I love seeing content where people truly understand Papyrus and don't just infantalise him.

Papyrus is funny, he's light-hearted, he's got his heart on his sleeve.

But he's not dumb.

Papyrus knows stuff.

He knows there's more going on than we realise.

And and there's even evidence to suggest that he knows about the existence of time lines.

Every character in Undertale is goofy in their own way and he's no exception.

But he's not just that.

In Glitchtale we get to see Papyrus who is all that and more.

He's mature, he's responsibile, he is the moral background of the group.

He's very powerful.

He knows when to fight, and he can hold his own.

But he also knows when to negotiate and talk a person down.

All things he does in the game.

The thing about Papyrus is that he's hope in a world that has none.

It's why so many people try to keep that innocence in him alive.

Why Undyne despite seeing his skills never let's him join the royal guard.

Because she doesn't want him to become like the rest of them.

It's why his death in the genocide route is the turning point.

Because Papyrus knows what you've done.

All that you've killed and still holds his hand out to you.

After everything he's still willing to forgive.

He still wants to be your friend.

Because he knows there's good in you.

His death is one you choose to commit, it's no longer something you can blame on survival.

He surrenders, he shows you mercy.

And he's one of the only characters to ever do so.

Papyrus is funny, he's goofy and sweet.

He makes shitty pasta, loves puzzles and has a racecar bed.

But he's also one of the most emotionally intelligent characters I've ever seen.

I can absolutely see him seeing what everyone else goes through and choosing to play the part of the fool.

Just to keep their spirits up.

Because that's the kind of person that he is.
