Mesopelic: A gender identity that's connected to the mesopelagic zone of the ocean in some way. It can be a literal connection, but it might also be more symbolic, such as being partly obscured or hidden away.

The mesopelagic zone is also called the "twilight zone" in more casual contexts, and makes up around 60% of the ocean. Only a tiny bit of light from the surface reaches it, hence the relation to twilight.

Communotaxial Attraction System

The communotaxial attraction system is an identity system that compartmentalizes attraction into labels based on how the people within a community categorize their attraction.

For example, someone who thinks about their attraction through the lens of romantic, sexual, and platonic attraction may be considered anthrotaxial because they use an attraction model meant for humans and popular with humans.

Communotaxial attraction is primarily based on the words used to describe attraction rather than the actual emotions and experiences involved*, but it is up to the person using the label if they find their experiences matter more than the words, especially if their attraction is too complex to be labelled or they do not wish to create a unique label for it.

*For example, while arospec and aspec identities may not be accepted by many people and may be used in a way unrelated to humanity or human norms, they are still anthrotaxial in the majority of contexts because they are defined through the lens of human norms.

Communotaxial attraction labels can also be used to describe forms of attraction present in different languages, cultures, religions, or even specific inside jokes or hypothetical philosophical views that have no use in any real "community."
