, which is based on iOS and supports Dolby Atmos audio as well. Features of the Apple TV 4K (3rd Gen) remote Thanks to its aluminium housing, combination of physical buttons, and touch-sensitive clickpad for navigation, the Apple TV 4K (3rd Gen) remote is extremely stunning. The Apple TV remote (3rd Gen) includes a built-in, non-removable battery that needs to be charged, unlike the majority of other streaming devices' remotes, which use disposable and replaceable batteries. It's interesting to note that the remote itself is basically unchanged from the previous version, with the exception of one significant change: it now features a USB Type-C port for charging. A charging cable, however, is not included in the box. The remote has a fantastic look and feel, but you'll need to handle it carefully because it's prone to dents and scratches. Xiaomi Smart TV X Series (X50) 50-inch Ultra-HD LED TV  The remote has buttons for volume control, playback, volume adjustment, and calling up Apple's Siri voice assistant. The 'TV' button on the remote can be programmed to launch the tvOS home screen or the Apple TV app, depending on your preferences. You can manage all of the connected devices with a single remote thanks to HDMI CEC. Numerous programmes and services designed for usage on a television screen are supported by Apple's tvOS software platform, which was at version 16.1.1 at the time of this study. Additionally, Apple Arcade, the company's top subscription-based gaming service, is accessible to you through tvOS. Performance of Apple TV 4K (3rd Gen). The tvOS platform from Apple is mainly effective; I saw speedy loading times and simple navigation. Throughout my use of the Apple TV 4K (3rd Gen), there was absolutely no lag to be seen. Anyone with experience with iOS will recognise the operating system, as the most of the changes were made to make it compatible with the large screen and remote navigation. Sony HT-A7000 Soundbar and SA-SW3 Wireless Subwoofer  Nevertheless, tvOS occasionally feels overly simplistic, and several app parts seem a little under-equipped when compared to Android TV or Amazon's Fire TV interface. This can have benefits, like the simple grid on the home screen and the content previews at the top, but there are also some drawbacks, like the fact that some apps only offer a small number of subtitle options, that occasionally certain streaming services have compatibility issues with HDR formats, and that the Netflix app on tvOS does not consistently support Dolby Atmos at the content level. Major streaming services, Apple Arcade games, and other important tvOS apps are often well-designed and perform as expected. Some popular applications, like Tinder, haven't received updates in a while, but they aren't really important and you probably wouldn't even want to use them on a television screen if you have a smartphone or tablet on hand. You can quickly and easily connect any AirPods or HomePod speakers you own to the Apple TV 4K, just like with other components of the Apple ecosystem. The gadget downloads high-quality, high-resolution scenic clips to use as backgrounds for the tvOS interface, which is another intriguing feature of dynamic wallpapers. All of these were extremely attractive to look at, but as feared, downloading them takes up a lot of data. The Best Media Streaming Devices for Your TV Access to Apple Arcade and other popular games that have been adapted for tvOS is a key selling point for the Apple TV device. Many of the games on the Apple TV 4K can be played with just the Apple TV remote, but many others require a suitable gaming controller. The Apple TV 4K (3rd Gen) is a very capable'micro-console' in a sense because many games performed better on a larger screen, and this is where the potent A15 processor comes in handy. At least in comparison to its features on other Apple platforms like iOS and CarPlay, Siri on the Apple TV 4K (3rd Gen) is quite lacklustre. With the exception of YouTube, Apple Music, and the Apple TV app, I was unable to play specific material from streaming services; however, I was at least able to use voice commands to open pre-installed apps and search the App Store. When it comes to the essential features of music and video streaming, Apple TV 4K (3rd Gen) is noticeably superior to devices operating on other platforms in terms of stream quality and stability, especially on slower Internet connections. On the Apple TV 4K via a mobile internet connection, there was barely any buffering, and the picture and acoustics were substantially better. Some streaming services, like Apple TV+ and Netflix, did appear a little bit better on this device than on the stock Android TV platform on the Xiaomi Smart TV X50, even with a much quicker and more reliable Wi-Fi connection.
