Hiii!! First of all, thanks SO much for being interested in Water, Blood and Wine!!

The graphic novel is still in the making and but not much more beyond the first chapter is finished to a degree where I can show it. I'm a full time freelancer and currently supporting my household by myself, aka any project that doesn't pay the bills has been shelved :((

My goal is still to finish it one day and when that happens I will be screaming it off the rooftops.

That said I have been considering selling the first chapter as a PDF (I've been selling a physical sample at conventions) so honestly this ask is making me consider that option again.

How long was the process for making each piece for VM? Did some take longer than others?

Also I have so much respect for you doing pieces for nine characters especially Centaur Scanlan! The pieces came out wonderfully!

I am so sorry for taking 300 years to answer this omfg. But here we go:

I really should've measured how much time I spent on these paintings but I would not be surprised if it was ~10h on each one of them. Possibly longer?

Some of them were indeed easier - I was in a good flow with both Vax and Lieve'tel and Liam was so great with his instructions. It's something I've seen many times, some people just have very clear ideas and others need to see the sketch on paper and go from there! So there were several sketches, colour variants, then rendering.

It was a massive undertaking for sure and I had to put in several weeked hours but it was SO worth it.

This is what happens when I just go ham with all the imagery I like best: teeth and knives and lounging characters. Here's Vespertine being...inviting? Threatening? Is there a difference? Who knows.
