                      ❛ ooooh snap he is watching porn again! ❜ casper says with rather loud voice as he was sneaking behind the other, clearly getting all the attention in the room they were currently in and yes, he was planning on embarrassing the other this way. ❛ is that fisting? ❜ he keeps on having the loud noise before then grabbing a chair and dragging it across the floor to take a seat beside the other. ❛ hey pal, how’s it going? ❜

Minhwan was working on some coding which was taking him a lot longer than originally intended before he heard a familiar voice and he winced when everybody looked at him. If he slammed his computer down, that would look suspicious but at the same time, he just wanted the ground to swallow him up. Running his hand through his hair, he glared at the other before gritting his teeth. “You’re a dick, you know that?”

Minhwan didn’t really know what this was going to achieve but she knew how special Elijah was to his sister, he was her best friend and she often spoke about him and sang his praise. While Min had always wanted to meet him, he had never really had that much of an opportunity due to how much he was working but after the latest battle Hana had come back from battered and bruised and in a state he had never seen her in, he wasn’t too sure how he was going to cope. Pure anxiety ran through him as the days passed and she barely ate anything, her smile simply wasn’t returning and she was barely giving him one word answers. She had suffered with PTSD ever since her first mission where she watched one of her men die on the field beside her but no state had ever been as bad as this one. No matter what he did, he couldn’t even get her to look at him, she merely stared into space, it was like she was a shell of a human.

Even though this was the last way he wanted to meet the male, this was his best bet. Knocking on his door (knowing it through dropping Hana off there many times in the past), he wrung his hands together anxiously and tapped his foot in a nervous habit. He didn’t know how this was going to go down, he didn’t know what he was going to say or what to ask--it felt awkward but Eli was the only person he genuinely thought could pull her out of this state of mind and it was his only bet right now. As the door opened, Minhwan bowed his head politely before looking into the males eyes. “I hoped we’d meet under better circumstances but I need to talk to you.”

he almost expected music to start on cue, but none of that happened because it was a thing of films and dramas,and that was real life ━that was minhwan so close to him he could feel his own heart against the roof of the mouth and his stomach twisting and seizing, red all over his cheeks that could only make the pink hue of his hair look even more pastel. but minhwan never felt threatening, or scary ━minhwan felt safe, like tall cliffs for pirate ships to hide within when the sea was raging boisterous and nights were full of eldritch terrors, and he knew he could bask himself in that same safety. minhwan would never, ever harm him, he knew ━so close to his plump lips, so close to grasp the hyperventilating heart in his thin, thin chest.

“ you can. ”

The moment he was granted permission, he leaned down slightly and pressed a tender yet tentative kiss against the males lips. He hadn’t kissed anybody in a long time so he was a little nervous and the anxiety coursing through him was enough to almost knock him off of his feet. Closing his eyes and getting lost in the moment, one hand cupped the others neck gently before tilting his head to the side to kiss a little deeper. There were butterflies in his stomach as he very carefully shuffled closer, chest to chest now but when the pure shyness overcame him, he pulled away slightly and gave a small yet sheepish laugh. “I-I don’t think you realise how long I’ve been wanting to do that.” He spoke calmly despite being a bundle of nerves as he dared look into the others eyes.

The beer doesn’t quite make it to Taemin’s lips before Minhwan’s words elicit a snort out of him that makes him lower the drink once more. Dark eyes flicker over to assess how serious the other male is in that statement, a mixture of disbelief and genuine interest battling on his features for dominance.

It sounded like a joke, like a line thrown into the rest of his words because it fit well in there, the mention about his aching body that Taemin had replied to with a friendly pat on his shoulder, the compassion he’s only learning to showcase thanks to Hana giving him the opportunity to. “Take out and gaming sounds good, but… Are you serious about that, hyung?”

Ordering almost everything on the menu so they could just pig out and eat as much as they want--Minhwan looked over at the younger male and gave him a small smile. “I see you and Hana all the time and you’re both so happy... it makes me wonder if it’s about time I get back on the dating scene.” 

Taking another sip of his beer, he sighed softly before running a hand through his hair. “I haven’t dated anybody since Hana was twelve. My last girlfriend wasn’t exactly the nicest to her and from then on, I just focused on raising her and working.” He bit down on his lower lip feeling a little embarrassed to share all of this.

”I don’t think you guys have ever told me the story of how you met.”

he wished he had confidence, most of the times ━he felt himself as still being no different from the meek, trembling boy he was in high school, with the only difference being the four books having his name printed in it and giving him so much success. outside of that ━and the characters he’s been able to flesh and render alive even in black and white of paper and ink━, he was still as dense as an idiot could be. which he claimed was still a perfect description of himself, hence why he spent at least one hot second staring at minhwan the moment the word ‘date’ filled the air.

and his poor, poor heart started beating so fast, too fast ; he could swear he was feeling it just hopping away from his chest and declare itself done with everything. he wouldn’t really blame it at all. “ what━━ ” he felt jumbled, fizzled, unsure if he had really heard the word ━he would ask again, but he was afraid that would offend minhwan more than he might have already have. “ a d-date? like, like━━? ” god, why was the word ‘couple’ so hard to throw out? maybe because minhwan always made him feel like he was being destroyed by a stampede of some kind? “ i━i think we can, yeah… i━━if━if you want to, of course. ”

Upon seeing the males reaction, he couldn’t help but ease up a bit. Truth be told, Minhwan had only been in one relationship and that was years ago with a girl from school and after that all went wrong, he was frightened to throw himself out there again. He hadn’t ever expected to be attacked with feelings for his best friend but here he was--falling head over heels for the male before him. Looking over at him, he chanced a couple of steps forward and gave him a small smile before nodding his head and reaching his hand out to tentatively take the others. “Of course I want to, I wouldn’t have asked you otherwise...”

His voice was soft and the look in his eyes were fond--it had taken a lot of courage for him to ask this and his heart was pounding in his chest. The only person he had told was his little sister and had made her swear not to tell the other. Judging by his reaction to when he told him he meant a date, he was thankful that she had kept her promise. Biting down on his lip, he squeezed the other hand and ran his free one through his messy blonde hair, bandana in place as always. “We could go now if you want? There is a restaurant I’ve been wanting to try. Do you like Italian?”

Scratching the back of his neck thankful that she had suggested something, he nodded. “Of course, a walk in nature sounds a million times better!” He needed to stop being so damn awkward. Man up, Min. “We’ll find our soulmates?” Is that what she meant? His heart fluttered as he looked at her and smiled softly before reaching out and tucking a stray hair behind her ear--if he wanted to show her he cared, he needed to start doing so. “You never know, they may be right in front of us?” Was that too cheesy? Oh god, it was too cheesy. He needed to abort before he came off as a sleeze instead of being smooth.
