Stop the Execution of Emmanuel Littlejohn in Oklahoma on 26 September!
Tumblr media
I want to talk about Emmanuel Littlejohn, who is scheduled for execution in Oklahoma on September 26. The Oklahoma Pardon and Parole Board recommends clemency, and now it is up to Governor Kevin Stitt to decide to grant this or not. Here's why clemency should be granted:
1) THE EVIDENCE IS INCONCLUSIVE: Littlejohn is currently on death row for the murder of Kenneth Meers, who was fatally shot when Littlejohn and his accomplice Glenn Bethany robbed his convenience store. Meers was killed by a single gunshot wound, yet prosecutors during Bethany's trial stated that Bethany was the shooter and prosecutors during Littlejohn's trial stated that Littlejohn was the shooter. The jurors during Littlejohn’s trial were neither aware of this nor the fact that Bethany had been sentenced to life without parole rather than death. The prosecution’s claim during Littlejohn’s trial that he was the shooter was a key part of the state’s argument that he deserved the death penalty. In reality, it is completely inconclusive whether it was Littlejohn or Bethany who shot Mr. Meers.
2) THE JURY WAS UNSURE ABOUT WHAT DIFFERENT SENTENCES WOULD ENTAIL: At Littlejohn’s sentencing retrial in 2000, the jury was concerned that the relatively new sentence of life without parole would mean that Littlejohn may one day be eligible for release. The jury asked for clarification from the judge about what the sentence would entail, but the judge simply referred the jury back to their instructions, and Littlejohn was resentenced to death. Littlejohn raised this issue on appeal, and the appeals court acknowledged the confusion and suggested providing jurors with clarifying information in future cases—but did not grant relief to Littlejohn. Since then, jurors from both Littlejohn’s 1994 trial and his 2000 resentencing trial have signed sworn affidavits indicating they did not believe a death sentence was the appropriate punishment but chose death because they believed the alternative might allow him to one day walk free.
3) ARBITRARY SENTENCING: Why is Littlejohn not serving life without parole like Bethany is when they are both convicted of the same crime?
4) LITTLEJOHN IS OF NO THREAT TO THE PRISON COMMUNITY: Littlejohn is currently in very poor health, having last year suffered from a stroke which has led to him needing a wheelchair to travel more than short distances. He also suffers from progressive white matter disease, which can cause issues with memory, balance and mobility. His spiritual advisor, Rev. Dr. Jeff Hood, reports that he is unable to get up and down unassisted and is prone to falling, and has very recently been in and out of the medical unit. A man in as debilitating a condition as Littlejohn poses no threat to the prison community and therefore is suitable to carry out a life without parole sentence. Furthermore, if he were to be executed, he would have to enter the death chamber in his wheelchair.
6) Finally, I would like to add that Littlejohn admits the part he had to play in the death of Mr. Meers (although he denies shooting him), stating that, "I committed a robbery that had devastating consequences." Littlejohn is also a father and grandfather and has good ties to his family. The petition seeking his clemency states that, “Given the chance to live out his remaining years in prison, Manuel will continue to provide familial support, model good behavior, and live with remorse.”
SO WHAT CAN WE DO?
1) Sign and share the petition calling for clemency:
2) Contact Governor Stitt urging him to follow the recommendation of the Oklahoma Pardon and Parole Board and commute Littlejohn's sentence from death to life without parole. You can call him on 405 521 2342 and you can send an online comment here:
3) There is a really useful toolkit from Death Penalty Action here, which includes a script you could use for a call (see under "Action Items", page 5):
4) Raise awareness and share this case and the petition as widely as you can! We have five days left and with the Pardon and Parole Board on our side it *is* possible! Use the hashtags #LetLittlejohnLive #SaveEmmanuelLittlejohn #EmmanuelLittlejohn. Thank you for reading!

Hello everyone
I will tell you my story about the war in the Gaza Strip, and I hope you will help me get out to safety. Thank you very much.
I am Ali Miqdad, 33 years old, and my wife, Aya Hamdan, 25 years old. I have two children, my beloved, who is 5 years old and Adam, who is 2 years old
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
In light of the war on us, we lost everything: home, money, business, and even clothes. I paid everything in the house and business that I had because of the bombing that we witnessed throughout the days. To this day, we have been displaced several times, and the first night was very difficult. In the morning, it was our first displacement and exit from the house, and then we lost. We all lost our beautiful memories and the wonderful things that me and the family used to live on
Tumblr media Tumblr media
We lost our beautiful memories and the wonderful things that my family and I used to live on. The hardest thing we lost was safety and peace due to the violent bombing that surrounded us at every time and moment and in all the places to which we were displaced. Also, the days that we spent in displacement several times were difficult due to the lack of work to obtain. For money, clothes, food, water, and meeting the needs of the family and the needs of the children, especially since we are in tents and there is no healthy food or medicine due to the spread of diseases.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Through the process of repeated displacement, we lost the stable and recreational life that I used to live with my wife, my children, Habiba and Adam, who lost their beautiful childhood, the first days of their childhood, and their toys that they loved and played with all the time. My daughter, Habiba, lost her studies in kindergarten, and my wife, who suffers from fatigue and exhaustion all the time. As a result of displacement from one place to another, and from tent to tent, which completely changed the nature of our lives from a beautiful house to a tent in the middle of the street in which we sleep.
I need your cooperation and help in raising money to leave the Gaza Strip because leaving the Strip is due to the heat🙏🇵🇸
Thank you

Please don't skip hlep me and family 🇵🇸🍉🇵🇸🍉
Dear compassionate souls, I come to you with a heavy heart, burdened by our story, our lives shattered by the ongoing onslaught of violence in Gaza. Since the beginning of October we have been suffering from terrible conditions and difficulties. Living in Gaza is terrifying during these times, bombs are constantly falling and our lives are in danger. Our house was completely destroyed and we were forced us to move from khanyounis to el mawwasi with minimal personal belongings. I am Ahmed Al-Agha, 25 years old, a graduate of media and mass communication from Al-Azhar University in Gaza. I was a volunteer in the Public Relations Department at the University of Gaza. Due to the difficulty of jobs in the Gaza Strip, I had to register for a professional diploma in culinary arts, but I did not complete it due to the terrible war. After my father passed away in 2021, life pushed me to grow up early and take responsibility for my family, including my mother (samah), my brother(omar)and my three sisters, abla 20years old,yomna17years old and jody 9years old. I dream of owning a small restaurant in order to support my beautiful family. Allow me to introduce you to my family, the very core of my existence: Samah, my great mother, an Arabic language graduate, a strong, courageous, compassionate, and extremely generous mother. She loves her kitchen utensils more than anything else, and becomes very sad if a plate or cup breaks. Her main goal in life is to gain her mother’s approval and the happiness of her children in all possible ways and to do the impossible for them. Omar is an accounting graduate from Al-Aqsa University in Gaza. He is an ambitious young man with big dreams. He loves going out with his friends and driving cars. He used to work for Atlas , but at the beginning of November the company's headquarters was completely destroyed, and he is now without work. Abla is an intelligent and educated girl, she loved children and reading novels, My mother depends on her to manage the household. She prepares us the best shawarma fattah in the world and many wonderful desserts. She studies English at Al-Aqsa University and dreams of becoming an English teacher, but her dream will not come true because her university was completely destroyed. Youmna is a wonderful girl, a student in the second year of secondary school. She has a leadership personality. She was a camp leader in the Association for Culture and Free Thought. She has a talent for drawing and participates in art exhibitions in her school and in civil society institutions. She loves drinking Nescafe and listening to music when she draws. She has courses in drawing. The characters: Her dream is to create her own art gallery and to study at the College of Fine Arts. Jody, my little sister, is 9 years old. She is smart and beautiful. She worked and dreams of becoming a model in the future and has the talent of acting. She participated in an advertisement for a bridal chalet and was the heroine of the advertisement. I felt very happy to participate in the advertisement. She suffered from severe psychological disorders at the beginning of the war after she saw several children dispersed as a result of the bombing of the house opposite ours. I try to maintain her psychological state by going together to the seashore and meeting her friends in the nearby tents and playing with them so that she is not distracted by the terrible news and scenes shown on the Internet. , the war has shattered our lives, leaving us without a safe haven or a place to call it home. We are human beings, just like you. We eat, drink, watch Tom and Jerry, love to travel, and love life . The only solution to save my family is to get them out of Gaza by paying an amount of 5,000 US dollars for each of the above-mentioned people to . If the money is available, it can get them out within thirty days. ‏Please consider that the above mentioned people are your family. How would you like them to be helped ? Your help, even if it is just one dollar, Im sure that it will never forget your help

WE NEED YOUR URGENT HELP 🚨
Please listen and don’t skip 😭💔
Hi everyone,
We have had to start over on our campaign again. The website has been difficult to use.
First we had a campaign that was set up wrong and needed to be closed and redone. We thought this had been done successfully, but it wasn't.
When we asked them to permanently close the old link, they instead refunded everything we worked so hard to raise on the new one😞💔
We are heartbroken to have to start from nothing again, but we refuse to lose hope.
If you had your donation refunded, please consider sending it to our new link. Sorry for any inconvenience, we are just as frustrated at having to ask this and we hope you continue to stand with us. I was trying to return the €10 to the donor because this link would not work and I was sad that someone would not receive their money but because of that
I told GoFundMe that I would refund the money from the old link because I am working on a new campaign that is active and going well and I told them to tell people about the new campaign.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
I was surprised that Go Fund Me refunded all the money from my active campaign and I only had one dollar left. I was back to square one after a lot of hard work and effort trying to raise money to get my family out and rebuild our lives.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
As you can see all my money has been returned to the donors😭💔
Tumblr media Tumblr media
I have to start over now😭💔, I need your support more than ever.
Tumblr media
Help me by donating again or sharing my campaign with friends and others. This will be a great support for me. 🙏🏻

Dont skip 🔴
I am Falestine, Jad Al-Haq, I am 36 years old, married, and I have a three-month-old child named Youssef. I gave birth to him during the war during very harsh conditions that no human being can bear. I moved from the hospital immediately after giving birth to the tent in which we were staying after we were displaced to it after the Israeli bulldozers completely bulldozed my house.  Kamel has become featureless, and my suffering did not start from here. Rather, it began since the beginning of the war, and I am still suffering. I cannot provide enough milk for my baby or diapers. Even medicines and vitamins are not available.
I ask you for your urgent help in disseminating the link to my family and communicating it to people interested and able to help us.  I didn't want to do it, but the tragic situation we are living in is what pushed me to do it.  I feel sad and helpless, after we had everything, we are now homeless on the streets, living in a tent next to a dilapidated public toilet and there is sewage, dirt and waste everywhere, we sleep on it!  We suffer from terrible heat, insects, scorpions, the danger of death, bombs and missiles, in addition to hunger of course, the danger of pollution and terrible diseases, especially the digestive, respiratory and reproductive systems!
.  My father and mother could not bear it any longer. My father had a stroke after losing his home and his place of work, and my mother suffers from chronic diseases and needs treatment.
Do you have the right to imagine that when you spend your life building for yourself and your children to live a decent life, all of this disappears in the blink of an eye, and now when you reach the age where you should rest, you are forced to start again!!?  But the most important thing now is to try to survive and protect your children from all the factors of death that surround us!  I ask everyone who has humanity or conscience to feel our situation and put themselves in our place.  How can someone who has lived with dignity all his life accept this?  We are slowly dying every day.
Your donation, no matter how small, can have a big impact.  It can provide a meal for my little one, a clean bottle of water, or a moment of safety under these difficult circumstances.  Every donation brings with it a ray of hope, alleviating our suffering and giving us the strength to face a new day.
I ask you to donate and support the steadfastness of the Gazan people, and share this campaign with your friends and families.  Together, we can make a difference and help my family get through this ordeal.
Thank you from the bottom of my heart for your generosity and support.
Warm greetings,
Falestine
