<Genew News> As the main development direction of the new generation of mobile communication technology, 5G is one of the key technologies in the new infrastructure and industrial revolution. It will be integrated with technologies such as the Internet of Things, big data, cloud computing and artificial intelligence to become a new driving force for economic growth and empower various economic sectors such as industry, agriculture, transportation and medical care. With 5G infrastructure construction and application, the system is bound to have higher and higher requirements for synchronization accuracy. The requirements for 5G time synchronization are mainly reflected in basic services, collaborative services and new services. The 5G clock equipment of GENEW Technologies adopts a high-precision, multi-mode satellite receiving module (supporting Big Dipper, GPS (QZSS), GLONASS and Galileo), and optimizes the distribution error of PTP messages in the system through precise time processing and phase detection technology of local clock. Based on the comprehensive application of the above technologies, high precision PTP clock output can be achieved, which can ensure that the output clock accuracy is less than 40ns, reaching the level of Class B defined by PRTC in ITU-T standard, so as to meet the time accuracy requirements of base stations and other equipment. At the same time, the clock source device sinking scheme is adopted according to service deployment requirements. By deploying the 5G clock device at the edge of the aggregation layer, GNSS receivers do not need to be directly attached to the base station side, which reduces the time and labor cost of equipment deployment and construction and reduces the investment of operators. <Industry Info> Safaricom told Mobile World Live (MWL) it will launch commercial 5G service in Kenya, with the move tipped to be the first rollout of the next-generation technology in the country .   In a statement to MWL, Safaricom said it partnered with Nokia and Huawei for the rollout.
