This might come as a surprise (given I haven't finished writing that Dedede fic)
I actually been meaning to write a metasusie and a metaroach fic. Got the story beats lined up and everything, just haven't been motivated to write orz
I'd be interested to see how it's receives, since Kirby fans have different interpretation on these characters, we'll just have to wait and see if the writers block takes its leave...
#talking nonsense#despite meta knight being the first mention in ship names#he really isnt the type to take the initiative (usually lol)

perhaps a hot take, but... ...I think King Dedede is more social than Meta Knight
Not to say Meta Knight doesn't know how to socialise, he absolutely does, though personally, I like to think he's really good at masking that
MK is someone who strives to achieve his goals and follow through his duties, but if given the chance to relax and socialise without any responsibilities hanging over his shoulders (whether self-imposed or otherwise) I doubt he'd find it easy for a long while
Meanwhile with King Dedede, he's the sort that'll socialises with people that interests him. Not to say he's good at it but he certainly has that confidence and ego. Dedede isn't exactly the most honest person out there, but wears his heart on his sleeve, that alone I think is why he's so easy going with socialising with just about anyone
Basically, MK socialises like it's a chess match, while Dedede socialises like he's playing UNO
#talking nonsense#King Dedede#Meta Knight#[insert how Kirby has shaped their lives in a way that they're able to relax and hang out more at ease than ever before]

that would be SO hectic and super fun! i can totally imagine a tilt and tumble sequel on the switch (especially with the motion controls) and having a bunch of cosmetics like dream buffet
we truly are due for a side game... it is a mighty need
I am still absolutely banking on HAL for making a kirby mobile game, however or whatever the genre and gameplay is gonna be like, all i want... is obscure kirby characters to appear at least once
I'm talking Nyupun, Pitch Mama, Claycia, Brobo, Gryll and etc...

There is a certain kirby doujinshi in my possession, where Meta Knight has a cold and Dark Meta Knight decides to play a prank by drugging him with sleeping pills and pretends to be Meta Knight for the day. Only to get annoyed and uncomfortable by how Meta Knight's friends and allies treats him.
It's such a funny and cute story, seeing the difference in dynamic the cast treats both knights. Best of all, DMK does get sick right after having worn MK's mask too (serves him right lol)

There's something so delightful thinking about what sort of dynamic Magolor and Daroach might have (and I don't even mean ship wise either)
Imagine being a professional thief, with a crew and ship, having attempted to steal from the likes of Kirby and co, but then proceeding to get possessed and part ways in friendly terms.
Then you hear about some guy, with no crew behind his name but a ship of his own, whom also successfully stole from Kirby and co and getting possessed... And got to build a theme park after his very image in Dreamland
#talking nonsense#Daroach#Magolor#Given magolor is implied to be a cat you'd think they wouldn't get along...#but imagine them being in relatively good terms but being an absolute nuisance to each other#wait... that's just Tom and Jerry

I am fully on the same boat of wishing Marx and (especially) DMK being given more depth, it’s quite a shame how uncommon the concept is in the en fandom.
I think one of the main reasons for this was how in Taranza’s and Susie’s respective games, they were given more depth and personal stories (allowing players to feel more empathic towards) While with Marx and DMK, they were brought up in the early stages of the Kirby series (before we had villains like Magolor)
It doesn’t help that neither of them had pause screen dialogue that suggest anything more than what fans already knew about them.
Tho I have seen a variety of dynamics and interpretations of Marx and DMK in jp and kr side of the fandom. Ideas like DMK being a cheeky bastard towards Meta knight specially, or Marx keeping a arms distance from Kirby and being confused on why someone he betrayed would try to befriend him.
There truly is a lot of potential for characters who are deemed a blank slate, while characters like Taranza and Susie, are characters whose stories have already been told and explored.
That, and I think fans generally wish there are more 'bad bitches' characters (even though it seems out of character for the series in general) So having a variety of characters on different moral scales can be really interesting (though the kirby series isn't especially known for that tbh)
Basically, it probably would require more interpretation and fanon to give DMK and Marx more depth, but sadly they haven't been considered in recent years (whether it be fanon or canon)
Just saying,
Susie and Taranza have done bad things, did'nt have redemption arc, but the Kirby fanbase wiew them as mostly good people because they had tragic backstory.
But when it come to Marx and DMK, while having similar profiles, everyone sees them as purely evil, as instead because they don't have any sad past.
Backstories explain why people act, it does'nt excuse how they act nor does it make them better persons.
Like, why not have them with a personality, with their own insecurities, and conflict, like the other character do ?
There's a lot of more interessing interpretation of those characters than just potraying them as shallow bitches, is all I'm saying. It's not very realistic, and it's boring. It does'nt even fit the theme of Kirby, wich is love, friendship and forgivenness.
Also, there's already an astounding amount of people doing it...
