The mechanical form stood not far from him, yet still managed to tower over him. Such was his place — a human amongst what some may call beasts. Bart, himself, considered that to be a rather harsh term… after all, the humans could be considered beasts for what their presence had brought to the planet. “ I … I don’t. Mean you any harm, I mean. ” That would be Ms. Maida, but we’ve never seen eye - to - eye. “ I��m mostly surprised to find another sentient life form, here … much less one that can communicate. With — with other species, I mean. ” Shocking, really. Bart was having a difficult time refraining from asking a slew of questions. “ … I understand what it’s like. Searching for someone, ” he cautiously offered. “ I would offer my assistance, but… it seems you are not open to that. ” … and I understand.

There was a brief, sharp colour shift to white then the lines became purple once again. If they opted for vocalising such confusion, there would be so many questions for a human that seemed to be acting peculiar. The Architects had no prior introduction to this species so everything could be normal or border closer to something unknown and worth being wary of.

"We cannot communicate with the species here. We simply understand their behavioural patterns to the smallest degree possible." Their decision to be truthful, even if rather vague on details, came out in the idea of testing the poor fellow. If the response was not viewed as a threat in the end, there was something to work with.

"...If you are still looking for someone, they would be dead." You should be as well. He instead fell silent instead of finishing it; that odd feeling of guilt struck at a time he really did not wish for. By now he really was someone who just brought about death. "What are your intentions being here? Whilst we do not believe there is no harm intended currently, we could conclude otherwise with more answers."

For the partial ease of doing research on planets that had humans present or on the occasion where they decided to learn about human interactions first hand by joining a research team, the Architects came up with the plan to use their fabricators to make human bodies for their consciousness to be transferred to. The bodies still hold many differences to humans which mostly could be covered up by clothing outside the hair streak that glows and the markings around their eyes being similar to how their actual appearance's face.

AL-AN appears as a middle aged man with short black hair and some grey streaks (a single streak also being purple).

I know I'm not the first one to have come up with that concept; I simply wanted to do my own version of human!AL-AN (also because I'd break my head on his og design- I should def try to draw him, but later haha)

Watching a play through of the early access version of BZ and I'm going to mix it into my writing of AL. Similar to the current version, he is protective of himself against Alterra and those that seem to cause harm. A great scientist that struggles to understand humans but does not intend to be rude with how he acts and speaks. However, an initial meeting is extremely defensive to being viewed as extreme aggression. Such as his first response to leaving the data hub being "this is disorientating, I do not like it. Put me back."

When it comes to the architects, I feel like AL's statements on them all being "a collective" with no individuality is a complete contradiction to him further stating they can go either "with the directive or against the directive". Because if they were all the same: they couldn't pick or choose, they'd all be on the same path and there would be no need for him to be the research leader.

And so the immediate calculation to determine a response came to making them seem like the entirety of the Architects. Would someone not feel fear against more than one? This one ... who was he? What were the intentions behind asking? So many questions and so little concrete answers.

Type. ― The two extra robotic appendages effectively pressing every key in a steadily rapid manner, focus once more entirely upon whichever form of research gained priority within the directive. Completion of the cure was imperative and AL-AN had to ensure the other Architects knew what needed to be done. If it all remained that way, it would have been the exact same day yet again. But they heard it this time. A voice unknown. Not one of the many strings forming a melody humming in his mind. Both hands stopped mid sentence, his own voice having become silent in the directive and a brief flash of amber taking over his body. Where was it coming from? It could not be the others nearby ... unless one of the aquatic lifeforms were capable of speech. A few steps towards the large observatory glass had been taken.

"There is the current possibility that you are one of those I hold interest in speaking with. Are you the emperor we have housed here?" If not for possible significant developments, everything would be chalked up to the disease.

Amber: Range of all emotions, surprised

Yellow: feeling creative and focused on work

Pink: uncertain feelings

Orange: dare devil mood (only happened once and never again)

Red: anger

Green: calm feelings and comfortable
