All that is happening in the world is no threat to the one who trusts God. Even if they kill the earthly tent you live in, it will only take you home to His arms. There is absolutely nothing that the plans of the wicked can do unless God allows it, and He only allows what serves His own purpose. Many ways we will not understand this side of heaven, but if we believe that God makes no mistakes, we know that His purposes are all good. Everything He does is right. The nations can threaten and plot and scheme - but God is in control.
He literally scoffs at the futility of those who oppose him. Yes “The one who rules in heaven laughs.” (Psalm 2:4)
“This laughter of God is the comfort of all those who love righteousness. It is the laughter of the might of holiness; it is the laughter of the strength of love. It isn’t an earthly throne He occupies; it is the throne of heaven with authority over all creation.
God looks at the way man plots against Him and His children, and He laughs. God isn’t afraid or confused or depressed about the opposition of man. He laughs!
He sits as the Great King on a glorious throne. He isn’t pacing back and forth in the throne room of heaven, wondering what He should do next. God sits in perfect peace and assurance.
“He laughs at the wicked, knowing his day will come.” (Psalm 37:13)
Look what pours out of their mouth, what swords are on their lips, as they say to themselves,“No one is listening, anyway.” But the Lord laughs at them, He mocks all the nations. O Lord, My Strength, I will watch for you, for God is my fortress. God, who gives me grace, will come to me; God will let me gaze in triumph at my enemies. (Psalm 59:8-11)
He does not even rise from where he is sitting. He simply laughs… FEAR NOT. GOD IS HAS NOT STEPPED DOEN FROM HIS THRONE.
