Learning and testing my own knowledge while exploring a beautiful garden in a secluded area of Scotland to the south of Oban. Ardmaddy Castle Gardens! 🌺🏰🌳🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿 The elevated castle standing on a volcanic mound interrupts the seaward view from the imposing mature woodland walk. Just a magical feeling! The walled garden is full of magnificent rhododendrons with a collection of rare and unusual shrubs and plants. Beyond is a woodland walk with its Giant Hydrangea Petolaris leading to the Water Garden which in spring (just now) has a mantle of bluebells and lots of daffodils. The best part for me, mature varieties of Camellias bringing me the inspiration and motivation to keep sharing their beauty in all of our projects. Have you seen any snowdrops yet ? 🤍💚 🌬Walking around a beautiful area in the Scottish highlands; accompanied by sun, rain, hail… 🌦 I found these radiant and vibrant Snowdrops. 🤩🤩 Getting the idea to add them in my garden. Adorable deep white gift in the winter. 🧚‍♀️ 📝Snowdrops don’t often multiply from seed in a garden, but they will multiply by offsets. Offsets are new bulbs that grow attached to the mother bulb. After a couple of years, the clump of bulbs can be quite dense. If you wait until the flowers fade but the leaves are still green and vigorous, you can easily increase your planting.
