do you ever feel like youre not who youre supposed to be?

like ive always been told to be myself, but every year i am me. im me and i grow and try to be a better version of myself than the last year, the last month, week, day. it doesnt feel like enough. i get comfortable, i speak my mind and say what i think i should say.

i get shut down. in little ways, big ways.

everyone elses feelings and thoughts and opinions and bodies are more capable, more relevant, more important than mine.

do you feel like you’ve been lied to? do you wonder how youre supposed to be in your world? do you feel like a stranger in your own reality?

the important people in my life are so angry. i was angry too. im not anymore, not really. i dont feel the heat from my feet to the roots of my hair anymore. i dont feel the need to break anything but myself.

the important people in my life want to break me. they are so angry and they always have been. they coax me to tell them whats on my mind, what i did today.

every answer is the wrong one. why do i keep on going?

only a year ago i would have decided not to, i would have failed, i would have picked myself back up and waited for the next time to decide again.

i still havent decided if that makes sense to whoever is reading this. i havent given up on myself in a long time now. its hard, to keep getting up without anything to get up from.
