name of the book please please please? <3
I was talking about Child of God by Cormac McCarthy in this post!! But I’d also recommend these books if those are the vibes your looking for:
Exquisite Corpse by Poppy Z. Brite
The Dumb House by John Burnside
Story of the Eye by Georges Bataille
Funeral Rites by Jean Genet
Flowers in the Attic by V. C. Andrews
I’m not done yet but I would also really recommend Justine by Marquis de Sade

i read "it lasts forever and then it's over" earlier this year after seeing your posts about it, and i've been haunted by it ever since. do you have any recommendations off the cuff for anything similar, whether in style or just good books about grief? thank you for sharing so many good quotes, it kind of helped get me back into reading late last year. (':
Hello! I’m so glad you loved it too!! I think based on the vibes and subject matter I would recommend Grief is the Thing with Feathers by Max Porter!! It’s a really incredible book and I think about it all the time!! Straying further from that I really enjoyed the way that grief was discussed in Ransom by David Malouf - it’s a retelling of books 22 to 24 in the Iliad!
