In late October, I got a job as a freelance writer at this ultra cool online fandom magazine called Sartorial Geek. It covers everything you could possibly geek out about from Marvel themed pastries to the best Star Wars cosplays. If you ever feel yourself missing out on…

Yesteryear: Halloween House 2019
Yesteryear: Halloween House 2019

It’s officially my favorite month of the year, October! Since many of us won’t be doing much for Halloween 2020, other than having spoopy movie marathons and visiting drive-thru haunts, I decided to make a post about my Halloween adventure from last year.
For last year’s spooky season, I went to Freeform’s Halloween House where they recreate famous settings and props from our generation’s…

Mulan 2020: A Modern Retelling of a 90's Favorite
Mulan 2020: A Modern Retelling of a 90’s Favorite

Photo Courtesy of The Movie Spoiler
*****SPOILER ALERT*****
When I first saw the trailer for the live-action Mulan remake, I was bouncing-out-of-my-seat excited. The fighting scenes looked badass and it seemed like Disney had managed to keep some of the storytelling elements from the original 1998 film. Fast forward to two weeks ago where I’m sitting in my boyfriend’s room, mentally…

Hamilton 2020: Partisan Infighting
10 Duel Commandments/Meet Me Inside/One Last Time

Whenever someone reaches a position of power and uses their platform to voice their ideas, it is guaranteed that that person will face a significant amount of opposition, even if its within the same organization. In the song, Ten Duel Commandments, Hamilton and his colleagues challenge American General Charles Lee to a duel in order to answer…

Hamilton 2020 Pt 1
Hamilton 2020 Pt 1
History was not my favorite subject when I was growing up. Learning about the California gold rush and listening to lectures on which president did what was not my idea of a stimulating conversation. History class basically consisted of rote memorization for tests and long winded viewings of historical documentaries based on the Boston Tea Party and Columbus coming to America. Personally, I would…

Galileo’s X-Men Truths Tuesday, July 14th, 2020 marked the 20th anniversary of my favorite marvel movie franchise: X-Men. Although, I've never actually seen the first movie, I consider myself a lifelong X-men fan, in all its forms.

Florid Trip Pt. 2: Magic Kingdom
Florid Trip Pt. 2: Magic Kingdom

The words Disney and magic have always meant the same thing to me. I spent my childhood watching the Disney renaissance movies on VHS, a collection I still have to this day. Each one of them has at least one commercial about Walt Disney World, the very capitol of Disney culture. In the 90’s, WDW was the ultimate vacation spot for families with children. Of course, I had Disneyland here in SoCal…

Galileo’s Guide to Crash Bandicoot: Under Water Levels
🐬🐬🐬
One of the very few semi normal levels
Setting: some deep-sea scape probably in the middle of the Mariana Trench. Everything there is trying to kill you, even the technology. Aesthetically pleasing to the eye, but then again you're always dying in this level so who gives a shit about how pretty it is.
Obstacles:
Sharks; less of the Jaws version and more like Bruce from Finding Nemo, but not as big.
Puffer Fish/ Blowfish 🐡 (really whatever the hell you wanna call it): cute little fish that look like you can stuff them and add them to your teddybear collection. Once you get close to them though, they inflate like a freaking cactus watermelon. They also have no sense of direction; you literally find them floating up and down like Dumbo.
Whirlpool Machine: goddamn undersea tornado makers. I can't tell you how many times I've been killed by these ridiculous contraptions.
Mines: apparently placing underwater mines in children's games was the thing to do back in the 90s. These things look like floating robotic jellyfish; they also have cords that stretch, allowing them to follow you for a while. At times they get so close that you can practically hear them whisper “Come hither”.
Electro Plates- huge metal plates that obstruct your way. They're also laced with electricity so if you come within an inch near them, you'll probably die, but hey it'll only be the 300th time you died in this level.
Bonus Level: None, god help us
Swimmy Levels: Deep Trouble; Under Pressure

Galileo’s Guide to Crash Bandicoot : Medieval Times
Crash Bandicoot Level Description:
MEDIEVAL TIMES 🎪🎪🎪
Setting: looks like something out of an ecstasy-fueled Renaissance faire. 🎭
Obstacles:
Toads 🐸- They kiss you and turn you into a not so charming Prince
Wizards 🔮- zap plasma balls at you that turn you into said toads
2-Headed Giants - one of the most wtf specimens in this game. Pretty self-explanatory. Once you beat them they fall on their back and you can jump on them like a trampoline.
Bonus Level: usually a castle towering over a garden of what looks like blue grass (it could very well be water but this game is too trippy for such normalcy)
Medieval Levels:
Toad Village: only the first level of the game and you already have to fight off a bunch of touchy-feely amphibians.
Gee Wiz: where Gandalf’s long lost cousin comes to bestow you with the gift of shape-shifting.
Double Header: the home of ugly giants.

New Year's in Florida Pt. 1: Universal Studios Orlando
New Year’s in Florida Pt. 1: Universal Studios Orlando

For New Years 2019, I was fortunate enough to go on an amazing adventure to Florida with my boyfriend. It was the first time I had traveled out of state without my family, let alone with a significant other. Needless to say, I was both elated and completely petrified. Stoked to be finally going on an adventure with the person I love but also nervous in regards to my travel anxiety. I tend to get…

Thoughts one has while watching the Little Mermaid
6 yr: I’ve seen the Little mermaid a bajillion times! An evil undersea witch takes away a princess’s voice but her true love comes and saves her and they get married and have a zillion mermaid babies.
21 yr : So, basically a sheltered mermaid princess with an overprotective father winds up making a deal with a cutthroat business woman. This naive child then goes and loses her voice and causes more drama for her entire kingdom than any of her sisters put together. Of course, she falls in love with an impossibly perfect prince who saves her and they live happily ever after...until he finds out that his children will be half fish.
. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .
6 yr: I wanna grow up to be a mermaid princess.
21 yr: I couldn’t give 2 shits about being a princess. Being a unicorn mermaid however is another story....
. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .
6 yr : I wanna have hair like Ariel.
21 yr: Ariel’s hair is more together than my love life.
. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .
6 yr: I like swimming because Ariel swims and I wanna swim like her.
21 yr: I only swim because its the only cardio that doesn’t make me feel like I’m dying.
. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .
6 yr: I wanna be like Ariel so I can be pretty all the time
21 yr : I've already accepted the fact that I will never be as pretty as Ariel. What I haven't accepted yet is that I will never be a mermaid.
. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .
6 yr: Next time I go to the beach, I'm gonna try to talk to animals and adopt a cute fishie like Flounder.
21 yr: I literally lose my shit every time I see seaweed float past me. I have no business trying to adopt some salty animal from the bowels of the earth.
6 yr: Ursula is scary and I don't wanna be like her.
21 yr: Ursula is a badass bawse woman who goes after what she wants. I'd totally watch her TEDtalk.
6 yr: I wanna marry a prince like Eric ‘cause he’s so handsome and strong.
21 yr: I’m pretty sure Eric moonlights as a drag queen when Ariel’s not around.
6 yr: Flotsam and Jetsam are meanies and gross
21 yr: Seriously need these two in my life so I can scare away the fake people.
6 yr: Trident is so mean when he destroyed Ariel's Toy room.
21 yr: I'm lucky if my parents let me live at home rent free. I have no reason to complain.

Things that help me through the scary times
Things that help me through the scary times
As a person who suffers from both severe anxiety and depression, I’ve definitely had more than my fair share of the scary times. What helps me through it is taking part in activities that I enjoy. Most of them don’t really serve a purpose and I only do them because they make me happy, help me pass the time and keep my mind busy.

Ororo Munroe’s Resume
Nicknames: Windrider, Weather-Witch, Blue
Storm’s Resume🌀
Name: Ororo Munro
Codename: Storm
Skills Set/Strengths:
As a descendant of a long line of…well, extraordinary women, you’ll find that I can be pretty convincing when it comes to manipulating the weather. Here’s a small list of nature-related skills that I have at my disposal:
Flight; flash freeze a person or object ⛄; the ability to control the air pressure in a person’s lungs; separate water molecules from oxygen molecules, allowing me to breathe underwater; I’m psychically connected to the Earth’s life force so I can detect dying organisms in nature such as bugs, a tree, or a nearby street cat; I can also detect certain bodies of water like that small yellowish one that your dog just made on your bed.
Needless to say, I can also bring about armageddon-like weather patterns such as tsunamis and tornadoes but I rarely do such acts unless I’m possessed by Apocalypse or the Phoenix Force. 🌊
Pickpocketing: I acquired the trade during my adolescent years where I worked as a street urchin and learned to steal valuables from both tourists and locals.
Lockpicking: I can pick 10 locks within 30 seconds. 🔐

Weaknesses:
Although I’m considered a divine goddess in my ancestral lands, my powers only last as long as I’m able to withstand them. They depend mostly on my strength and energy and if those supplies reach depletion, so will my powers.
Claustrophobia: I don’t like to talk about it.
Emotional/Mental/Psychological control: The severity and extent of my powers are based mainly on my ability to control my emotions. If I let my feelings overwhelm me, they tend to manifest in my powers getting out of hand. Every moment that I’m breathing I have to strive to keep my emotions in check so that I don’t hurt the ones I love.
Experience/Accomplishments:
-Although I’ve been encourage to refrain from mentioning my thieving years, I am in no way, shape or form ashamed of the things I did. It taught me how to survive and shaped me into the justice warrior that I am today.
-Led the team to a mission in which we had to fight a seemingly ever-growing infestation of bloodthirsty wendigos. Despite losing some brave souls to horrible atrocities that night, we were able to save an entire Canadian town from these monsters and that’s an accomplishment in and of itself.
-I’m responsible for instigating the war between mutants and inhumans. In retrospect, I do not regret fighting for mutant lives but I do share the sentiment that we should’ve communicated our concerns to the Inhuman Royal Family before attacking their capital.

Special Accommodations: For the sake of your health, I highly recommend that you don’t put me in a locked room. Bad things tend to happen whenever I’m in a locked room.
Perfect job for Storm: Actress; politician; activist. Apparently I’m tremendously convincing when it comes to getting my point across. ⚡⚡⚡
Describe yourself using 4 or 5 words:
Spirited, Headstrong, Independent, Raw, Terrifying. (SHIRT)
Side note: I'm also married to King T’challa of Wakanda, the most advanced country on the planet. You might’ve heard of him, he goes by a pretty memorable codename. Basically the human equivalent of Simba. Fights bad guys in his spare time. Wears a badass bodysuit with claws and a necklace. Kind of resembles a feline. No, you haven't heard of him? Oh, that's really a shame. In that case, I’ll just have one of the Dora Milaje shoot you a memo -Storm :) ⚡⚡⚡

Scott Summers’ Resume

Cyclops’ Resume
Name: Scott Summers
Codename: Cyclops
Nicknames: The First X-Man, Slim, Cyke
Skills Set/Strengths: -
-As a result of a childhood trauma, I can shoot ruby red blasts of concussive energy. Apparently this is because my eyes are literally portals to some dimension of hell or something like that.
-In dire situations, I can ricochet my blasts off of objects surrounding me. Because of this, Iceman likes to call my eyes disco balls.
-Excellent at following orders or barking them.
-I’m physically resistant to my own blasts. I can try to set my powers on myself but alas, nothing would happen.
-I've literally taken every kind of emotional and psychological abuse there is, courtesy of Sinister.
Weaknesses:
-I fall in love with almost every psychic redhead or blonde I meet.
- One could say that I have trust and confidence issues. There's entire books of me repeatedly self-loathing and doubting myself to no end.
-Poor social skills. It seemed like the only thing I was great at during the early years was destroying things and barking orders.
Experience:
I’ve lead various X-Men teams of all ages on countless adventures. Though, I probably shouldn't put that here because we usually end up being taken to some godforsaken place or nearly killed.
Special Accommodations:
Unless you want someone or something blasted away to kingdom come, I suggest you keep a pair of ruby quartz glasses/visors on hand… multiple pairs.
Perfect job for Cyclops:
I'm not too great at most things, maybe just a demolition or deconstruction site. Or even a garbage dump.
Describe yourself using 4 or 5 words:
