my theory:

Set in the future but not necessarily a distant future. Similar to arceus the protagonist is taken from present day to fix something, but instead of being sent to the past they're sent to the future to prevent some kind of ecological disaster, a mass extinction of some sort?

Maybe the "urban redevelopment" isn't a good thing?
