twitter sucks a lot of shit but i do almost kind of respect its Algorithm(TM) for very aggressively picking up on me being a gay furry who likes big boys and tummy stuff after i interacted with like. one (1) moderately freaky post. though to be fair the only other shit i look at or interact with on this account is deltarune-related so it probably wasn't especially hard to triangulate "gay furry" out of that

highly specific nosferatu 2024 thought (potential spoilers)
so during the scenes of thomas in the castle i had moments in which i wondered whether the interactions with orlok ever actually happened Physically or if orlok was literally just a psychic corpse somehow manifesting these visions in his brain and draining/branding him from inside and manipulating reality in some supernatural way. like yes thomas has the bite marks and the contract and the locket is missing so it has to be real on some level but there's no telling what exactly was real or how it could have possibly happened. there's no way to rationally explain it. i thought it was really cool how the dreamlike quality of it all played into the broader sense of madness and uncertainty and experiencing things that are both undeniably real and utterly unbelievable. then of course the movie made it clear pretty quickly that orlok was in fact an actual physical presence who rises bodily from the grave and that might have actually been the biggest disappointment for me honestly i know it wouldn't really work with the ending but i wish they could have kept it vague because i'm obsessed with the idea of a vampire who's just a corpse in a box who gaslights people to death with his dead guy mind powers

when homestuck first started i was a problem sleuth guy mostly and i think i read homestuck for about an act before i fell off for a while and then everyone started talking about the trolls and i was like "what the FUCK are you talking about who are these gray assholes" and then started casually keeping up again. when i saw people saying to start with the trolls it would make me pretty nerd mad because the opening acts of homestuck are some of the best parts IMO and the idea of skipping them sucks so much shit to me like if you don't want to see 100+ pages of john egbert flipping shit about clowns and bunnies and navigating absurdly baroque fake video game systems then can you even say that you like homestuck. what's the point of reading it otherwise. anyway im not mad about it anymore it's just funny
i very distinctly remember someone in the comics sphere tweeting something in maybe 2010-2011 that was like "it's crazy how this in-joke between underground cartoonists on something awful exploded into a cultural phenomenon for middle schoolers" in reference to homestuck and I've never stopped thinking about it

fun fact about my relationship to this song is that i know for a fact that the first place I ever heard it was on brian lee's TANE website which i almost certainly learned about through k.c. green because i was a teenaged twitter webcomics dirtbag at the time and TANE went on to be a big influence on me getting into web development. i also just learned like this year that toby fox did a cover of black eye/burnt thumb for TANE which is also a formative song for me and i almost certainly heard that cover while going through pages but would have had no idea who he was even though i was also a casual homestuck in 2009-2011. fucking crazy how small the internet can be sometimes
