My Skin Care Routine
Tumblr media
I think one of the biggest parts of being a teenager are spots, acne and bad skin. Im sure we can all relate. There is nothing better than the feeling of finding the right products to suit your skin and noticing a change. In my younger teen years, my skin was never as bad as the usual teenage skin and for that I was thankful, however as I drifted into makeup, that spot free skin didn't last long. I wouldn't say that I personally suffer/suffered from acne, just spots here and there and breakouts at certain times of the month. So as we all have I've been searching for the best products you can use to control those pesky little spots and breakouts this is what I've discovered works best for my skin. Enjoy :)
Please note I have fairly normal to slightly oily skin, but dry at times and in certain spots.. very weird.
Check out the links at the bottom for all the products i use!
Disclaimer- I'm not recommending these products to everyone. They are the treatments that I have found works best on my skin however everyones skin is different and therefore requires different types of care.
MORNING
Tumblr media
I know, mornings are not everybody's thing (they are certainly not mine) and when you wake up the first thing on your mind is probably what you want to eat for breakfast not skincare. So these products work best for me as they are easy to use and basically, the lazy way out of things.
I start by splashing some warm water onto my face and using Angels on Bare Skin, a gentle daily scrub to cleanse my face. Perfect for waking you up and smells amazing, may I add.  (If you suffer from acne, or oily skin I also recommend, Lush's 'Herbalism' which I have used in the past.)
After washing that off, and softly patting off the excess water with a face cloth, I give my face a light spray using the Eau Roma Water, a gentle toner.
The next treatment I use for my skin is a supplement that helps maintain strong hair, nails and clear skin. Directed to take after food, I usually take one after my breakfast.
NIGHT
Tumblr media
Now night time is when I step up the strength of the products I use. As you can see from the photo, they are all products that are probably packed with chemicals. (guilty)
Starting in the shower I wash my face using, Proactiv, Step 1: Cleanse. Take notice that I use no other Proactiv product other then this one. I use this how you would use any other facial cleanser, just a tiny blob and some warm water.
Around half an hour after my shower, I take my Peter Thomas Roth, AHA/BHA Acne Cleansing Gel. This product is pretty pricey, however after use i can really notice the difference in my skin. Minimising the appearance of blackheads and preventing breakouts, I really give this product a big thumbs up! After evenly distributing the gel over my face i wait around 10 minutes for that to dry.
The final product i use for night does have to be prescribed to you by a doctor. (Sorry!!) Im not quite sure if its available outside of Australia, but if you are Australian with problematic skin, go visit you doctor, it doesn't really take much for them to prescribe it to you. This is a 'tropical solution' so quite powerful for targeting acne, and I just dab that on my existing spots.
1-2  USES WEEKLY
Tumblr media
These next products are 2 that i like to call my 'sometimes' products. I try to not exceed 1-2 uses per week as that can harm your skin.
The first product you will see if the Seaweed Deep Cleansing Facial Wash. I use this in conjunction to the facial buffer you see just underneath it. If you suffer from dry skin, or dry areas or post acne spots, i really recommend these two. I like to use this when just before i put my makeup on, it really does take away that dry layer of skin and helps your foundation glide and slit flawlessly on your skin. While the Seaweed softens your skin the buffer, buffs away at those dry areas, you just can never get to. A lot of people suggest scrubs to fight dry skin, but for me nothing works better then the buffer itself. Being as cheap as it is, i really believe it should be a part of everybody's skin care collection.
The second product is use I have already mentioned in a blog post, and that is the Warming Mineral Mask. This mask is my saviour. Around a week before I expect my breakouts, I start to feel heavy congestion under my skin and that is when i reach for this! It draws everything out really helps clear up my skin, and relieve those sore spots underneath.
WATER
Tumblr media
I can not stress enough, how important water is and how much it really does impact your skin! Water is the secret weapon, and makes it almost impossible to achieve clear skin without drinking the recommended amount of water daily. Usually I like to drink around 2 litres per day, and when I don't, I can certainly notice it in my skin. Its very important to keep your skin hydrated.
Well thats everything guys! Hope you enjoyed this post and helped you with maybe some products you guys could use! I hope you all have a lovely day :)

Bullying
Tumblr media
Now I know this is a totally serious subject so before I begin I just want to state, I've never personally fell victim of serious bullying. Im not speaking on behalf of personal experience, just experiences that have effected me and that I have witnessed.
From my observations; society seems to believe, once your finished High School there is no such thing as bullying. False. Another believe commonly misunderstood is that younger children are not capable of such harsh accusations. Also false. Bullying is an ongoing issue in this world. In Schools -High Schools and Primary Schools, Workplaces, on the street, literally everywhere you go. In my very small time in this world - 17 years, i can unfortunately say 3 of the closest people to me in life, have fell victim to bullying. This not only makes me feel incredible angry, but sick. How could people be capable of such actions? Do they understand what they are doing or is it just for a laugh? Is it intended? Now what i hate is when people think, 'well they have stopped now, thats all their is.' What gets done about the mental scaring that remains. Its not just an issue that can be brushed off.
In my eyes, bullies are criminals. Just like burglars and murders etc. However instead of robbing the person of material goods, they are stripping them of there confidence, well being, even friends in some cases and social life. Whilst adding years of anxiety and personal hangups in replacement. They are slowly killing the happy, innocent person inside them.
Knowing people are committing such horrible things, and they can live with themselves knowing they are humiliating and victimising someone is completely not okay.
If you are a bystander (someone who watches bullying take place and does nothing about it) or a witness of bullying please stand up and seek help of peers, teachers and colleges, anyone. Let me tell you it is not the best feeling seeing someone you love break down because people think they have the audacity to tell them there worthless and treat them poorly. If you like to pick on people and think its a joke and don't take it seriously, put yourself in their position, how would you feel? Would it still be a joke? Or better still, imagine that person as your child. Would you like to send your child to school everyday knowing this joke was occurring. Something for you all to think about.
If your interested i have attached a video i found on youtube about bullying. Please take the time to watch it, and open your eyes to this matter.

Staying true to Yourself (High School)
I'm sure everyone has been in a situation where you agree, or say something that you don't necessarily believe.. a few hours later it ticks over in your mind while you think 'why did i say that'. Yep, we have all done it. I refer to this as 'people pleasing'. Now your idea of people pleasing may be completely different and that okay, however this is my view.
Now its absolutely normal to feel pressured at times and to say something you don't really agree with to stay in the safe zone. I guess kind of seeking the acceptance by someone? I'd like to say I'm a good judge of character. Ive been exposed to many types of people in my life, and i really think about body language and behaviour when meeting someone for the first time. (I'm not judgmental i just really think into things) Through High School I've met lots of people where i recognise them agreeing me or another person, saying something they think will award themselves approval and their face completely gives it away.  Am i making that person feel as though they have to agree with me for them to be liked? In fact i would much rather someone say "No I don't believe in the tooth fairy Georgia".
So if your one of those people that are shy, like to avoid confrontation, or just can't be bothered being yourself, I've constructed some steps and things to remember when not being yourself through out High School.
1. Find Yourself.
Now if you don't already know who you are, what you like, or what your goals, morals and beliefs are in life are, there are a few things you can do to help move this process along. Now you know those deep and meaningful conversations you might have at 2am, with your best friend, sibling, mum? etc, these are the conversations that really help you realise what your about and who you are. Keep them up! Be Yourself; Everyone is already taken. Wise words Oscar Wilde. Now as cheesy as this already sounds it really is true. However you need to accept yourself and understand yourself first. Make this your ultimate goal.
2. Disregard the Past
If your someone who compares your life to others, when it comes to staying true to yourself, it completely backspaces what you have done to get to this point. You are you. Embrace it! If what you like, your religion, your family etc, makes me feel pressured to act as someone your not, just remember that is an important part of you and makes up who you are! Don't let past treatment filter and block your inner soul shining through.
3. Accept that EVERYONE is different
Everyone is different and that is okay! You might find common interest between yourself and your friends but the power of opposites can surprise you! One of my best friends i have now i didn't like when we were kids. We fought all the time. However years later we spent some more time together and realised we did have similarities and are now best friends.
4. Remind yourself 'Whats the worse that can happen'
Relax, there will always be people in this world you don't have things in common with, disagree with and will not be friends with. Its life, be yourself and try not to impress everyone.

Face Mask Review | The Body Shop Vs Lush
Tumblr media
Disclaimer: Before reading this review please know that i am only reviewing the two products seen above (Catastrophe Cosmetic & Warming Mineral Mask) not the brand itself! These are MY opinions and experiences after using the products. Also know i am a HUGE sucker for lush!
After having a mother that has worked for The Body Shop basically my whole life you could all imagine how I've been completely bombarded with Body Shop products, I'm lucky i know haha! However once my interest in makeup/beauty progressed i found myself drifting away from Body Shop products. I began to feel like the products i was using were quite dilute and therefore not helping me in any way. After turning into a complete skincare junky, I am ALWAYS up to trying out any new brands products! Wondering into a LUSH store around that time, i was in complete awe, love at first sight! i was completely blown away by the fresh and 'naturopathicness' (is that a word) of the products they had to offer. My love only grew stronger after i finished my first tub of 'Angels on bare skin" and automatically found my self heading to lush for all my needs!
After rekindling my love with the Body Shop recently with the smells reminding me of child hood memories, i realised i completely overlooked a lot of their products, including the Warming mineral mask! The crazy face mask lady inside of me took over and I couldn't leave the store without one! Its been 6 months now and i can proudly say that The Body Shops 'Warming Mineral Mask' is definitely the winner over my absolute favourite LUSH mask 'Catastrophe Cosmetic'. The soft clay consistency of the mask is so relaxing, and don't even start me on the natural warming feel! Its absolutely amazing, i can't even describe it! You just swipe in on your face and within a second you can feel the heat generating onto your skin! Not only the feeling while its on your skin but the feeling after you wash it off is incomparable! My skin always feels so supple and soft. Considering the purpose of a mask is to draw out the impurities from your skin i would definitely rate Warming Mineral a 5 star rating on that as well! Just from washing the mask off, I notice a stubborn spots i could have had all week have been loosened.
Feeling like i have completely neglected Catastrophe Cosmetic, it is an amazing face mask however does not compare in my eyes to 'Warming Mineral'. I'm completely obsessed with the fact it allows me to walk around the house with blue berries on my face however the feeling after you wash it off, is maybe a 6/10 for me...
For anyone familiar with LUSH face masks you will know, they are all fresh, just like all of their products! Which means the face masks... need to be refrigerated! Yes i just told you, you need to keep your face masks in the fridge.. weird. This was always annoying for me as id get into the bath relax for a while, then realise i forgot my mask in the fridge! Another winner for The Warming Mineral Mask.. you can store it anywhere, and you're also not restricted with a use by date that runs out in less then a month, like the LUSH masks.
COMPANY ETHICS-
For anyone thinking of trying out any of the products from each of the two companies, please know that both The Body Shop and LUSH fight against animal testing. The Body shop support Fair Trade and all of LUSHS products are preservative free, handmade and fresh - VEGAN.
Overall-
Convenience - Warming Mineral | Catastrophe Cosmetic
Affordability - Warming Mineral | Catastrophe Cosmetic
Ingredients - Warming Mineral | Catastrophe Cosmetic
Purpose - Warming Mineral | Catastrophe Cosmetic
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Please note i awarded Warming Mineral Mask better for affordability considering it is more expensive then the LUSH masks as it contains LOTS more uses than the LUSH pots and does not have a strict expiry date.
Below are the links to both products included in the review available for your purchase!
The Body Shop 'Warming Mineral Mask' 100ml - $28.95 AU
Lush 'Catastrophe Cosmetic' 75g - $16.95 AU
Please let me know if you enjoyed the review or thinking of buying any of products and let me know what your go to face mask is! Also let me know if you use any of the products and agree with me! Feel free to message me any products you would like me to review and ill try my best at trying them and writing them for you!

Thursday 17th July, 2014
So, today we had a subject selection assembly for our final high school year subjects, only makes me question what i want to do in life even more. I don't understand why teachers try and stress you out with having your plan A, B, C, D and E plans to make it into your university course? What if i don't want to go to university? its as if that teachers make it out that they don't even consider what you want, because if you don't go straight into university your wrong. Why are we raised in a society where scores, results, marks and atar scores are just like one big competition? i have grown up feeling like the adult world is just like a world hunger games, survival of the fittest, the smartest, the prettiest. Career wise, Why is it that our whole lives are pretty much planned out for us? high school, university, then go on to make lots of money doing jobs that are said to be good and will make your parents look good when telling their friends.. i want to travel and explore and see the world that my parents never got to see, create unforgettable memories and experiences, live abroad, meet new people, and see things no everyone gets to see. My sister always tells me, "you never know what cards your gonna get in life, you might not wake up tomorrow, would you be happy with your life? Did you accomplish your purpose?" Just think about that next time you feel pressured or forced into doing something. DO WHATEVER MAKES YOU HAPPY! Because if you play life like one big waiting game, you will look back and realise how much time you have wasted in the process.

Life of a Frequent Bedroom Redecorator
After living in my house since the age of 4, clocking up a total of almost 13 years now, i cant remember the amount of times I've sat pondering how i can improve the layout, decor and storage issues of my bedroom. I've always had a passion for interior design and cant remember a time before mapping out floor plans of my bedroom including new furniture i want and a financial plan of how i cant buy it. (or convince my parents into buying it for me). After contacting companies and gathering quotes since the age of 11, and having majority be shut down by my parents as it consists of too much change and effort, I've pulled my head out of the clouds and focused on something more reasonable. Constantly moving furniture and blowing my money at IKEA, i think i finally have the solution that will solve all my storage/still looking pretty needs. If only i had figured out the solution before spending money on huge canvases that i no longer have wall space for or a bed that i no longer want. After contemplating what is more important, a car in 6 months or a pretty bedroom i came to the conclusion if i have a car i can then transport my ikea purchases home a lot easier. Therefore no money can be blown. On sunday night my mum and I cleaned out the garage and submitted 9 pieces of junk onto the site Gumtree. For those unfamiliar a site that consists of selling your second hand items for local pickup by people who want them basically.. an online garage sale? I can proudly say in under 24 hours we made a grand total of $40 selling an ugly picture frame to a couple with incredibly disturbing taste (like come on it was from the early 2000s) and a Queen Anne style side table which had quite potential and had several inquiries of other items we put on there. Hopefully this flood of customers continues and i can redecorate my room again..

Tuesday July 8th - 2014
Today made me realise, life is precious. If you don’t like a certain aspect about yourself, change it. The power is yours. After having a think about the person I am today compared to the person I was at the end of last year and the changes I have made to my lifestyle I have discovered I was a much more confident happy and bubbly person who was able to enjoy life a lot more, just by having that confidence. I am done with sitting around contemplating making a change and telling myself I will but in actual fact doing not much at all. Hard work comes with achieving what you want and one day you spend unhappy, being unhappy full stop (not me) or just not content with something in your life, determination is key for any improvements, especially in the case of breaking bad habits. As a side note I created this blog early this year in the hope to inspire others. But I have decided I will be using it for no one other then myself. If you find yourself interested in my posts and following my blog, then no worries, I’m glad it can entertain you or you can learn from my experiences or whatever, however I will not in any way be promoting or advertising this, as I will still be posting the same content if 1 person were reading it, being myself or a million others. This is my personal journey through my teenage years and experiences and the most convenient way of documenting it for myself.
