Well, Anon, I’d agree with you if we were talking about brothers who have a functional, healthy and perfectly fine relationship. But they don’t. Never did, actually. And it’s not like we thought about this whole thing out of nowhere, they’ve always gave us reasons to make us believe their relationship was something more than just a normal sibling relationship.

Noel starts ranting about Liam's reunion tweets at 12:28, with the entire CALL ME!!!!!! scheme (again), but my favourite part is, and I quote, "...then the ass falls out of [Liam's] trousers because then you've got to be in the same room as me, and we both know how that ends up".

Liam and Noel were very close during the Heathen Chemistry era. Do you think there was more between them at that point or did they somehow figure out how to maintain a strictly brotherly relationship by that time?

I think it's really hard to affirm those things because songs like Gone, Alright Now, Meadow, etc. were all written by Liam's co-writers. I'm not sure how the process is done (if they give Liam a lot of already-written songs and he picks the ones he likes the most or if the co-writers give a few song suggestions to Liam). Either way, yeah, the lyrics remind us (and probably William) of things he'd say to Noel. The same happens in songs like Wall Of Glass, Shockwave, etc. So, in these cases, unfortunately, we cannot tell for sure.

What do you think about Pretty Boy?

I think it's a Pretty Bad song hahahaha sorry. That's true, though. I also think it's about Sara and her BDSM stuff: "You tell me that you want it, yeah-yeah You tell me that you need it, yeah-yeah You know you can't have it, yeah-yeah So get your head down, pretty boy" Like, Sara needs/wants to go to the BDSM houses and there's nothing Noel can do about it, hence the last line. The rest of the lyrics is a disaster mess and I couldn't collect any other clues from it.

so you want oasis to reform without liam and noel being on good terms? if liam has to call and beg him it wouldn't be any good. it has to be in noel's heart that he wants to repair his relationship with liam rather than only reform oasis briefly to get a check to pay for his divorce and then abandon liam again. and if noel is being real about getting back together, i totally understand that liam wants noel to make the call. after all it was noel who left and binned oasis which really hurt liam! noel can't expect that he just has to snap with his finger and then liam will do whatever he wants, especially if his intentions are shady. i'm not even sure if noel was serious, maybe he was just joking, talking to get pr. he didn't even say he misses him or any other kind words, so no wonder if liam thinks he will just be rejected. liam on the other hand made clear over the years that he still loves noel and wouldn't reject him, so if noel really wants it, too, he should make the call himself. and defo in person and not via managers. you're brothers ffs!

It's ridiculous how some fans are so afraid of Noel's songs being about Liam. And it doesn't even have to refer to incest, just the fact that he writes emotional songs about Liam seems to scare them. There are people who refuse to think that Dead in the Water is about Liam. The mental gymnastics they do to convince themselves that something isn't about Liam is insane. I wonder if Noel likes to play with fire when it comes to his lyrics since he knows the mainstream will never say a thing?

I’m 100% sure of that, Noel is seen as a regular white rich straight man by 90% of the humankind, and he takes advantage on that. The same thing happens to John Lennon. Once I saw a man saying DITW was about Sara and I asked him, “What about the ‘gonna take you out when I get some money’? How would you explain that if Noel was already a multimillionaire when he met her?”

Have you watched the Noise and Confusion interview from 2001 where Liam and Noel are reacting to interview bits of themselves from 1994? It's on YouTube posted by "OasisDefinitely". Towards the end when the interviewer shows them the bit about their relationship (39:36), Noel looks sad and almost cries (40:16). I wonder what makes him so sad and emotional? Maybe him thinking about what their relationship was like at the time and missing it? Or him getting reminded of how incredibly young Liam was and he's feeling guilty about what he did to this young boy? What do you think?

Yeah, I’ve watched it a couple of years ago so I had to rewatch the bits you mentioned. The truth is I never really noticed how Noel got emotional.

I think that Noel has the “What I Did To This Poor Young Boy” guilt feeling, and you can see that in some of his lyrics (It’s A Crime, Untitled, Alone On The Rope, etc). But I believe in that very moment, he was just nostalgical. There’s a line from one song which I can’t recall the title that goes, “We will never be those kids again”. That’s basically it. Noel watched a footage of them (which he probably had never watched since they gave that particular interview) in a distant time, when they were young, free, in love to a certain extent, yet to live the best years of their lives. It won’t ever happen again.

Sad but true.

When he watched that, their relationship was (still) pretty good but they had wives, kids, Oasis’ peak was gone…

The best thing would be if both bros would let go of being stubborn and be willing to call the other, but seriously I can totally understand Liam's feelings and I'm surprised you blame him like this. It was Noel who left and abandoned him and if Noel is really genuine about getting back together, he should call Liam. Honestly, I don't even know if Noel was serious with the "Call us" considering he mentioned managers (just talk to your bro!) and maybe he was just taking the piss and he wants to promote his new album. So why should Liam call just to be rejected? If Noel means it, he should make the call or at least he should have some sincere kind words for Liam and not talk about managers

I totally get your point but in my opinion, Liam is the one interested here. He always sold himself as someone “prideless” and willing to do everything to get Oasis back. I just wanted him to act accordingly to his words. That’s why I’m not ok with his attitude, cause it seems to me it was just a way to make the fans pick his side while Noel was being brainwashed by Sara. And in my personal opinion, when you really want something, specially if it’s something that would not only benefit you but also a bunch of people, you just don’t get bitter about it when you have a chance to do it. To finish off, whether Noel was being honest or not is not what matters, because either way, Liam’s attitude would be pretty much the same.
