Quote
My younger brother’s rages, his wildness, his destructiveness, all this comes from Father. My imagination, my exaggerations, my fantasies, my lies, my beautiful edifice of lies, these too spring from my father.
Anaïs Nin, Winter of Artifice (via roadmotel)

One thing I love about the Old Kingdom is that God is a collective body of 9 people with different roles and attributes
but creating the Charter was a group project where 7 did a great job, 1 tried to skate by without participating and had to spend several hundred years making up for it, and 1 was an active saboteur who got put in perma-detention where he decided the appropriate reaction was gonna be to destroy the world about it

Where the north wind meets the sea, there’s a river full of memory,
Turn, my darling, homeward bound, when all is lost– and all is found.
FINALLY finished and able to post this. A crossover between the Old Kingdom books of Garth Nix, and the song “All is Found,” from Frozen 2. Both places feature a cold, deep, dangerous river, which can reveal the secrets of the distant past. In Frozen 2, this is the glacier Ahtohallan. In the Old Kingdom, this is the river of Death.
Art by the incomparable, the legendary Leo and Diane Dillon, who did the original cover of Lirael.
