I wonder what kind of in universe conspiracy theories there are about the Psychonauts. The obv Psycho phobic ones like they secretly run the world, and or the deluge was an inside job.

but there has to be other ones, things they may or may not have covered up. lots of black ink in there archives im sure

I do like the idea of dumb conspiracies getting linked back to the Psychonauts, so this isn't said with any malice when I say that you should know "[X] secretly runs the world" type conspiracies have strong ties back to antisemitism, so I wouldn't run with that one if I were you!

Here's one that hopefully is less loaded to consider: Helmut Fullbear Is Dead (ie. no one believes the Psychonauts when they say Helmut's alive actually, conspiracies abound that they just hired a look alike replacement to smooth over the fact they had to announce a revised history about what Really Happened with Maligula)

I’m certain I’ve brought up this hc before but I think Bob lost his wedding ring at some point during his downward spiral and he feels very guilty about it. Helmut tells him literally don’t even worry abt it they’ll either find it or - considering how implausible it would be to find a ring in the forest- just make Otto forge a new one. Maybe even a pair of new rings. For their second wedding you see.
