me, who likes to be tied up and spanked: cool, edgy, kinky, better than the normies tee em
you, who likes to be tied up and spanked, but who also likes to say, "nooo, don't punish me ;3" while it happens: evil evil evil evil bad evil gross ick evil ew evil evil evil
While not necessarily the most harmful, one of the most irritating sorts of people on this site are the ones who present themselves as being so cool and freaky because they're somewhat more kinky than your average CisHet Christian Suburbanite, yet will freak the fuck out and go into a full moral panic about anyone whose own kinks make them feel weird or icky. Like their kinks are exciting and transgressive, while those other people are just plain degenerates and probably dangerous too.
Clearly, if something makes you feel personally disgusted then it has to be morally wrong and anyone who supports it needs to be punished. Sorry, I mean take accountability; I'm just concerned about the purity I MEAN SAFETY of our community. It's not like I'm a Puritan or anything

The fact that random kinky trans women get called predators on here for engaging in incest roleplay demonstrates that people don't understand why real incest is unethical. They only know that it grosses them out. That should bother you.
Many point instinctively to genetics, and how it's wrong to procreate in the context of incest. One, you risk channeling eugenics with this argument. Two, and more pressingly, most sex is non-procreative. The couple of trans women who call each other sisters aren't gonna make a baby together. After that, it seems like most people rely on their baseline disgust.
Incest - real incest, as in, a person having sex with a real member of their family - is wrong because you cannot consent to it. The relationship and power dynamics at play make it impossible. People gain their support networks through their families, they are taught to trust their families implicitly, they are often in close quarters with family, physically and emotionally reliant upon family. Even if we're talking about, like, step-siblings with no age gap, sexual abuse interacts with and disrupts their relationships to their parents, and therefore aunts, uncles, family friends, etc. It can be difficult or impossible to exit such a dynamic without it exploding in everyone's face, without parents choosing sides and harming the victim(s). Saying no to a sexual advance from a real family member is never without consequences. A "no" can never be neutral within a family, the way it is to those unrelated to each other.
This is important because incest does happen. Sexual abuse among family members is real, and often goes unchecked, because victims are afraid of retaliation from family and from the world. If the victim is old enough to know what's happening to them, their abuser can hold the disgust-driven taboo of incest over their head and say, "You're just as culpable as I am." That's in addition to all the social bonds tying the victim to their abuser.
Moreover, when we don't understand why incest is bad and just target people we think are icky, we redirect our energy towards marginalized queer people (often trans women), who are often victims of incest themselves, and who engage in consensual sexual relationships between non-family members. We direct it at them, and not at perpetrators of abuse.
In contrast: an incest kink, like other cnc kinks, seeks to tease out aspects of a normally nonconsensual dynamic - aspects that are dramatic, erotically thrilling, even humiliating, intense, and painful to an extent - in a consensual setting. A direct analogy is boss/employee play, another dynamic that's immoral in real life due to the power dynamic, but obviously fine in a kink setting where that dynamic doesn't exist. In incest roleplay, all parties are not related to each other. All parties can say no, and can adjust or opt out of aspects of the dynamic (eg: "step sibling" or "step parent" roleplay among people who don't have step-anything, as a way to make a scene more fantastical). It's play. It's make-believe. At the end the lights come on and the show is over and, after everyone calms down, they can discuss it in a detached way, what they liked and didn't, and can choose to never participate again if they want.
In an ideal setting it is the polar opposite of incestuous sexual abuse, which is also what makes it appealing to some victims. Construing this with sexual abuse is dangerous and wrong.

when I was 15 I had an ongoing OC story with two "boys" who were funny and shitty and my age and had magical realism adventures. One of the adventures was a "gender swap episode" in which they're cursed for a witch for their teen "boy" misogyny and live in a gender swap world. the one I identified with more had a whole arc where he learns to be less of a misogynist, then when the curse doesn't reverse he panics and realizes also that gender dysphoria is real, and as time passes has to come to terms with appearing gnc and exploring transition. the second one isn't really misogynistic, just kind of a follower. & they learn to be themself more and also they realize that femininity and womanhood fucking rule, and have a lovely time being femme and learning about themself, and when it was all reversed they got really upset and had to stand up for their individuality & newfound nonbinary identity. & now their friend was fully equipped to support them, having lived a similar experience.
I still thought I was cis when I imagined all this. btw

homeless disabled trans lesbian writer in need of affording more nights in their hotel
i used to promote these individually but i figured a compilation post would be much easier. my name is equinox/johnny, im a disabled intersex trans lesbian writer & artist who is currently homeless after escaping unsafe living situations. i write a lot about my experience as a queer person and have written 9 zines so far on the queer experience. i am in the middle of writing a few more, but for the time being, if you are interested in learning more about queer history & lived experiences, considering checking out my zines on ko-fi. they are currently only available for digital download (PDF format) but in the future we will be finding ways to print physical copies
you can find our zines here:

can't help but think about the trans palestinians who are excluded by the constant use of phrases like "men and women" and "boys and girls." so here's to remembering them. to every palestinian with neglected gynecological issues who isn't a woman or girl. to every nonbinary person who's fallen. to everyone who's lost access to their hormones, who wasn't able to get their gender affirming surgeries - intersex palestinians, too. to every unidentified trans person and every trans person who never got to be their true selves. to all of them, the martyred, and those still struggling just to survive. free palestine - trans and intersex palestinians included.
