The console wars between the Super Nintendo from Nintendo, the Genesis from Sega, and many others like the 3DO and TurboGrafx. During this console wars in my opinion the companies that were doing the right things with their consoles was Nintendo. The ways that Nintendo did well in the console wars was that they didn’t continuously put out console with new hardware every year. Nintendo released good games that made people want to buy the console and stay loyal to the brand. Some games that had this element was Super Mario Brothers, Legend of Zelda, and Metroid. Another company that did will in the console war was Sega and their console Genesis. The Sega Genesis was successful in the console war because the Sega Genesis had games that had games that appealed to the teenagers and older with games like Mortal Kombat. The Sega Genesis was success because it also had games that appealed to children like Sonic the Hedgehog. The ways that Nintendo did wrong in the console wars was that later on they began to ship add-ons to their consoles that was more expensive than the game itself. The ways that Sega did wrong in the console wars was that they began to ship console one after another console. The cost for this was the failure of the consoles Sega Saturn and the Sega Dreamcast. The reason these consoles failed was that the developers that created games for the Sega Saturn were immediately thrown into starting making new games for the Sega Dreamcast. Sega also started to sell add-ons to play games that use CD-ROM. These add-ons cost a lot of money. These are my opinions on the subject on the console wars back when the war was between Nintendo’s consoles, Sega’s consoles, and other consoles that were made during tha...
