Help My Family in Gaza Survive Bombardment, Displacement, and Famine

I want to share with you what life is like for my family in Gaza today. Every day we live under heavy bombardment. Airstrikes destroy homes, hospitals, and entire neighborhoods. Families like mine are often given only minutes to run, leaving everything behind, uncertain if we will survive the next attack.

The fear of what comes next is constant, and the future feels unbearably uncertain.

We are displaced, carrying only a few belongings as we search for shelter, but the truth is, there is no safe place left in Gaza. My younger sibling cry in fear, my parents feel helpless, and the elderly and sick suffer without medicine. Watching my loved ones in pain is unbearable.

Now, famine has been officially declared in Gaza.

Food can still be found in some areas, but prices are impossibly high. My family, like many others, cannot afford even the basics, and buying bread or clean water has become a daily struggle. We are not starving because food does not exist - we are starving because it is out of reach.

I am asking for your help. With your support, I can provide my family with food, clean water, shelter, and urgent medical care. Your donation, no matter how small, can bring hope ease suffering, and even save lives.

Before the war, we lived a simple but happy life in Gaza. Our home in Shujaiya wasn’t big or luxurious, but it was filled with peace, love, and comfort. We had our own land — a small garden where we planted vegetables, a roof where we sat on warm evenings drinking tea, laughing as a family. Our kids went to school every day with joy, dreaming about their future. We had work. We had neighbors we trusted. We had routines, family dinners, birthdays, laughter. Life wasn’t perfect, but it was ours. It was full of meaning.

The bombing started, and we had to flee our home during the first week of the war. We left everything behind — not knowing it would be the last time we would see our home standing. We first went to Rimal, hoping to be safer. That’s where we heard the news: our home, the place we built with love and hard work, was destroyed. Flattened. Just like that — gone. Everything we owned, everything we saved for, was buried under rubble.

After that, we kept running. From Rimal to Al-Zawaida. Then to Rafah. We’ve been displaced four times. Each time we carry less with us, but more pain. We sleep on floors. Sometimes there’s no roof. Sometimes we stay in tents. The nights are cold, the days are burning hot. There is no electricity, no clean water, no toilets, no privacy. We wait hours just to get a piece of bread. We lost our jobs, our income. We lost our safety, our dignity. We live in fear every day — fear of the next bomb, the next loss.

We used to dream of the future. Now, we just dream of surviving the next day.

We are the Anas family — like many families in Gaza — ordinary people who only wanted peace, a safe home, and a chance to live in dignity. But the war has taken everything from us: our home, our land, our jobs, our dreams, our stability… even our sleep.

It’s hard to write this. It's hard to ask for help. But we are desperate.

I am Yousef from Gaza, father of Lana, Abdul Karim, and Adam. My house was destroyed and we live in tents under the scorching sun. My wife is eight months pregnant and her health is poor due to malnutrition. Please help me. How will I wait for my child who was born in poor condition? My heart is broken. I dreamed of a wonderful life to spend with them, a dignified life. A life not filled with death, fear, destruction, and deprivation. I wanted to fill his room with toys and his closet with clothes. I wanted to buy him children's books, but I couldn't. The war came and my hopes were shattered. My goal became providing him with a carton of milk and food. I can barely afford anything. Everything is expensive, and we no longer have the income to buy his needs. The eggs of Al-Karm are deprived of many of their basic needs. They are deprived of security and stability. No fruit, no meat, no flour. A kilo of flour costs 30 British pounds. Vegetables are very expensive. A kilo of tomatoes costs 20 pounds, a kilo of eggplants is 20 pounds, a head of garlic is 25 pounds, and a kilo of peppers is 25 pounds. Nothing fills my children's eyes except fear. As soon as they hear the sounds of explosions around them, they start crying. Today, a kilo of onions costs 70 pounds, a kilo of zucchini is 30 pounds, and a kilo of lemons is 50 pounds. Water is undrinkable, and we struggle to get it by waiting in queues, and most of the time, we cannot get it.

Every donation for my children will save us from the tragedy we live every day in Gaza.🙏🫂.
