I love how Frodo deciding to let Sam come to Mordor with him is like…an act of rebellion.
When Frodo asked Gandalf who he should trust, Gandalf advised him: “trust yourself. Trust your own strength.”
And when Frodo protested that he couldn’t complete his task alone, Galadriel advised him: “To bear a ring of power is to be alone. This task was appointed to you. If you do not find a way, no one will.”
The wisest people in Middle Earth advised Frodo to trust his own strength, even if it meant isolation.
But Frodo ultimately refused to follow that advice.
When Frodo allows Sam to come with him to Mordor, he puts his love for Sam above all the Wisdom that the wisest people of Middle Earth have given him.

I’m literally obsessed with this picture of my cat. It is the definition of renaissance painting imagery. The shading. The pose. The thoughtful twinkle in his eye. Sublime
