jayvisar:
ever since Everett dissapeared, Jay had felt like he was somewhat responsible. It had happened on the way back from a tourney bonding party and as captain he should of made sure they had walked back together in a group, or something. Needing some time to just not think about anything he needed a bit of fun. “Hey wait up. I have a question for you.” He ran up to the first person he saw. “How do you feel like having a bit of fun?”
gil had been trying to focus on just getting through the day without setting off any alarm bells, and for the most part it had been going pretty well. “oh hey, jay!” he greeted, stopping and turning to face the other head on. “you know me, always down for a good time. were you thinking of something specific?”

“there’s a guy to eat leftovers?… what on earth is wrong with this place?” she knew this place was supposed to be fancy and a dream, but it was really weird, and almost concerning but anything was better than that cave in the Isle. “I don’t know, maybe? should we try it, and if it turns out code grey is the kingdoms collapsing we might get a fun show to watch,” she said only half-joking.
“that’s what i said ---- what does that job application even look like? and like when the barrier was still up, they could have been sending those leftover to us,” he agreed, eyebrows furrowing for a second before he shook away the worry. “that would be pretty fun, wouldn’t it? or maybe not, you know since we’d probably be run over in the chaos. i don’t see a guy though, so maybe we should just give it a go.” cupping his hands to his mouth he called out, “code grey! we have a code grey!”

gisclle-mm:
everything has been so strange for giselle since the barrier came down, hades has actively spoken to her, people aren’t being overtly rude and if someone was another person would come in and defend her. she was not sure how to get used to any of this, but now it was tense, after that video came out people are side-eyeing her or whispering and she felt bad for something she had no control over. it was not an excuse for her to start running out of the area like that because it meant she wasn’t paying attention and accidentally knocked over a bust and saw it crash into pieces. “uuuuh, i can pay for that, do i get a person?” being from the isle she just wanted to leave and let someone else take the blame or be confused about what happened but she was turning over a new leaf. “i lied, i can’t actually pay for it.”
watching the bust fall to the ground, gil froze wishing that he could have stopped it and now, not knowing what to do. he made eye-contact with her for a moment before staring at the bust again and stumbling over his words as he answered, “i don’t know, but they probably have a guy for this, they have a guy for everything. yesterday i found out that they have a guy that eats the leftover fries at the end of that day and,” he paused, taking a deep breath before continuing to ramble, “a guy to lick the spoons when they cook --- so we find a guy for this or do you think this is a colored code situation like maybe code grey means hey someone broke a bust!”

( DYLAN PLAYFAIR || TWENTY || CIS MALE || HE / HIM ) GIL LEGUME is the child of GASTON LEGUME. they’re currently a FRESHMAN & PHOTOGRAPHY MAJOR at auradon royal university, where they’re described by friends as OPTIMISTIC. however, others sometimes complain that they’re UNAWARE. maybe that’s why they’re called the HALCYON around campus. ( DREW || TWENTY-ONE || HE/HIM || EST )
backstory:
born the son of gaston, there was always an unstated understanding that gil was supposed to be the strongest, the least interested in academics, the bravest, the baddest. or that’s what his father expected — his mother would whisper loving words and tell him to follow his dreams, to get out of the nightmare that she had trapped herself in. his dream: to get out, to get them all out, off of the isle and then to see the world —- compared to the isle, auradon always sounded so beautiful that he couldn’t help but think fondly of it even when the people there failed to provide anything more than distrust and rubbish for the inhabitants of the isle.
there was anger and hurt that bubbled under the surface, appearing only when he was alone. moments of weakness, the ones that he allowed himself, like soul-crushing sadness that swept over him when the core four were chosen to go to the isle and the bitter anger that stung at his tongue when they didn’t come back for the others. but what should he have expected? auradon hadn’t made the core four good, it hadn’t fixed them —- and maybe the dreams of a perfect land shattered a little more every time he thought about it.
and then he met ben, and for all of the mess that caused it did teach him one thing: that pure goodness did exist. there were people who wanted to help, they just weren’t any more perfect than the kids on the isle had been. but the threat of another empty promise never left his mind, so he never spoke up. he was happy instead to go along with the plan, to work alongside his friends to try and find their own freedom.
their moment came, slipping through the barrier only to find that all of auradon had been cursed to sleep —- by one of their own. and honestly that had been kind of surprising, sure gil had accepted that they weren’t perfect at the whole goodness thing in auradon but he figured they had it down well-enough to prevent this. and it was a nightmare, but it was also a dream come true, because it was still auradon.
and the more time that gil felt in auradon, the more he fell in love with all of the beauty that he saw but that quickly came to an end: he wouldn’t leave behind his home even if it meant being trapped there permanently.
since the barrier was broken:
was overjoyed when it fell, overwhelmed with the idea of a future. still isn’t quite sure when he made the decision to apply to university —- figures it must have been in between listening to his dad’s drunken ramblings about how he would finally get belle to love him and his mother’s whispered plan to start over in the city. he doesn’t regret it however, quickly falling in love with the feeling of a camera in his hands and the ability to capture the beauty he sees in the world in a single image.
is still coming to terms with being in auradon, constantly on edge that what’s being advertised as a permanent situation will change into a temporary truce. the disappearance of everett has only heightened this, gil worried that those he holds dear will pay the price for this new crime —- and wasn’t this supposed to be happily ever after at long last?
is super into cheerleading, and will not take any shit for it. still reflexively flexes if anyone comes off as trying to assert dominance, posturing in the same way that his dad always insisted that he should and well, it’s not as easy to leave behind the bad parts of him as he wants it to be, but he’s trying.
personality:
genuinely believes in goodness and love, knows the value of a kind smile more than most — always has a kind word for anyone who needs one. will play the part of a comforting shoulder even for complete shoulder and is ready to lend a hand or two at a moment’s notice.
easily overwhelmed by his emotions, after years of pushing them down he finds it very hard to just let himself feel them in an honest way. can quickly go from happy and bubbly to crying with very little explanation though it still takes a lot for him to lash out in anger and most of the time he withdraws into himself long before that happens.
connections:
*note all connections are open to all genders*
old friends ( 0 / 1 ): on the isle, they found some comfort in each other — maybe they helped each other steal or maybe they just sat along the docks and shared secret grins but they survived together even when they shouldn’t have. but eventually, something pulled them apart and they’re just now rediscovering their friendship.
gym buddies ( 0 / 3 ): gil will joke about his body being mostly genetics — and there’s some truth to that but he also works out a tonne. and somewhere along the line, these four ended up hanging out and working out — swapping stories and healthy recipes, always cheering each other on towards their goals.
ex-lover ( 0 / 1 ): gil had thought it was love, until it wasn’t and that left him in shambles for a period before he managed to pull the smile on his face. seeing them leaves him uneasy even on the days when it’s hard to admit that they still have an impact at all.
