The Summer Of Our Life

Probably a standalone novel with teenage summer vibes. Main character has a crush on one of her female friends. A romance book but with actual good plot. Kinda like heartstopper but a bit more mature. Like All The Young Dudes summer 1976 (?). Themes of bullying, friendship, being queer, peer pressure and being a teenager in general. Also a bit of a Gilmore girls vibe.

MAIN CHARACTERS: 

The protagonist is sixteen year old girl who’s name is Grace. She is a bright young girl, but has suffered with depression since an early age. She tries so hard to fit in and be like the others, wich makes her sometimes loose sight of herself and where her persona ends and she starts. She is your perfect blond girl who’s a part of the cheer team and spends her weekends in malls. Part of her wanting to fit in is out of fear of others finding out she’s bisexual. Until one day a new student comes along and she’s completely mesmerised by her. She makes her realize that she might not just be into boys and shows her how to life her life free of others opinions and how to stay true to yourself. But the girl is only staying for a year, wich forces them to be separated by an entire ocean. 

Alex. Well actually Alexandra is Grace’s everything. She and her father live in a small village in the north of Germany. Alex lost her mother to a fire that burned down their family home when Alex was barely 5 years old. Her mother died trying to save Alex and carry her out of the house, so Alex spend most of her childhood trying to be the best at everything, just to have her father stop blaming her. She’s the perfect girl, perfect grades, social butterfly and all, but deep inside she knows she’s different. So she decides to do a student exchange for a year, as a way to escape her father and gather new life experiences. She stays with a host family that has a son named Jacob and a daughter named Elaine. 

IMPORTANT SIDECHARACTERS:

Jacob is your average teenage boy. He plays football with his mates after school, goes to the movies with his girlfriend, his grades aren’t the best but his charming personality makes up for it, well atleast that’s what people tell him. One night at the party of one of his teammates his best mate  gets proper drunk and starts groping and trying to to kiss Jacob. Jacob shock freezes and gets sexually assaulted. He doesn’t tell anybody out of fear of people telling him its his own fault or that he should´ve defended himself like a proper man. 

Elaine has always been 

The books (s) will be divided into four parts, each representing one season the year Alex spends with Grace.

Bob transitioned after leaving rocky beach and peter doesn’t recognise him

Justus is a lil detective and basically finds out almost immediately

Peter is starting college late because he originally didn’t get in but then got a sports scholarship 

Peter is studying sports science 

Bob is studying Literature and journalism 

Both of them go to UCSD

Justus is a UCLA student studying criminology

CHAPTERS:

Chapter One

 Bob is working a shift at the bar and Peter and his friends show up. Bob is lowk panicking on the inside but has a small chat with Peter and realizes that Peter really doesn’t recognise him. He gets them their drinks and they leave later that night. 

Before they leave Francis dares Peter to invite bob to a party at their frat house. He thinks its important for peter to meet more students and make friends. 

 Bob arrives home and immediately freaks tf out. He tells Dakota everything and Dakota is like the biggest shipper ever, but is trying to hide it but fails miserably Bob is kinda pissed and goes to bed.

End Of Chapter One

Chapter Two

Peter wakes up the next morning in the frat house and gets a call from Justus, who wants to visit on the weekend. Francis and Peter walk past a group of girls and Francis makes a stupidly comment. Peter disagrees heavily but doesn’t dare to say anything about it.

Bob is anxious about the party and doesn’t know what he wants to wear To the party and is debating if he should  actually go or not. Kelly helps him pick out an outfit and bob tells her the entire Peter situation and she starts shipping them. Bob and Kelly leave to go to the party. 

It’s party tbime bitch. Peter is a bit nervous so he starts drinking shit and gets a bit drunk. Jeffrey tells him that Bob has arrived at the party and peter decides to go greet bob and Kelly. Bob is slaying so hard and is serving cunt and Lil Petey boy here starts gay panicking but blames it on the alcohol. Peter leads bob and Kelly to his friends and Francis gives Bob a drink. They start drinking and chatting until Nick comes. Nick and Kelly gossip and are divas so they suggest that they play never have I ever. While Nick and the others are laughing and shit about one of the questions, Bob asks Peter if they wanna ditch the party and go to the beach. They are really drunk and Peter gets the stupid idea to go swimming. They go swimming in the cold ass water and are giggling and shit. After a while they get bored and get out of the water still giggling like maniacs. They try to wander back to the party but Peter throws up and bob tries to message Kelly. 

Kelly sees his text and tells nick and he decides to go with her and find the two lovebirds. On their way nick starts telling Kelly stuff and they have a bit of a deep talk. He left for college after his mum got sent back to rehab. She is a strong drinker, wich started after his dad died when he was in middle school. His brother Charlie didn’t go to college, but started working after school to be able to pay for his family. One night Charlie and his mum have a huge fight, wich leads to Charlie leaving them. Charlies dream was to go to a good college and get a degree, wich is the reason why Nick is so ambitious to be good in school and everything. Kelly is stunned and tells him that her mother left her family when she was young dad is always on long business trips, wich forced her to basically be a parent for her two younger sisters.
