A stunning antique navette ring featuring an old European cut diamond weighing approximately 2.25 carats, I color, and VS2 clarity. The center diamond is bezel-set and accented above and below by calibre natural emeralds. A halo of single-cut diamonds is set along the outer edge of the platinum mounting. Three old European cut diamonds are set on each shoulder. The total weight of the additional diamonds is approximately 0.35 carats. The mounting is decorated with an openwork under-gallery, fine milgrain, and hand-engravings along the shank. This ring was handcrafted during the Art Deco era, circa 1925.

The approximate measurements of the center diamond are 8.40mm x 8.20mm x 5.11mm. The measurements of this ring, including the diamond halo, are approximately 19.95mm x 11.80mm.

The necklace showcases five magnificent Colombian emeralds totalling approximately 1,150 carats, anchored by an extraordinary 470-carat centerpiece bearing the inscription of Ahmad Shah Durr-I Durran, founder of the Durrani Empire spanning Afghanistan and northwest India.

With the Greek expansion East, especially into the Black sea region, new cultures and art styles were experienced which had an effect on the Greek settlers, as well as the impact of Greek culture on the native peoples of these areas, such as the Scythians. With the defeat of the Persians by Alexander the Great, and the establishment of the Hellenistic kingdoms in the East, more opportunities were opened up for extensive trade routes and an influx of luxury items to the West.

The kingdom on the Eastern shores of the Black Sea, known as Colchis, was famous for its wealth in gold and legends such as the Golden Fleece grew up based on the fabulous riches of this area. Milesian Greeks settled the area in the sixth century BC and soon established themselves as wealthy trading oligarchies. Many of the gold items that were created by Greek craftsmen were exported to other Greek colonies across the Mediterranean as luxury items, but were also valued by the Scythians as prestige items. These were worn by the elite leaders of the tribes, as well as their families, as a means of displaying their wealth and power.

This ring features an emerald-cut 2.49 carat natural emerald center stone, set in prongs. Surrounding the gemstone is a halo of old European cut diamonds, I color and VS1-VS2 clarity overall. Additional old European diamonds are set on the shoulders. The total diamond weight is 1.60 carats total. This ring is handcrafted in platinum.

The measurements of this ring including the diamond halo are approximately 14.87mm x 14.96mm.
