“Oh- Yeah.  Yeah, sorry.”  She straightens up from the ground.  “I’m trying to figure out this bug here-”  She’s got her hands cupped, clearly she’s got a bug in her hands.  “It’s a carabus insulicola.  Never seen a live one before.”  She mumbles. 

She knows most people aren’t interested in bugs like she is.  In fact as far as she knows, Inasa is afraid of them, so she keeps her hands closed.  “They ain’t all that useful or nothin I just… Never seen one before, figured I’d see if i could get them in my swarm.”

“Oh... so it’s like a rare one?!” Inasa inquired, growing curious to the insect that the other might have found, the boy used to catch these things when he was younger, but Pro Heroes occupied most of his mind once he grew older. But that didn’t mean he wasn’t interested.

“CAN I SEE IT?!” Inasa promptly walked toward the girl, his hands raised as if asking her to hand the insect, it was rare to find someone who liked insects back in the day, so to find someone who were interested in it was really fun!

TENDERNESS

He shifts a little, watching Inasa when the other switched into a more concentrated expression. Eying the keyhole warily, he waited to see if this would work or if Inasa would accidentally blow a hole into the door of his car. He wasn’t insured for that. 

But he hears a click and the door opens and Tamaki perks up. It worked! And he didn’t have to call anyone– Or rather make Inasa call anyone to come get his car. 

“Thank-you— I can’t believe you could do that with your quirk.”

“I’ve been trying to make my quirk more versatile in different situations, you never know, right?” Inasa explained, honestly, there was a time which he wouldn’t be thinking like that, but after being humbled twice, the boy’s been trying to see things beyond simplicity. Sure, he still has his simple ideals of passion, but that doesn’t mean his way of doing things needs to be just blunt, the boy had to learn to adapt and be the best hero he can be.

“This is actually my first time trying to use it on something beyond a training dummy! Good thing I didn’t destroy your car, huh?”

“Ah–” He looked to his car, blinking. “Do you think that’ll work?” It sounded better than trying to get a tentacle into the car and moving it around till he got the car unlocked. “Let’s try that.” 

“Yeah! I’ve been practicing to make smaller, more precise Whirlwinds! Just gotta...” Inasa put his hand onto the keyhole of the car, his face changing from his trademark smile to a much more intense glare, as if taking all of his concentration to do this.

Suddenly a small gust of wind comes out of the young man’s palm, getting into the car’s door mechanism. This could prove a task rather difficult for people with little knowledge of cars, but not for Inasa, he was raised around these vehicles after all.

After a few minutes, a resounding ‘CLICK’ could be heard coming from the door, with that, Inasa grabbed the handle and opened the door, a huge smile across his face. “There we go! Good as new!”

He sighed a little. “It’s fine….We just have to figure out how to get in my car without breaking anything. I don’t want to have to pay for a new window if I can avoid it.”

“I know!” He suddenly lifted his head, an enthusiastic smile on his face as his intense gaze was fixated upon the more lethargic sidekick. “What if I use my quirk? I can try to blow wind into the lock system of the car to get it to open!”

“You…locked…the keys….in the car.” Tamaki repeated, looking at the tall teen then to his car, then back at Inasa, blinking slowly. His keys were locked in his car. There they were, sitting in the ignition, mocking him. Okay. That was okay. Mirio had his spare keys. But Mirio was out of town. 

“Why did you get out of the car in the first place? I said to wait here while I grabbed the food–” 

“I’M SORRY SENPAI!” Inasa exclaimed, putting his head to the ground, clearly ashamed at this whole thing. “Some old lady needed help with her groceries so I went out straight away to help her, I only realized I didn’t get the keys once I got back.”

“If I have to, yeah...” Inasa spoke, although his tone wasn’t the usual boisterous one, it was much more somber and serious. Inasa might idealize heroes, but he’s aware that some things are unavoidable. “I mean, I won’t kill anyone innocent, if it comes a time I kill someone, I know there must be a very good reason for it.”

“...” Inasa did his best to process what his senpai just said. The boy believed in simplicity in everything, from ideals, to thoughts to sentences. To hear something so oddly abstract was something rather puzzling to the boy, so the only thing he could do was to take it literally. “But why? Is that a new deer quirk I don’t know about? I’m confused senpai...”
