Liliana still held complicated feelings about everything that had happened. On one hand, a part of her wished that they hadn't gotten involved. That the group hadn't gotten hurt... that she could have kept going without knowing. On the other... it had reaffirmed how she felt towards everyone in the Straw Hats; especially Usopp, Ignis and Sanji. How they'd become her family, how they'd made her feel at home. Like she belonged somewhere. Knowing who her mother was, the role she had played in getting her to Syrup village... it did answer some of the questions she'd had since she was a child.

"It was a lot to find out. I suppose... I'm just coping with it all." She answered honestly; pouring some tea. Liliana looked up at Ignis and smiled. "I've already had a long and emotional conversation with Usopp and Sanji. It's helped clarify things, where I stand with them for one. I don't think it'll change too much."

She set a cup down for Ignis and one for herself, turning to grab some baked goods she had put away earlier. As she sat, she let out a sigh. "I think that I'm doing better now that you're awake. I was... really worried, we all were. All that matters is that you're okay."

A dry chuckle left past her lips at Liliana’s remark. “Lately, it doesn’t seem like we can catch a break during our voyages…” Ever since Alabasta and helping out Vivi, every new destination brought with it a chaotic little journey with it. Even their prior stop, Long Ring Long Land, was at best cumbersome and annoying due to the presence of the Foxy pirates and the Davy Back Fights. And now they had barely survived another dangerous encounter that had Lili at the center of everything.

“Chopper is the best doctor I’ve ever seen. We’re all in good hands with him on board,” a small smile appeared on the girl’s visage, glancing at her old friend. “Are you okay, though?? We’ve been through a lot, especially you. And I was out of it for a good chunk of it…”

It's a double headcanon day!

Something that might seem like a random thing that Katarina knows how to do, something that carried over from her life before waking up in Sorcier, is actually... Katarina knows how to knit. In her past life, it's something she picked up thanks to her mother, and it was a bonding activity that the two would do; often while her dad and older brothers were busy. It helped her and her mother get closer; and every now and then in her current life, Katarina finds herself knitting as a comfort thing. Sometimes she does it absent-mindedly, other times very consciously. Due to knitting more and more, Katarina's made scarves, hats, gloves, blankets and more for those around her. Keith probably has three different scarves and hats, the same with Anne. Really; the Claes household has no shortage of blankets thanks to Katarina.

Since waking up as Katarina, she's never forgotten the name she went by in her last life. She still remembers the names of her parents, her brothers- and especially her best friend, Atsu. Most of all, she still remembers the name she had gone by; Mashiko, and her family name, Amano. Mashiko is written with the kanji that specifically means "monkey"- which itself is a reference to her family affectionately calling her a monkey. She thinks about this name, and she hasn't told anyone in her current life about the name; except for Keith.

Really; if there's anyone in her life who might know anything about her living a past life, it'd be Keith. He's too smart not to think of how it could have happened. But at least if she told Keith... she wouldn't feel totally alone in this new world. Yes, she's surrounded by loved ones... but none of them really know her- except for Keith. She told him about the life, and the conversation ended up quite emotional- for Katarina. Keith thought she was kidding at first, but she spoke with the most clarity that he's ever seen, to the point where he had no choice but to believe her. Her memories were so clear, so vivid; and that included the memories of the game she woke up in. Despite never telling her about his past, she knew about all of it- thanks to the game. And after this conversation- a weight is very clearly off Katarina's shoulders. Keith agrees to help her, stay with her as long as he can. If there's any moment that made them sworn siblings, it's that moment.

He found her staring at the open seas again. The pirate supposed Byakuya was deep in thought about something again, or simply admiring the view. But his gut feeling sensed it was more of the former than the latter this time, even if he couldn’t explain why. An idea quickly came to mind, making him grin mischievously.

Ace approached her silently, tip-toeing and sneakily so she wouldn’t notice his presence (though, it’s hard to conceal himself sometimes). Then, catching Byakuya by surprise, both arms wrapped themselves around her waist in a tight hug, lifting her in the air and making her spin.

He was hoping to make her laugh.

Since setting sail with Ace and the others, Byakuya often found herself on the deck of the Moby Dick, staring off at the sea. It would typically be for multiple reasons; one of the usual involved her reflecting on how different her life had become in just the last few months. She supposed that she'd often be out there because watching the sea was relaxing. She'd gotten back into knitting because of it- joking about making Ace a sweater due to how often she'd be out there. But she'd actually been able to leave her home island; she learned to sail, learned more about fighting. She even learned more about Haki from Whitebeard himself. She's learnt so much about everything thanks to Thatch, Marco, Izou, Whitebeard- and especially Ace. They'd all already done so much for her, helped her adjust to everything; it was hard to imagine doing it all without them. Without Ace especially.

But speaking of Ace…

Byakuya felt arms wrapping around her, lifting her. She let out out squeal, arms flailing as she was spun around. She let out a laugh, hand lightly thumping against Ace's chest as he set her down. "You're lucky I wasn't holding anything; I could have hit you with it!"

They both knew that wasn't true- she knew knew it was Ace sneaking up on her- unless the was lost in thought, but even then; she could never bring herself to hurt him.

Byakuya reached up to lightly poke his cheek and smiled up at him. "You're unbelievable."

She loved him anyway though; that much was obvious.

Byakuya's got a... complicated relationship with her own birthday. She looks forward to the day, of course; but it's come with hit or miss moments. As a child, she was given gifts with no meaning; barely even given cake. Her foster father wasn't the best with gifts; he was too busy, and always felt too awkward to do something. So the most she got was from her personal maid. Her current maid, Chigaya, has only been with her for a few years, but the one she had as a child made her birthdays worth looking forward to. She was an older woman- and she virtually spoiled her compared to everyone else. She'd bake her sweets, small handmade gifts, give her other gifts that she still has now- she made her feel special. That's all she wanted.

(never mind the fact that the woman made her miss her own mother even more)

Chigaya, as her current maid, does what she can; but Byakuya feels like she's still getting to know her. So there's been some hiccups, some hit and miss moments; but she's at least trying to make her happy. She's making the effort for her. And that's what matters to her.

Byakuya's not picky, she never was; as long as the person giving her a gift put genuine love and care into said gift, she'll be happy.
