" She was once the servant of the gods, sent to teach mankind to worship them...but she learned to be human, instead. She's the Defender of Truth and Life in the struggle between heaven and humanity--between the mortal and the mythological...and she's me. I am Wonder Woman...and this is only the beginning. "

âOh, please, no. Steve has practically perfected that art, Iâd love to never hear more of them.â
âI really need to practice my DAD JOKES. You know any good ones?â

âAdrianâs a fucking puppy most of the time so good luck with that.â Theora rolled her eyes. âItâs not like Iâm going out of my way to seek out Althea and be a dick to her. Just the opposite, actually. I donât have to like to her. I donât have to talk to her. At all. And you donât have to lecture me anymore.âÂ
âThen, so be it. You will remain the only one to get these talks.â Diana clenched her jaw. âYou donât have to be a dick to her in any circumstance, whether you seek her out or not. I do have to lecture you, until you give me reasons not to.â

Diana was hardly offended, in fact she really shouldnât have been in the lab at all. It was out of sheer curiosity, getting out of her classroom for a moment to see an area she hadnât been in before. She shouldâve seen the paper and the fact that she was in someoneâs way coming.
âSure, sorry to bother you.â Diana picked up the paper and threw it out. âI donât think I have been in here before.â
Lio drummed her fingers against the table. In front of her, android schematics forgotten and a latte rapidly cooling in front of her. Too much was going. She heard the hum of the air conditioning. (There was to find air conditioning unit and take it apart, either to find out what was wrong or make it better if nothing was.) She watched the queue. She smelt the sugar and the syrup they used. Frustration built within her. (You need to get out more. You canât just live in the lab.)Â
Turning her attention back to the paper in front of her, she forced her hand to still, grabbed her discarded pencil. Still nothing. She groaned in frustration. After a moment, she grabbed the schematic, crumpled it into a ball, and threw it towards the garbage, only a few feet away from her, and right into someone.Â
âShit. Sorry.â She said. A beat later, she asked, âCould you throw that away for me?â

âNeed help?â Diana looked at Daniel with a smile before hitting the locker, smiling wider when it opened. âLockers are quite annoying, youâre not the first student Iâve seen have trouble today and I doubt youâll be the last.â
âdonât do this to me,â daniel practically begged, as he found himself tugging at the door of the locker, trying in vain to open it. heâd always struggled when it came to combination locks, no matter what he did, he could never get them open! âi just need to get my stuff,â he added, as if his pleading would magically get the locker to open.Â

âAdrian isnât too thrilled with my ex wife either. Is he getting one of these talks too? Or am I the only one thatâs not allowed to dislike my twinâs ex-wife?
âUntil I witness him obviously holding grudges when it is well past time to let them go, you are the only one to get one of these talks.  They have been separated for longer than they had been together. For the gods sake, Theora. Youâre too old to act this way.â

âNot my place to talk to her. Unless Adrian wants me to be rude to his ex-wife.â
âYet, you are the only person in this family who holds any ill will toward her. Perhaps it is your place.â

âThanks. It almost makes the English courses I had to take in college worth it.â
âAt least they had that purpose. Back on point, why would talking to Althea be so bad?â

âTheora, that is not a very mature response. Impressive that you know that, though.â

it had been a long while since adrian had done anything âjust causeâ - not because he had grown less thoughtful in his old(er) age, but because it had been a real long time since heâd had the space to think about anything other than his messy life. his family deserved better. his mother deserved better, for all the good sheâd done, and all the shit she put up with, and he had picked up the bouquet on his way to her home. he had held it in front of his face while he waited, but there was really no hiding the huge smile that had appeared the minute she opened the door, with adrian taking a moment to just give his mum a quick hug. âi didnât know how youâd be feelinâ, after the whole⌠thing, at the school. âthought you might need cheering up.âÂ
âThank you, it means a lot. Truly.â Diana beamed. She loved her kids so much, getting random surprises like this let her know that she was a good mom, despite how she thought otherwise sometimes. She motioned for him to come in, placing the flowers on a counter. âThe mist was...rough, for plenty of people. Are you alright?â

Kon flys over to where the dumpster was down the street. He throws the debris inside of it gently, grinning at the loud thud. His gaze turns back around as he moves to float down next to the woman. He nervously rubs the back of his hair, but pays attention. âItâs totally cool, I mean we werenât in our right frame of mind you know? I still respect you â weâre still good right?â
âI know we werenât, but it was still out of line for me to say those things.â Diana couldnât bare to talk to anyone that way, not to mention someone so connected to Kal-El. âYes, we are - we are still good.â

Diana immediately softened when he stood, amused at how quickly he stood when he realized it was her. âIt is alright, Cyrus. No need to apologize, though you should work on being a bit nicer.â She kept her eyebrow raised a bit before smiling at him.

Diana had found her son and was about to greet him until he spoke. He must not have thought it was her, at least she hoped not. âDo I need to book an appointment to speak to my own son?â She questioned, crossing her arms with a raised eyebrow. I donât need the machine.â
even after taking a leave of absence from the navy, cyrus didnât stop his rigorous training routine. after all, muscles needed to be constantly stimulated or they lose their strength. he was doing some overhead presses in the training room before setting down the large bar with many plates stacked on the ends. he took in a deep breath and picked up his water bottle that was on the floor next to him. after taking in a large gulp, cyrus realized someone was hovering and usually in the gym that meant someone was waiting to use to equipment. â you need this? iâm just about to be finished if you just wanna wait five minutes? âÂ

Diana lifted a piece of debris with little difficulty, holding it up with her hand as she looked over at Kon. âThere should be a dumpster down there.â She nodded to down the street. Ever since the mist ordeal, she had felt awful and was looking for any way to talk to him. âBy the way...I am so sorry for how I spoke to you before.â
Kon lifts up some of the debris easily, standing there with it as he looks over at Diana. âWhere do we put this anyway?â It didnât feel like it weighed anything thanks to his abilities, another good part with him being involved with cleanup. [ @gcddesscftruth ]

âeverything is so confusing. i donât know.â - jamie ( @jamiedarrk )
Perhaps Diana was overcompensating with the empathy following the mist incident, perhaps.  She put an arm gently around Jamie as he spoke. âWhat do you mean?â She asked. âYou can talk freely to me, you know.â

âI know youâre not him â I was just ⌠I donât know.â Kon knows that he was created to be modeled after Clark, and he wants to try and live up to what he was created to do â but how can he help people when he feels so lost? âI just want to help.â
âKon, look.â Diana sighed. âHave you ever thought that maybe you do not have to live up to Clark? You are your own person, start acting like it.â

lars was not stupid. in fact, the gotham mob heir was incredibly intelligent, but being so on edge and being unsure of what was real and what was not certainly had the blonde a little⌠left of centre. âoh, seems a little rough for you, doesnât it?â he remarked, tilting his head slightly in a way that was almost a jeer. "didnât think you had it in you to be anything but a saint.â
âAnd here I was, thinking you could be something more than an insufferable malĂĄka.â Diana shot back with narrow eyes. âYet we both stand here disappointed.â

âWhat?â Helena said, her shock clear in her tone. Fear and anger were both abundant within her at that moment, waging a war within her. âPeople could be dead or hurt or missing.â Her thoughts once again returned to Theo, returned the image of him at the funeral. She crossed her arms. âYou could try not to be a dick about this.â
âYet, they are not. You over exaggerate.â Diana loosely crossed her arms as she looked at Helena. âHave care how you speak, youâd do good to.â
