Truly I hate to do this to you all but; you can watch all the videos and read all the blogs in the world but you cannot learn to sew without at some point picking up a piece of fabric and fucking it up. No tutorial exists that will stop you at some point ruining this poor piece of cloth. The visceral act of holding a project and wondering where you went wrong is the only way to learn sewing; you cannot escape it. I’m sorry

So I was thinking about the psych episode scary sherry bianca's toast, where killer was avenging her best friend's death and asks Shawn what he would have done, if it was Gus. The moment after she says this, the tone changes slightly, it's tense and everyone is looking at shawn to see what his reaction is. Shawn kinda stops and stares and there's no humour or anything on his face, but then the moment breaks he realizes he left Gus in the "haunted" asylum.
Gif credit @apricotedits
We are meant to laugh at how he forgot Gus but Shawn doesn't actually answer. Verbally. We see through his actions.
In one of the yin yang eps where Gus is about to get the lethal injection, shawn threatens to kill the guy
Gif credit @sophsun1
And sure we can see this as him trying to stop the guy but we see that once his loved ones are actually hurt, Shawn kinda goes off the rails. Like the santabarbaratown eps where his dad gets shot, Shawn is unhinged, he doesn't care about anything, he's violent, he's intensely focused on getting revenge
Gif credit @psychicpinenut
Now psych usually puts comedy over continuity. It's meant to be a fun show so of course, but when they get serious, they get really serious and I think through these episodes we get our answer to what shawn would do if gus was murdered. And I don't think he would get caught either

Let me tell you a little about Multiple sclerosis (MS). MS is an autoimmune disease, which means that the immune system starts attacking some part of the body. In the case of MS, the immune system attacks the central nervous system. If you didn't know, the central nervous system includes the brain and spinal cord, and as you can imagine, damage to that can have disastrous effects on your ability to function. Damage often happens in "attacks", and symptoms tend to get worse over time. The symptoms that damaging the central nervous system can result in are so numerous that it has its own wikipedia page (Signs and symptoms of multiple sclerosis), but to list a few that may occur: fatigue, difficulty walking, incontinence, blurred vision, cognitive impairment, depression, speech problems, hearing loss, tremors, and pain.
MS cannot be cured, but there are treatments that can prevent it from getting progressively worse, and reduce relapse rate. This is incredible news, except these treatments can be prohibitively expensive...
Now, I want you to imagine having to deal with something like MS while living in Gaza, and all that entails, for over a year now.

I want to tell you a little about Hala Daoud. Hala is in her 40s and has three children: 17 y/o Osama, 13 y/o Lana, and 9 y/o Mohammed. They are living in Gaza, with all that entails, and Hala has MS.
I'm sure you know, but the healthcare system in Gaza is all but destroyed. The only chance Hala has to get his treatment is to travel to Egypt, and then pay for the medicine all on her own. The medicine costs $12,000 for a single dose, and getting through the border is not cheap either. If she cannot do this, her health will continue to deteriorate and she will be left permanently disabled.
Her fudraiser was created all the way back in May, but she has only raised €2,274 out of her €17,000 goal
In the last ten days she has only had four donations. Please, do not let her be forgotten💔
She is on tumblr @halakamak

i know many of us, autistic and otherwise, struggle with all kinds of sensory overloads. loud noises, bright lights, irregular temperatures, strong smells.. and doubly so when you're already tired, hungry, scared, and so on.
so can you imagine what it must be like to live as an autistic person in an active war zone? with bombs falling around you, no electricity or stable food source, and no place to escape? can you imagine the torture that is?
ahmed is a young autistic man living in gaza trying to have him and his family's needs met among the destruction. imagine the burnout you and i experience just from our day to day activities - ahmed is certainly undergoing things none of us can truly understand.
this campaign is very low on funds - currently €718/€10,000.
ahmed and his mother marah's campaign has been vetted by association - shared here by another user who has been vetted by trusted tumblr users. they desperately need food, water, and basic living needs to stay healthy and alive. any amount can help, even as little as $5.
please, consider making a donation or giving a reblog to this campaign. it has gone weeks with very low donations. ahmed and his family deserve to make it through this coming winter!
#palestinian genocide#haunted by a story i heard about a palestinian child being shot at a west bank checkpoint bc he didnt obey an instruction to back off#he was deaf#displacement is destructive for any child but imagine being someone who needs routines and you cant have routines bc youre displaced#the incessant year long bombing has traumatised and disabled gazans imagine what it does to neurodivergent brains to be exposed constant bo

when I see something dated 2019 I think “oh that’s not too long ago” and then I remember that 2019 was not only five years ago but those five years have somehow contained several lifetimes

if you like a piece of media that is good eventually youll more or less run out of things to say about how good it is but if you like a piece of media that is objectively pretty mediocre but also somehow deeply compelling thats how the demons get you

One of my fav Psych (2006) gags is when Henry will just be vibin, living his best life, and then BOOM there is Shawn Being Shawn.
Enjoying the morning news? Surprise! Yes that’s your idiot son now running for mayor. Are you just trying to enjoy your favourite Spanish drama? BOOM how about Shawn dressed as FedEx driver enters on stage left.

as someone with ARFID i really couldn't care less about the distinction between "picky eaters" and "genuine eating issues." if you are an asshole to someone you see as "just picky" i will never, ever trust you. i've lived through the trauma of being shamed and humiliated for my eating needs.
frankly i think a LOT of "picky eaters" have some kind of sensory problems– autistic or allistic– and shame is never useful. i don't fucking care how annoying you think we are. if you've never lived through the humiliation of being the only one not eating at a dinner table, or having to choke down something disgusting you already know you hate because other people insist you don't know your own body, or getting a hunger migraine in a house full of food because none of its edible to you? you don't understand how awful it is to have food issues.
whenever i see people draw this distinction between being "just a picky eater" and "having a real problem" all i think is, who does this serve? most people don't even know ARFID exists. there are so many undiagnosed autistics, or just people with a variety of issues that aren't officially diagnosed. why do we need a medical label in order to be treated with respect and compassion? why did i need to be diagnosed as autistic for my family to realize the abuse they put me through for years because of my eating habits?
it's such an easy habit for neglected groups to fall into– the idea that a medical diagnosis can save us. that by appealing to the medical/psychiatric industry, we can be protected from abuse and given basic respect and resources. but the truth is that it should never have come to this in the first place. dignity doesn't come from an abled doctor telling you that there's a medical reason for your symptoms. it comes from being a person. once you accept that you need a Good Reason to have your needs respected, you doom yourself to neglecting and abusing those who have your same struggles because they aren't lucky enough to access medical recognition.
tl;dr solidarity with all "picky eaters" stop guilting people for having varying food needs, if we make you irrationally angry that's YOUR problem not ours, and abolish "children's menus" & replace them with simple-food menus for people of all ages
