Rainbow’s Six Seige

Going along with all the other fps shooters, one of my favorite games I used to play was Tom Clancy’s Rainbow Six Siege. This game is a tactical first-person shooter game that can bring hours of fun and excitement. What is different about the game compared to other shooters like Call of Duty are the different ways you can get kills and win matches. There are different characters or operators you can choose from, either attackers or defenders, that have a variety of weapons, gadgets, and abilities that can help you. I’m not as good as most people, but 2 of my favorite operators to play as are Ash and Lesion. Ash who is an attacker, has some of the most powerful weapons dealing around 40 damage and her breaching rounds allow her to break through walls, floors, and ceilings from a distance. She is very useful for killing people unexpectedly and making different routes to go through using her breaching rounds. Lesion is one of the new operators you can unlock from the newest update. His weapons do a decent amount of damage but his gadgets allow him to place up to 9 Gu mines which contains poison darts that shoot out when enemies step over it. This causes damage over time and in order to take the needle off it takes a couple seconds which is enough time to catch them off guard kill them quickly.

Another way to help you get kills is to use your drones and cameras to find enemies and break through walls and floors where they might be. On defense, you can make kill holes overlooking at entrances and doorways they could come through which the other team might not expect. What can be annoying is when you're on defense and the attackers break through the ceiling and shoot through, killing you and your teammates. Teamwork is a key factor in coming out victorious. If you have operators that work well together and they have a plan to take out the other team, that can be extremely helpful. For example, some operators have access to flashbangs but others don’t though they have breaching charges. What you can do is throw the flashbang in the room and break through a wall creating another entrance clearing out enemies. These factors make it so really fun to play especially with friends. The longer you play the game and gain skills to become better kills become more rewarding as your opponents are also smarter. From great team plays to clutch 1 vs. 5 matches, this game has endless hours of fun. I highly recommend you to give this game a try. Just like any other game, it can be frustrating in the beginning, but just give it some time and you'll really like it.

Call of Duty: Black Ops 4

Recently the developers at Treyarch have finally revealed the trailer for the long and upcoming game that everyone’s been waiting for, Black Ops 4. This game is bringing along the best parts of Black Ops 2 and Black Ops 3 and combining them into one game along with new and improved features. Like any Call of Duty game, this will feature a multiplayer mode and zombies mode. Black Ops 4 multiplayer mode is a team-tactical multiplayer experience game like every other Call of Duty. It pushes the boundaries of what it means to be a Black Ops soldier. Set in the Black Ops universe between Black Ops 2 & Black Ops 3, with fast and fluid grounded combat, and player customization that elevates individual playstyles. Black Ops 4 revamps the Pick 10 system which offers a diverse Specialists roster and introduces new features like Gear, so players can create the best soldier for their playstyles. There’s also a new focus on rewarding team playmaking Black Ops 4 multiplayer a fun and intensely engaging and competitive experience to watch and play. Just like in Black Ops 3 Specialists return with abilities that fit different player types and can be applied strategically across game modes. Players can choose Specialists that create the ideal team composition like rushers for close quarters combat, long-range sharpshooters for coverage, and agile objective players to clear and contain. Additionally, Black Ops 4 delivers more character depth than ever before in the multiplayer universe, allowing the new and returning players the ability to learn and master each of the Specialists in solo missions. 

These missions feature a series of fast-paced trials that give an introduction to the new and returning Specialists while also sharing information about their identities and backgrounds, inside of a Black Ops narrative. The zombie's mode will follow the series’ tradition of a  four-player co-op combat against waves of zombies along with a weird story underneath it all. The zombie's mode will have three different maps: IX which is set in a gladiatorial arena, Voyage of Despair which plays out on a certain doomed Atlantic cruise ship, and Blood of the Dead (inspired by Mob of the Dead) which takes place in a prison. The new storyline focuses on “an ancient order hell-bent on transforming the world to fulfill their nefarious agenda,” stated by  Zombies director Jason Blundell. The four playable characters are named Scarlet, Bruno, Diego, and Shaw, and they’ll travel through time in an effort to secure an artifact so they can put a stop to the Illuminati organization and their hordes of zombies. A new feature is the custom mutation system, which offers about 100 different options allowing players to customize their Zombies experience, like the ability to adjust zombie speed and player damage. They are also bringing back the ability to choose difficulty settings. Overall Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 sounds very fun and exciting and is set for release Oct. 12 on PlayStation 4, Windows PC and Xbox One.

Call of Duty: WW2 DLC 2

About a month ago Sledgehammer games released DLC 2 for Call of Duty: WW2 to Ps4 and eventually a month later to Xbox and PC. This new DLC pack called “The War Machine” introduces 3 new multiplayer maps, a new war mode map, and the newest chapter to the Nazi Zombies series. These multiplayer maps take place in more iconic places during the battles of World War II. The first new map is based in the city of Dunkirk, France. Players fight each other on the beach and boardwalk where the arena is very large and open. Snipers can be very effective on this map, but the tight buildings allow for players to flank their enemies for some close-up combat. The second map takes place in Egypt near the ancient pyramids at Giza. This map is full of tunnels and passageways that players can use to get to many areas to the map including the interior of the temple. The map is suitable for all playstyles and is decorated with ancient calligraphy. The final map is called V2 which is a rocket development and test site located in rural Germany. This map is quite small calling in for some fast and close combat. There is a launch tower on this map which players can control and shoot down on enemies from below. Any explosives are also very useful to get quick kills. 

Operation Husky, the new multiplayer map is based on the actual invasion of Sicily. There the Allies objective is to push the Axis powers out of Sicily so they can once again open up the Mediterranean Sea so they can advance. The first task of the Allied soldiers is to collect 3 pieces of intel which are heavily guarded by Axis enemies along with several traps. The second task is to transmit all the intel by invading an Axis-controlled radio tower heavily guarded as well. If the Allies succeed in transmitting the intel they are quickly moved into the cockpit of jets were Allied players will defend bombers from Axis air forces. Finally, the last thing they have added is the newest chapter to Nazi Zombies called, The Shadowed Throne. This chapter brings the heroes into the heart of Nazi Germany to confront a desperate and murderous regime. Berlin is burning, and Doktor Straub’s monstrous army is determined on purging his city of the Allied invaders. These heroes work together to stop his monstrous zombies and step out from the shadows. This DLC pack is full of awesome things that we haven't seen before and hopefully, they will be releasing more exciting content.

Fortnite Battle Royale Season 4

Earlier this week Epic Games released the Season 4 Battle Pass to Fortnite Battle Royale bringing in a whole bunch of new exciting things into the game. After news about the comet gradually getting closer to the map, it has finally landed. The comet was suspected to land on Tilted Towers due to complaints it unexpectedly landed over Dusty Depot creating a huge crater and destroying much of the land surrounding it. Now what is left over is a new area called Dusty Divot. Within the crater players can fin glowing purple crystals called Hop Rocks which players who come across them can consume it gaining the ability to jump higher and take no fall damage for a limited amount of time. Dusty Divot is not the only addition to the map along with some other locations. One new area is Risky Reels which is a drive in theatre which was shown in the trailer for Season 4. Another cool spot is located near Snobby Shores which is a superhero or villain headquarters carved into the side of a mountain. There are also some smaller updates to the map like new houses, secret basements, movie sets, and more. 

Season 4 is superhero themed so some places in the map have logos for superheroes and most of the items in the battle pass are all superhero themed as well. In my opinion the items in this season’s battle pass are much better than last season’s battle pass. Some of my favorite skins in the battle pass are Teknique, Squad Leader, and Omega. What is unique about the skins, Carbide and Omega, is that players can unlock pieces which go into a full armor set for each skin. The emotes are pretty cool especially the Popcorn, Hype, and Orange Justice which is a tribute to one of the BoogieDown Challenge contestants. There are new trails in the game including the Retro Sci-Fi, Spray Paint, Lightning, Hearts, and Shooting Star trails. Also there is a new feature which allows players to spray paint funny pictures and cool designs on surfaces like walls or floors. This new season has just started and it is already full of new and exciting additions to the game. Most likely the map won’t be this way forever with all the craters so I can’t wait to see what the people at Epic Games decide to add in and change.

Fortnite Battle Royale: Many Updates

Since I last did an update blog on Fortnite Battle Royale a lot of changes and updates have been made. First off the developers at Epic Games have been working on some changes to some game mechanics. One issue when building before was when obstacles like trees or rocks would block players from being able to build. Now they have changes it so players are now able to build through large objects without frustration. They have also added in a system to auto stitch materials making building fast and simple. The weapons in the game have also gotten some changes. Weapons drop rates have been tinkered with and the rarities of weapons have been changed like the tactical shotgun. Many weapons now have “First Shot Accuracy” so as long as the player is standing still and their weapon has not been fired yet, the first shot will always hit. To even this out they have added in a damage-fall off to all weapons with “First Shot Accuracy”. Many items and weapons have been added into the game as well. First they have added in a new sniper called the Hunting Rifle which is a bolt-action sniper that does not have a scope unlike the other snipers in the game. Second there is new gun called the Heavy Shotgun which is a ranged shotgun and one of the more rarer weapons  The last weapon that they have added in is the Light Machine Gun (LMG) which is a rapid firing fully automatic rifle dealing heavy amounts of damage. One recently added weapon the  “Guided Missile” which is a remote controlled rocket, has been vaulted due to some complaints for being unfair. 

There are more throwables that have been added into the game as well. First they have added in “Remote Explosives” (C4) which is a remote controlled explosive that a player can trigger at any time. Second they added in the Port-A-Fort which is a throwable that builds an instant fort when is comes in contact with the ground. Lastly they added in the Clinger grenade which basically a sticky grenade that players can throw at long distances. With more weapons being added into the game there is a new way for players to get weapons through vending machines. Players can use materials to buy weapons from vending machines and there are different rarities of machines that can be found. Another new thing that that has been added into the game is the Supply Llama. These Supply Llamas are extremely rare to find giving players 500 of each material, 10 stacks of every ammo, and 3 traps and consumables. With these new changes the game is just getting better and better especially with the upcoming season Fortnite Battle Royale will be buzzing with updates.

Team Fortress 2

Back when I was in middle school I used to always play this game called, Team Fortress 2, for hours every day. Team Fortress 2 (TF2) is a multiplayer first-person video game developed by Valve Corporation. The game was originally released as a part of the as a part of the Orange Box in 2007 until it was released until it was finally released on Steam in 2010. There are 2 different modes players can choose to play: Online Multiplayer or Mann vs. Machine Co-op mode. In multiplayer mode players can play a variety of game modes including capture the flag, king of the hill, and payload. Once players join a match they are put into a screen where they can pick which they they want to be on, Red or Blue. Then they are able to choose one of the nine classes in the game: Scout, Soldier, Pyro, Demoman, Heavy Weapons Guy, Engineer, Medic, Sniper, and Spy. These classes are split into 3 categories: offense, defense, and support. Each of these classes had a variety of weapons and loadouts to choose from for any playstyle. Some of my favorite classes were soldier and scout. Soldier is armed with a rocket launcher, shotgun, and a shovel. What was unique about this class was that you could do a move called the “rocket jump” where you would use the rocket launcher to propel yourself high into the air resulting in fast plays. The scout was also a very fast class armed with a scattergun, pistol, and a baseball bat. The scout is very quick and can double-jump getting to places faster that any other class. 

Now in the Mann vs. Machine Co-op mode where six players team up to stop robots from delivering a bomb to the drop-point. Players can also choose from one of the nine classes in-game like in the online multiplayer. AI-controlled robots attack the players in waves. Many of the robots deployed are the robot form of the nine classes in the game. However there are also a number of special robots with different weapons or abilities. Each robot destroyed drops in-game currency which they can collect. Throughout the game players use these credits to purchase upgrades for their weapons and various abilities including resistance, movement speed, and regeneration. Onec the mission is completed players are given a final evaluation and will go on to the next map. This game was always very fun when I first played it. Ever since then they have released many new updates which I cannot account for. Though it would be fun to go back to it one day.

Far Cry 5

A game that has just recently been released this year and I have desperately wanted is Far Cry 5. Far Cry 5 developed by Ubisoft is mainly a action-adventure first-person shooter along with separate different game modes. The setting for this game takes place in the fictional region of Hope County, Montana. There the region is home to a doomsday cult known as, The Project at Eden’s Gate. The cult is led by a charismatic preacher known as Joseph Seed whose motive is to save humanity. Apparently Seed believed that he was chosen by God to save the people of Hope County from an inevitable collapse. To gather as many followers as possible he uses fear tactics including his military power and arsenal of weapons to force people to join in. Along with that to ensure his power he has divided some of his power to his 3 other siblings, also known as the “Herolds”, and they will do anything to eliminate any type of resistance. Though the people of Hope Country want it back. The player takes on role the of an unnamed deputy who is the main antagonist to help them take back Hope Country. 

The gameplay mechanics and features has also been greatly improved to make the game even better. Similar to previous games in the Far Cry series the game is an open world environment allowing players to freely explore the area. They have added in more weapons to increase the gameplay including more explosive and melee weapons. Players are able to create relationships with in-game people or tame wild animals to help with combat or any other task.This game also introduces brand new features that have not been seen before. In previous Far Cry games players were required to play a set character, now in the beginning players are able to customize their appearance of their character giving them more personalization options in the game. They have also introduced a new ballistics system to the weapons like bullet dropping to add to the realism. Players are also able to to play the campaign with friends making the experience more exciting. Overall this game looks very fun and action-packed and I can’t wait to give it a try for myself.

League of Legends

One particular game that has caught my attention is, League of Legends. My first impression of this game was that I thought it was pretty stupid, I never really understood what was going on or why people would freak out at certain points during competitive games. But after watching a few youtube videos on some gameplay I sort of have an understanding of the game. League of Legends (or LoL) is an online multiplayer battle arena video game developed and published by Riot Games. In League of Legends players can choose different characters or “champions” with different and unique abilities to work together and fight the other team. The game features over 140 champions that players can choose from each of which have different skills fit to match anyone’s gameplay style. Champions are separated into different classes which are controllers, fighters, mages, marksman, assassins, or supports. Each class is good at doing a particular task, for example markman are good at attacking at a range while controllers are good at defending players or areas. Now the main objective of this game is to attack the opposing team's base destroying their “nexus” all while also trying to defend you own base and whoever destroys the other wins the game. 

The most popular map, Summoner’s Rift, is separated into different areas: Top Lane, Mid Lane, and Bottom Lane, Top Jungle, and Bottom Jungle. Along with that each base is on the opposite side of one another and the map is split in half by a river. To aid each team each lane of the map contains a few defensive structures which either summon minions are shoot at the enemy. These minions aid players to destroy buildings and advance into the enemy base quickly. Throughout the game players acquire in-game currency or gold which they can use to purchase items or equipment that can increase different attributes in defense, attack, or magic. To get gold players can kill minions or defeat monsters within the map to earn an even bigger reward. Though fighting these monsters can be very difficult and time consuming, but defeating them can give your team buffs or more gold. This game seriously has a lot to offer. There is so much other things about this game to learn about but it would take forever to learn everything about it. Hopefully one day I can give it a try and see how it works for myself.

Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim

One game I really want to give a try is Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim. I always see some of my friends playing it and it sounds like fun, but I always got distracted by my other games. Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim, developed by Bethesda Game Studios, is the fifth sequel to the Elder Scrolls Series followed by The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion. This game is an action role-playing game where players can free roam across the fictional world of Skyrim. The players play the role of the protagonist who is a Dragonborn, a mortal with the soul and power of a dragon. Along with that the main antagonist is Alduin who is a dragon and is prophesied to destroy all life and consume the world. Players travel the world completing side quests which lead up to the main objective quest which it to finally defeat Alduin once and for all. There is also a civil war going on between two factions in Skyrim, the Stormcloaks and the Imperial Legion, which the player also tries to resolve.

Gameplay wise this game has a lot to offer. When players first start off they are able to create their own character including different races like humans, orcs, elves, and cat or lizard-like creatures, and then further customizing their appearance. Skyrim is an open world environment where players can explore the wilderness, dungeons, cities, towns, fortresses, and villages. Exploring may also be done more efficiently by acquiring horses or by using the fast-travel system which allows players to teleport to previous explored areas. Over the course of the game players can improve their character’s skills. There are eighteen different skills divided between the branches of combat, magic, and stealth. Leveling up allows the player to unlock a skill-specific ability called perks. What is cool about this game is that players don’t have to do the main quest right away, instead they can so side quests to improve their skills and collect better items to benefit them in the main quest. NPCs are very important towards completing quests. Like past Elder Scrolls games, you can interact with NPCs to do tasks or if they kill NPCs it will make some quests of items unable to unlock. The world is full of hostile creatures like bears, wolves, trolls, and even wild dragons. Many of these creatures are very strong so acquiring powerful weapons is necessary. Combat wise, players can use weapons and magic spells along with armor which players can either buy, find, or forge to use against enemies. This is basically all I know this game has to offer. Hopefully I can try it out but until this it sounds like fun.

Call of Duty: WW2 “The Resistance”

About a month ago DLC 1 for Call of Duty: WW2 was finally released. This new dlc pack called “The Resistance” introduces 3 new multiplayer maps, a brand new war mode, and the next chapter to Nazi Zombies. Each of the multiplayer maps are inspired from iconic places during WW2. The first map “Anthropoid” located in Prague, Czechoslovakia is based of Operation Anthropoid which was a famous assassination attempt of Schutzstaffel-Obergruppenführer, a high- ranking German officer during WW2. This map provides a whole bunch of height variation and flank routes resulting in a wide variety of gameplay. The second map “Occupation” set in Paris is a remake of MW3 map “Resistance”. In this map there are streets for mid-range combat as well as opportunities for more close-range gunfights in stores and homes. The last multiplayer map “Valkyrie” located in Masurian Woods, East Prussia is based off Wolf’s Lair which was Hitler’s headquarters during Operation Barbarossa, the Nazi invasion of the Soviet Union. This map is great for various playstyles, outside parts for snipers and close combat in bunkers. The new war mode “Operation Intercept”. The developers have added new mechanics into the game that have not been seen before. The first objective is to rescue Resistance fighters captured by the Germans. After that the next objective is to destroy the German radio equipment to stop their communication. The last objective is to lead a tank into the train station to stop a train carrying German ammunition and supplies before it leaves. Finally they have also added in the next chapter of Nazi Zombies, “The Darkest Shore”. This map is located in a fantasy island just north of Germany. The characters acquire intel that suggests that the evil scientist Doctor Straub is there on the island, but what is interesting about this island is that it often turns foggy and misty blinding you from seeing anything until it is too late giving the map a very creepy feeling. There is a new weapon called the “Ripsaw” which is a combination of a buzzsaw and a gun that is good at killing zombies up close and at long distances. They have also added in a new zombie and probably one of the scariest zombies they have come up with. This zombie isn’t like your regular brainless zombies but it is clever and strategic which will surely terrify you. Overall I feel this new DLC pack has a lot of content to offer compared to the past Call of Duty games. Hopefully the next 3 packs will also be as awesome.

Dying Light

Recently my friend introduced me to a game called “Dying Light”. At first I had speculations about the game but when I bought it and started playing it I surprisingly ended up enjoying it. Dying Light, developed by Techland, is a open world survival horror action-adventure video game. The story is set in the fictional city of Harran where a mysterious outbreak has turned most of the population into zombies. The main protagonist in this game is Roger Crane who is an undercover operative sent to reclaim a stolen file from Kadir “Rais” Suleiman who could ruin the reputation of his agency. Though when he arrives he starts to hesitate on his mission to try to save the remaining survivors. Throughout the game players can explore the the enormous map scavenging the world fro supplies and weapons to defend themselves from the zombie population. There are over 100 of different weapons to acquire and over 1000 more different upgrades to increase a weapon’s stats. Players can craft weapons and supplies to aid them through their adventure. Parkour and traversing the map is another big aspect of the game allowing players to climb ledges, jump off ledges, slide, jumping from roofs to roofs, and zip lining which is very helpful to escape hordes of zombies. One unique aspect of the game is the day and night cycle. During the day players can traverse the map gathering supplies, save survivors, or pick up airdrops as zombies are much slower. Though during the night time zombies become more aggressive and hostile, it also awakens the “Nightmares” as they are more stronger and faster than regular zombies. Players can also unlock skill points to increase their attributes such as survivor, ability, power, and legend. My favorite part about this game is the online multiplayer co-op mode which allows up to 4 players to play the story mode. Playing with friends is always as you guys can complete missions faster while still having a fun time. There are also another game mode called “Be the Zombie” that allow 1 person to play as the zombie and hunt down the survivors. The goal of the survivors is to destroy infected nests to defeat the zombie. Basically there are a handful of things to do in this game. I really like the story, game mechanics, and the fact that you can play the game with friends. In the long run this game is great and I would recommend checking it out if you are interested.

Terraria

A fun game I used to play a lot and still do when I get bored is Terraria. Terraria ,developed by Re-Logic, is a 2D action/adventure game sandbox video game and was released on May 2011. Since then they have drastically improved the game to what it is today. Gameplay wise the game is all about exploring, building, and combat and is similar to some games for instance Minecraft. When you first start off you are given basic tools like an axe, pickaxe, and a sword to help gather resources and fight monsters. Within the world there are different biomes where you can encounter certain monsters, items, and resources. There are various different accessories and weapons you can find in caves or by killing monsters or bosses that can boost various attributes and help attack monsters. You can also craft items like armor, weapons, accessories, buildings, and more. NPCs (non-player character) like the merchant, demolitionist, arms, dealer, witch doctor can be found by completing achievements throughout the game. Some of these NPCs have items you can only get through purchasing it from them which costs coins that monsters can drop. One of the most important things about this game are the boss monsters. These bosses can be summoned through certain items, destroying specific blocks, or through different events. Some bosses like Skeletron are required to be defeated to progress in game. One particular boss, the Wall of Flesh, is defeated the game enter “hard mode”. This mode introduces harder and stronger enemies and bosses into the world. It also adds more powerful weapons, accessories, NPCs, biomes, and ores. Since I started playing this game it has always been very fun. I love the graphics and how it it 2D rather than 3D making it interesting and it is fun to play with friends. In my opinion the funnest things to do is building crazy buildings, fighting strong bosses, and obtaining cool and rare items in the game. If you have not played it yet it wouldn’t hurt giving it a try, it is a really fun game.

Rocket League: 2018 Updates

Fortnite hasn’t been the only game that has been getting new content, but also Rocket League. The beginning of the year started off with the end of season 6 and the start of season 7. This season Psyonix decided to make the season rewards wheels again. Players will receive bronze, silver, gold, platinum, diamond, champion, or grand champion wheels depending on their rank.  In my opinion the new season rewards aren’t the best besides the champ and grand champ wheels because they already added in wheels before and they don’t really look that good. They also added in a new crate called the “Victory Crate”. Compared to the recent crates they have added in this is by far the best one. Everything from the wheels, boost trails, and decals are amazing. Some of the values of the Victory crate items skyrocketed in the rocket league trading community decreasing other items. The best items by far in the crate is the new car the Werewolf, the Toon Sketch boost, the Tsunami Beam boost, the Infinium wheels, and the all new mystery decals, Chameleon, Storm Watch, and Trigon. This coming March they are going to a new DLC called the “DC Super Heroes DLC Pack” into the game. This pack includes a whole bunch of decals with well known superheroes like Superman, Wonder Woman, the Flash, and more. What I am most excited for is that they are going to be adding 2 different batmobiles the classic ‘89 Batmobile and the Dark Knight Rises Tumbler from the Dark Knight Trilogy. I also heard that these cars are going to have hitboxes relatively similar to the Octane and Dominus. Another exciting event happening is that they’ve added in the tournaments beta on Steam. There are still some issues with the system though it’s nice how Psyonix is letting players test the system before it goes out officially. Hopefully it all works out and we can play it more frequently but only time can tell. Just the beginning of this year has been amazing so far for Psyonix and Rocket League as a whole so hopefully this can continue throughout the reast of the year.

Fortnite Battle Royale 2018

SInce the beginning of 2018 Fortnite Battle Royale has seen new changes and updates. Today I am going to be talking about these changes and my opinion on how they have affected Fortnite Battle Royale in the long run. First off the entire map has received a variety of different changes. The new city “Tilted Towers” and underground mines “Shifty Shafts” weren’t the only things they added to the map but they also added the richest neighborhood “Snobby Shores”, the haunted cemetery “Haunted Hills”, the trashed junkyard “Junk Junction”, and smaller locations like factories, houses, and motels. The addition of these new locations had added a variety of areas to go loot and this allows people to be evenly spread out through the map. Secondly they have also added a whole bunch of different items and weapons. The most recently added weapon the crossbow has been getting a lot of attention. This weapon was added in as a part of the valentines update along with a bunch of other items. In my opinion this weapon is very hard to aim with because the arrow it shoots has an ark which is hard to aim at far targets though it can do a decent amount of damage to enemies. I tend to stay away from using the crossbow but other people seem to be able to use it in very effective ways. Another weapon they have added in is the minigun. Weird enough the minigun takes light bullets doing little damage, but it fires bullets rapidly. I find it that people using this weapon can be very annoying especially when you are trying to build because they can destroy anything that you’ve places down within seconds. They have also added in a new lethal called the “Impulse Grenade”. This item knocks enemies and allies when it explodes dealing no damage. This item is rather fun to use against people near high edges so you can knock them off dealing fall damage or killing them. Finally the last item that they have added into the game is the “Chug Jug” which is a healing item. This item restores all of your health and shield but it takes a while for it to activate rather than using regular healing items. In my opinion the new changes have added more options to the game rather than doing the same thing over and over again which is a good thing because it gets really fun but can also get very fustrating.

PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds (PUBG)

Recently Xbox has announced the release of PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds to most of its consoles (PUBG). Looking at this game has made me really excited to eventually give it a try. The game was first released to MIcrosoft Windows through Steam’s early access beta program on March of 2017. PUBG, similar to Fortnite Battle Royale, is a multiplayer online battle royale game developed and published by PUBG Corporation. The game is a player versus player action game where a total of 100 people battle it out where last man standing wins. As well as a solo mode players can also choose to fight in teams alongside friends. You start of in a plane overlooking a large map with many locations to gather loot like vehicles, armor, and weapons. 

There are many weapons from melee weapons, bows, shotguns, submachine guns, snipers, and assault rifles. Most weapons also have room for different attachments and add ons. There are items all across the map though some riskier areas contain better loot, sort of like high risk, high reward. Unlike Fortnite Bally Royale where you can build to your advantage, you have to really think of how you approach enemy players to your advantage. Plus having a vehicle you can drive can help you not only travel across the map but possibly take out other people too. Over several minutes the map gradually decreases forcing players to move inward towards one another. If players are out of the playable area they will take damage over time until they have reached the safe zone. Throughout the match random areas of the map will be highlighted in red and bombed, posing a threat to players that remain in that area. Players are warned a few minutes before these events, giving them time to relocate to safety. Most matches average to be around 30 minutes at most. Overall gameplay wise this game is great. The looks and design of the game is also realistic to the real world. Everything from the landscape to the buildings are designed and taken from the real world. This game is still very new and has room for more updates to come. So far I think this game has great potential to be a really great game so hopefully it grows for the better.

Call of Duty WW2: My Experience

Last month my parents were able to get me Call of Duty World War II during Thanksgiving Break. Much like other Call of Duty games the starting to get weapons and level up is rough. Since the game has been out you often see people use the same type of weapons and class setups. Some of which can be very annoying to play against when you are starting off with the weaker beginning guns and items. In many team deathmatch games I would barely finish with a positive kill/death (K/D) ratio. In other Call of Duty games I usually like to run around the map with a submachine gun and kill people up close. When I was playing with the submachine guns like the Grease Gun I often would lose gunfights against people using assault rifles even though I would shoot them first. In my mind I thought that SMGs would win most of the time against an assault rifle up close, though I noticed that in WW2 more people are using assault rifles like the Bar, STG44, and the M1941. When I started using the assault rifles I immediately saw the difference as I would shred through people rather than using a submachine gun. 

The only way I found out would make SMGs more effective is by using the rapid fire attachment which is the last attachment unlockable with SMGs. Since I have a more aggressive playstyle the maps make a huge impact on the way I finish the game. I like maps that have a lot of back alleys and various passages to flank the other team, I don’t really like big maps that are open and where people camp in one spot with a sniper. In my opinion some of these maps are really really annoying to play on because on some maps there are spots where people like to camp using a long range assault rifle or a sniper. One thing that I was really surprised about was the sniping in WW2. In other Call of Duties I was never decent at sniping and quickscoping in online matches. Though in this game sniping feels easier and smoother especially with the deep breath feature. So far this game is pretty fun to play but can be very frustrating. Hopefully these upcoming DLCs will bring more weapons and maps to make the game as much fun as is it today.

Fortnite Battle Royale: Updates

The Fortnite Team at Epic Games has been working hard to release new updates and improving overall gameplay. Currently team killing has been an issue since the beginning of the game. So they are working on improving the system by catching current and past team killers, issuing warnings and bans, and the ability to get paired with players who have good reputations. They’ve also been testing a new shooting system to replace the random bullet spread while aiming down sights. The results look promising but the system still needs more work and tuning. 

The inventory layout is also getting a new look to make it cleaner and make inventory management easier. Dropping items, splitting and dropping half of any loot, and rearranging your hotbar will be a whole lot easier. More stats will be added including post-match stats. After you get eliminated your stats will be shown show how good you did or how you can improve your game. Some things that you’ll first see is what place you got, your eliminations and assists, revives. There will also be additional stats like your distance traveled, materials gathered, hits and critical hits, and more. What I’m most excited for is the new updates to the map. Currently the left side of the map is somewhat empty in comparison to the right side. They’re going to be adding cities and possibly other points of interest into the map. They’re also going to update the landscape like the mountainous and swamp regions too. Of course more cosmetics will be added and they’ll be updates to the current models for the gliders, pickaxes, and characters. Some minor thing that will be fixed are the audio for footsteps, vertical audio, traps, launchpad audio, and weapon audio panning. In the future they said they’ll be adding more items and weapons, introducing custom games, and the performance of the game. They also want to introduce badges and medals you can get during the game that highlight amazing kills or moments. This is just the start of more updates to come in the future!
