My kind friends, It’s been more than two months since the crossings were completely closed, and not a single grain of wheat has come through. Prices are unbearable, a bag of flour now exceeds $300, and a kilo of sugar, oil, or vegetables costs over $30, while we have no income, no resources, nothing.

To make things worse, the donations we relied on have almost stopped. Days pass with no support, and sometimes we receive just a few dollars… not enough to buy a loaf of bread. 💔

Today, our only meal was a small plate of vegetable salad and dry bread, not enough for four people and a baby growing inside his mother’s womb.

But the moment that broke me… was when my little boy looked at me with tearful eyes, asking for something else to eat because he doesn’t like the salad. Then he began to cry. He doesn’t understand that we barely managed to get even this tiny amount of food, And me? I could only hide my tears, trying to smile at him while my heart silently collapsed, convincing him to eat because we have nothing else. 🥹

My dear friends, we are on the edge of famine. I’m not asking for much, just enough to feed my child and my family, so we can go to sleep without hunger, and live through one more day. 😓

Please, don’t leave us alone. Any support, any extended hand, could save lives here. 🙏🫂

a lot of media assumes robots would be immortal but i think its a lot more interesting to explore robots dealing with their parts wearing down and battery life shortening and all the horrible little failings that come with being a complicated machine. sure they can replace parts but you'd assume you cant completely ship of theseus them, or it'd have pretty big rammifications on their sense of identity. idk. give me robots with distinct, unique signs of aging. as a treat.

Anyone else ever relate to a character so much and it makes you realize things about yourself you never knew?

Honestly when I first started listening to season two of dndads, I didn't really like Normal. Something about him was almost a little "too weird" at first I guess, though I was so used to him by my relisten that I didnt think anything of it. That wacky, funky kid became my favorite character because of his weirdness not too far into my first listen lol.

I mean come on.

The weird enthusiastic kid that doesn't really understand social cues when people are uninterested or weirded out?

The cheerful kid that thinks he is friends with so many people only to realize maybe they weren't as close as he thought?

The desperate kid that would do anything and change anything about himself to make people like him and make his parents proud?

That was me. I was that kid. And there was something oddly healing and equally heartbreaking in seeing this strange sweaty teenager go through heaven and hell (literally!) to be the so-called "Chosen One" to help the people he loved and to prove himself. And really in the end no one was the chosen one. He strove to be something that didnt really exist in the first place.

I rooted so hard for Normal and Hermie to work things out, and when Normal was questioned about whether he actually liked Hermie or if he craved the validation he gave him? It shook me lol. Definite insight to what little relationship experiences I had.

He didnt even get the assurance that Hermie liked him back- all he had to go off of was a performance. Story in the life of a neurodivergent person who cant figure out whether people are being honest or not.

I was heartbroken when I realized that Normal didnt get the happy ending everyone else did. I can also relate to him at that party- seeing how old friends have grown and changed and paired off, and comparing their happiness and community with some of my loneliest and lowest lows. But that's not where his story ends and maybe with some work and definitely some therapy, he will get the happy ending he deserves, and know that he deserves it.
