head seems clear but i’m still pretty high strung i think. i’m having a hard time dealing with stressful or irritating situations.
moreso than usual i mean. :y
good thing i’m getting better at walking away when things get too hot to handle. “nope” is my saying in these situations. don’t discuss. don’t bargain. don’t hang around. just nope the fuck out and go be someone else for awhile.

spent some time recovering. i turned it all off and just sat here quietly playing games and sleeping. the brain fog has lifted, my tension and anxiety subsided, and i feel pretty alright.
i think i’m ready to be normal again.
guess i’ll get back to my commission work and turn discord on and stuff again.
i was -fucked- mentally for a bit there.

depressed
i’d sure feel a hell of a lot better if we had somewhere to move but we still don’t. movers are booked for the 25th.
might end up living at my sister’s place after all. or not.
i dunno.
who cares anymore.

Man, Beat Saber.
I’m not bad-cutting or missing these notes. You can suck me.
I need a replay so I can see what the heck I’m doing wrong. So annoying.

been beating this one semi regularly. don’t wanna overdo it. but today i went hard at it by playing it fucking sped up, i think it was that +8% bonus score modifier thing that makes the song 30%(?) faster.
but i beat it. i knew what was coming, had a good feel for the song, and i flew through it at insane speed. that was nuts.
very thrilling.
i nearly failed like five times but
i managed to survive that baccano song guns ‘n roses, missing about 80 notes out of like 1340 or something
holy fucking shit

I finally beat Milky Ways.
Then I revisited some other songs around the 5 notes-per-second level. I think I’m hovering around 4 - 5 NPS now, but not much higher. Got overwhelmed by some other songs.
Awesome that I was able to beat it though. Now I can use it mid-session to get my sweat up. :0

cheered myself up from earlier by drawing lizard ass. dunno where exactly the tail should go but it’s going alright.
also made this thing because it popped into my head. made for captions. i included my buddy sgore’s captions, his first attempt and the alternate version.
if you see this mess feel free to make your own.

why do free sound effects sites want me to register and sign up, especially when the stuff on there is cc0.

think i might have hurt my right shoulder playing beat saber. i didn’t notice anything when i was playing but it’s been a few hours since my last little session. i spent some time just sitting and drawing. but the position i was in was hurting my shoulder up to my neck.
the heck did i do. guess my body wasn’t ready. i’ve learned nothing from reggie.

people that remark on people’s playtimes in steam reviews as some sort of mitigating factor are fucking braindead.
if anything you WANT the guy who played it for a long time to give their final opinion on the thing, especially if it’s a more long-form game.
what really sucks is some of these guys give a really solid negative review of a thing discussing the positives and negatives, ultimately disliking the overall experience for a variety of reasons. it might even be a begrudging negative review where the bad stuff simply outweighed the good.
and you get some fuckboy in the comments saying shit like
“'this game is bad’ *plays for 40 hours* ‘oh yeah that just sounds so horrible how awful for you’“

tried those songs again in practice mode for a bit, worked up a sweat just going through the hard bits slowly. ramped up the speed until i started encountering issues.
in milky ways there’s a really hard part. the notes are perfectly readable and it requires both hands hitting notes at the same beat, a sort of flailing t-pose thing. problem is it’s extremely rapid and i don’t think i can keep up at full speed, certainly not for that whole section. i lost it at 85%.
i’ll keep working on it though. i think i’ll have to change my form a bit. at the very least the other parts are looking easier and easier.
i sometimes wonder if the issue is how i’m holding the sabers. it was a godsend for my form when i learned not to use my arms as much or do full swings. fuck the score, sometimes you’ve gotta survive the song.
i’m trying to learn how to hit notes with the tips of my sabers but i miss a bit, and when shit is flying at you crazy it can really throw you off.
the baccano op is a bit of a pain in the ass but i think i have its weird gimmick down. it’s hard to read when shit is coming at you that fast but if you recognize the pattern you can keep up. more of a map knowledge thing in that regard but whatever.
if i can keep the guilt at bay i’ll consider trying to do a beatmap of something again. maybe not that dynasty warriors thing i was working on. something that’s more of a bop might be fun. i’ve got lots of stuff to choose from. but again i’ll have to worry about that later. can not be bothered.

had another short round of beat saber. made it farther in a couple of really difficult songs. should be good training.
it was the baccano opening song (full version, guns & roses) and milky ways by bossfight. i can’t find my version of the baccano song anywhere but here’s milky ways.
https://bsaber.com/songs/7efd/
i kept losing around 0:50 but then i managed to get just barely past that weird shit (it’s easy once you get used to it), but then at around 1:00 it throws even more weird shit at you. hard to read but definitely readable.
in expert and expert+ you also have to suddenly contend with performing/reading bizarre arrangements you’ve never seen before. that’s been my experience anyway. part of the problem with the massive gulfs in skill between the difficulties. i really do think it should be based more closely around the beats-per-second, rather than a designation chosen by the mapper because these guys don’t know what they’re talking about
but yeah, motherfucker is hard, man. it’s a few mins long and while it has a couple of patterns you sorta get used to its mostly throwing a lot of different shit at you. i honestly find it very difficult to read but i reckon it’s a tough but fair thing.
i’ve played some maps that really do just throw absolutely random chaos at you and it’s bullshit.
i like the stuff that’s a bit dancy, gets you twisting a little, moving your hips and stance and stuff. as long as it’s not fucking insane i mean. don’t want to do one song and come out of it like i’ve done a 5 km run.
