Pro’s and Con’s through out the process of my Prototype.
Through out the process of creating my prototype I had trouble picking what should I forces on Modelling? Game-play? Story? Art style? But when I was sitting there playing a little india game called Volume it came to me AI.
I’ve never down everything like AI which was great and worrying at the same time because on one hand its something new I know how to model asset such as weapons, building, characters but I’ve done nothing like coding/blueprints so there could be a lot of problems through out process of my prototype (which did happen)
Before I get into the AI blueprint side of thing I’m going to talk about importing both of my characters. Once I rigged my robot/human like character I followed a tutor online  showing my how to export and import said character into my prototype and replace the default character that unreal engine 4 gives you.
Problems when importing characters into Unreal Engine 4
However when my character was import into unreal engine 4 errors came up something wrong with the rig I created for my character, so after a couple of forms and video I watch online I choose to delete my rig that I created for my character and went to Mixamo (which auto rig any model)
After Mixamo finished with my character and I exported my character from Maya the same error came up and I didn’t have time to go though this again so I turned my force to AI because this is where I wanted to put most of my force due to the fact that I didn't now how to even character AI to begin with.
After looking through online videos, forms and Pluralsight seeing on how to start with the based understanding of creating AI in Unreal Engine 4 I started to work on my AI.
There’s not much to talk about when seeing if there was any problems when creating my AI due to the fact of coding it self, if there was a problem with the blueprint you would just sit there and go through the blueprint and see where unreal engine highlights error in red but I didn't get much problems with that because I read and watch a lot about AI before hand and through out my process of my prototype.
The only really problem I had was how I would show my AI working if I haven't even created a level but i came a cross that by creating a factor like level for my AI showing it working.
Conclusion
In conclusion I didn’t have much problem creating AI due to that fact that I followed a lot of video and break downs on how to create AI for beginners and beyond. I wish I managed to find out the problem with my characters that I create for my prototype and to create a based puzzles level showing off my AI in action.

3D Character Design
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Here are two character design that I created for my prototype. The first image is a space man, it was one for my first idea when coming up with a prototype and the second image is a stranded character I created for my puzzle game and rigged.

Here is a video showing some of the based design when creating a video game. All games have menu systems, so that’s why I create one for my prototype within Unreal Engine 4.

A new video showing off my different types of states for my AI character through my prototype with Attack, Patrol and Roaming the world. Having theses  different types of AI will work with with my Puzzles game.

This is the my first go at animation, its a very basic form of it with the AI character just going back and though from each node but it is the style of AI I was planing to do.
What to do next:
Slow down the animation
Create a line of sight for the AI to attack the player
Creating concept art of the level
Create base level using basic geometry with Unreal Engine 4
Create asset for the level with Maya or 3DS Max
Changing the camera angle to a top down view

The Narrative/Story
Tumblr media
The narrative that will be one of the driving forces through out my prototype/game will be that the player will take control of TeeBee a robot with one of the best Artificial intelligence every created. But after many years being stuck in a lab she wants to free, and just wants to feel the wide across her ‘body’, the birds sing, seeing day and night.
So the aim of the game is that the player will have to over come obstacle and puzzle's through out the each level.

What game/prototype am I planing to make?
Tumblr media
A Puzzles/ Stealth game like Volume would be the game-play style I will be going for when creating my game/prototype because of the use of the AI within the game. The enemy AI are on set paths also showing there site of view, showing the player how much room they get to use. Hopefully with unreal engine this shouldn't be too hard for a beginner when using unreal blue-prints.

So engine will I’ll be using through out this project?
Tumblr media
When looking at how to create my prototype forcing on two aspects (Modelling and Artificial intelligence) I took to unreal engine 4 because through out my course at University my lecture and I forces in this engine plus I’m more comfortable within this engine.
There are some great totals as well that have been created by the creates them self which will help me along my join through out the project
Here are the links to what tutorial and research I’ll be looking at:

The Out Come for this Project/Blog.
Tumblr media
Through out this blog I’ll be creating a game based on to key aspects AI and 3D Modelling. When searching on what are the core aspects on how to create a video game and what aspects I would like to put my forces on when creating my prototype.
Modelling was one of the most obvious parts when thinking on the style I would like to do as well as my skill when creating 3D models, but I also wanted to try something new so I don’t get bored something that I’ve looked at in the past and something that been used in many sci fi film’s, book’s, comic’s, TV and videos games.
Artificial intelligence e.g. AI, this is something I’ve always looked at and been intrigue partly because I love! Anything sci-fi related (West World) and that it play’s one of the biggest roles in gaming as a whole.
So through out this blog I will be updating it with all my research, test, prototypes and what engine will suit my needs.
