Welcome to my humble… blog thing. I still don’t quite understand how it works, but you are more than welcome here anyway. My name is Louis Charles Antoine Desaix de Veygoux. I am a general of the Republican Army of France.(This blog is a somewhat accurate historical joke RP)
Don't wanna be here? Send us removal request.
Note
Is it true that your sometimes called the "forgotten general"?
Huh. Forgotten? I don’t believe I was forgotten. There are far more obscure generals that were unjustly forgotten.

Do you ever regret going to Egypt
Invasion? Yes, I regret it, to be honest. At least in my afterlife. But do I regret learning what I did about the history and culture? No.

So… TECHNICALLY you were betrothed to a relative of Robespierre? (Sips tea)
Hello, Citizen. I am pleased to meet you in person. I remember some Jacobins were in favour of my staying as an army officer, despite the fact that some of my relatives had chosen to flee the country.
Kind regards,
General Louis Charles Antoine Desaix de Veygoux

To see men as young as myself elevated to the deserved ranks of general due to their intelligence and merit filled me with pride and hope for a great future.
...and then you made the unfortunate choices that you made. But that wasn't entirely your fault, I'm sure. Surely that was due to @lazarecarnot's great guidance. Say, dear colleague, did you write a poem to him too when he fell in the ludicrous expansionist wars waged by the corrupt government(s) you helped create and took part in?

I did not write any poetry for Carnot, at least not that I remember. In fact, I died before the empire was established, so perhaps those who died so early were spared from seeing the full downfall of even the remnants of the Republic.
I suppose I was doing what I believed was right for the country… but to learn in this afterlife that one of the generals became an emperor and restored a nobility of sorts was… shocking, admittedly.
